Good stuff my man. One tip if you don't want to export the large OBJ file you can export a displacement texture from World Creator and import that into the Relief tool in C4D to generate your landscape mesh. It saves you from exporting and importing the large OBJ files WC generates 🤙🏿
Woooot wooot! I’ve been wanting to try out world creator for a loooong time. Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I can’t wait to finally try it out. Great video! Thumbs up!
It's possible I have an untrained eye but the World Creator render looks pretty darn good right out of the box. This is a lot of work to get this working in Render and I get that you get a better render engine and more options in C4D. But for just rendering a still image of a desert landscape, World Creator seems so much easier.
I mean when doing this you're probably intending on integrating the landscape into some kind of larger scene, otherwise your stuck with the extremely limited lighting and rendering options in world creator
Hi! This is a great tutorial, but with color range selection you'll lost small details. Instead of that, use black and white adjustment layer with red filter preset. Then merge the layers, and invert it. The map will be a utility map, so you don't need any color information. Set the image mode to grayscale, and you'll have a linear map with only black and white color info. This will reduce the filesize as well.
Hi Ryan - I'm new to C4D, coming from Houdini/redshift and I'd like to use a hand painted vertex map on a landscape object to drive where the RS Matrix scatter will scatter my trees. Do you know if this is possible?
As far as I can see, it's not possible to Enable Background on a Dome light while using an Environment. How are you able to show that cloud image in the background?
Trying to follow alogn in Octane, is there a way to blend in the material editor similar as there is no surface option? Should i just create 2 materials and make a mix material instead?
You could use Octane for this too, there's really no difference. You would just use Mix Materials to layer the texture mattes instead of the Material Blender node in RS. I've been using RS lately for client work so I just decided to make the tutorial in the same tools I've been using
great tutorial, I have a question, I see that the calculation does not take anything to render, it takes me a long time, I have a good pc, do you know what it can be?
Hey Mate, thank you supercool tutorial! I have some issues with the vdb clouds. I do everything like you did but my cloud is still black. Can you help solve my problem? Thanks:*
As a new user to C4D with Redshift and World Creator, I cannot tell you enough how useful and informative this was! Thank you.

Totally! I guess I just prefer the OBJ so I'm not guessing the Y scale of the geo, but you could definitely do it that way too
Digital Melon dont know if this is still relevant but u can check the y value in world creator when u toggle the compass values (max height)
This is a great tip because the enormous geometry generated from World Creator is killing my scene in C4D.

great work mate, enjoyed it and found it very useful.
dude, you can export heatmaps from world creator, or use chanels in ps, color range mask is not the best way;)
Great informative video - Better than most of the other ones I've watched because you actually explain things properly!
i cant wait until next week when i get my rtx. i will have so much fun with this

Amazing tutorial, Ryan Talbot. World Creator is a nice tool.
Amazing Tutorial!!
Thank you so much for this lesson, I love straight forward tutorials like this.
Amazibg work, Ryan

@@bendosage3445 New World Creator drops later in December. Promising all new options. We'll see. Still would want to take into C4D for proper renders.
amazing and clear tutorial! Thank you very much of your great work!
Very helpful. Big thanks!
You can pipe the splat map into a color splitter node and do the Out G and get the same result without doing photoshop step I just discoverd
parcero muchas gracias desde Colombia un abrazo que gran aporte
Its priceless dude, thank you

TY bruh this help me a lot
Im waiting for you!! Awsome!!! I will follow you~!

awesome!
Thanks man!!!
Thank you so much mate :')
Nice :)
Is that old UI? The one i bought doesn't look at all like that...
As far as I can see, it's not possible to Enable Background on a Dome light while using an Environment. How are you able to show that cloud image in the background?
THX, nice one!
When the nodes click in i abort. I call it "node-mans land"...
Maaaaaan where d'ya start learning this from???

cool!
Do you have to rebuy every world creator that comes out?
amazing!
Great Tutorial, one question why would you use RS not a Octane for this kind of project? I love RS but its not for everything same as Octane.

Ffs dude, how are you so young and good? Making us all look bad 😄. Can you do a tutorial like this but with Octane please?
I am only 10 months behind this curve!!!
Hey Mate, thank you supercool tutorial! I have some issues with the vdb clouds. I do everything like you did but my cloud is still black. Can you help solve my problem? Thanks:*
Try path tracing / other render options :)
that's an option that fixes it for me in octane.
you could have use channels to separate both colors
What Bryce could have become.
Thx Dude, i loved your tutorial! !
this is the result!
