As for the limited resources I could handle that just fine. I am 40 years old and when I was in grade school all we had was a chalk board and I remember coming to class and my teachers would have two blackboards full of notes and we would spend so much of the class time just copying them into our notebooks. We didn't have to worry about all the tech. problems of powerpoint when the power goes out. The part-time jobs would suck though.

I get ya, i think Laos though takes limited resources to a whole new level. Its a great place to live but for those lookign to retire, i STRONGLY suggest living it out in Laos for 6 to 12 months first.
Teachiing is fun there, its mostly short lived work so you can really go all out have fun and the kids love it and honestly i felt they learned more in a few weeks than i've seen kids in Thailand or VIetnam learn in years
Maybe the lack of tech is a benefit :)

I live in Cambodia full time. I spent years in Thailand. They look so similar to Thai women, except without tatoos. The people say good morning to me everyday and are not stuck up. I love it here! Guys are telling me that the women they met in Laos are just as beautiful if not more beautiful.

      OHh yes 100%
Laos women i've found are a bit more down to earth, not focused heavily on social media and cosmetic over load like we see in Thailand or Vietnam.
I would say the only flaw would be the language barrier as English really isn't a thing in Laos compared to Thailand
In regards to looks, its a mix in Laos. One thing i learned is diverity mixing is not as rare as you'd see in Thailand or even Vietnam/Cambodia
This i think is a HUGE plus in Laos, its like an Asian melting pot visually depending what area you are in

@@EndlessTravels Here in Cambodia I was so surprised to see so many women with beautiful black hair. In Thailand the black hair has already been breed out of them from the foreigners over the years.

Yeah Thailand and VIetnam i see this a lot with girls dying their hair and what not
Call me weird but a blond Asian is just not that cute....
A big thing going on here in VIetnam with both men and women, yes men...
      Are super long Ghetto nails......
Men have naturally long for some reason
And women are getting these anime style super long nails to the point you wonder how they use the bathroom without cat marks.....
I am starting to think women are just in it to impress each other, I don't know many guys that are digging Asian girls with super long nails, a phone with over 90k pictures, and blond hair and botox lips
But again i might be weird

Sorry i answered these back wards
Internet is far from few depending, most use data on phone plans which is ultra cheap, whithin the city areas internet is as good as any where.
I think the same can be said in Cambodia or Vietnam as well, so nothing to horrible

Nice video. Thanks for posting. I am in PP at the moment, but I'd love to teach somewhere a bit more peaceful. Is it true I can work in Laos without a degree?

You are required to have a degree to teach in Laos by government rules. Are there under the table jobs? There are but i wouldn't depend on them though, they are rather rare

I verified with a friend out there now
If you do NOT have a degree there are short gigs you can do. The money is short and most don't last past a few weeks.
Second option are volunteer programs, and there are A LOT in Laos, check online for some. These will offer "ENGLISH" as a part of their program so the people that Volunteer are not required to get permits for working or even be qualified.
Typically these last 2 to 7 weeks, to get past the 4 week Visa is you pay for another 30 days. Some none profits will pay this for you, some will pay half others will not at all.
So if you don't have a degree there are some options, yet none seem to be long term o ra career change.
This information is MOSTLY focused in the Capital as well, outside the capital your chances of small gigs is almost 0, and volunteer jobs are higher yet last longer and pay a lot less.

Thanks for that, my friend. I think I'll head to Laos for a few weeks and have a look. It will be a good experience either way.

Laos is seriously one of my favorites for the "Asian exp" and adventure. It is really what we as westerns expected to see when coming to Asia. Your going to love it

For a Laos job? This is best done online - searching for working in Laos, teaching in Laos and Volunteering in Laos are your top 3 go tos for finding work that is mostly focused in the capital.

You do yes, at least its required for long stay. There are volunteer options that don't require it
