Awesome video Jack. I like using the medium pvc cement and the heavy pvc cement for larger pvc fittings and loose pvc fittings too. What was wrong with the old p trap your replacing?
the old trap did not line up with the new waste and overflow so it was being forced in place, the new trap is giving it slack and not putting pressure on the waste and overflow.
@@thorsal2758current codes ask for 2" drain off tub. 1-1/2" still ok for labs. No matter what anyone tells ya, always use 2" for washer drain ! Modern washer pumps often have pumps that move water volumes too fast for 1-1/2" to handle 😉
@@hectorswrx7902 I probably could have done that but I did not have a level when I made this video and I decided to replace the trap on the fly because I had parts to do so.
Very nice job. I did a few pvc p traps for tubs and showers in a new apartment building.

@@jacksplumbingvideos7147 Ok thanks.👍
Hey Jack, what got you into plumbing?
I am not really sure, I always found it interesting.
The P trap direction is backwards no?
No, I installed it the way the manufactured nut fits.
@@jacksplumbingvideos7147 Oh ok, Also is that coupler coming out of the tub 1 1/2" to 2"? is that the best way to go?
Thanks!
@@thorsal2758 that or a pvc coupling, the size depends on what trap and overflow assembly you use.

A lot of twisting
Why eyeball your flow, why not use a level and have it perfect? lol
The elbow would be hard to keep a level on.
@@jacksplumbingvideos7147 nah man, put your level on your 45 elbow and use the vertical bubble and make it touch the right line for fall.
