This is one of the most valuable speed up process of a project that I've ever seen. No nonsense information, just pure extraction of expertise gained throughout the years condensed into straight up 30 minutes of talk. That was amazing.
Well i'm from the scp short film, but what you just create is amazing and i'm happy that i watch it. That make me want to begin to learn how to create this landscape. THANKS
Super nice video. I know that the video is now old and you probably have a better workflow now, but maybe you wanted to know that you can select multiple textures in octane and then right click and add a transform or projection node to all of them with one click. Huge timesaver for me personally. Thanks for the video :) Especially the trick with the nulls for comping is super cool, never have i seen that someone do :)
Hello, congratulations on the great video! One question, are these presets from the program or were they created by you? and could you help me with how to export the heatmaps in the new version of WC? thank you very much!
Your work is seriously stunning and insanely impressive. No matter what you do I always love it. Also, I'm sure you get this question a lot and im sorry if im being a part of a broken record by asking, but do you plan to make any more SCP short films? You and Evan Royalty are my favorite short films creators and in a Q&A he said he MIGHT make one more and that had me a little sad. Would love to see a a continuation of the universe of the 096 short film with other SCP(s).
Also. When making a landscape. Would you recommend using Cm or Metres as the scale? Does it have to represent real world size or just the same ratios relevant in the scene?
Great tutorial. Quick question. I have to build a mountain scene in C4D. Animate the sunset fland out out around 720 frames at 12k and need to keep the file photo real as possible. Will using this technique still allow me to export to a render farm. Or is it a technique only targeting a still or small animation?
You'll probably run into Vram issues with a scene that big, so optimizing all of your textures and geo will be important. You may want to break the scene up into foreground mid and background and render seperately and comp later. Or make use of plates for really distant objects/landscapes. Hope that helps.
@@MrKlayVFX That is helpful, I am trying to re create what you are doing here with redshift, it seems like it will work the same or similar. Does making all the landscape textures in World Creator make more sense than just using standard redshift materials without their textures. Using some from quell or Pixel Labs. As I will need to output this to a render farm and already discovered they do not like the redshift tessellation.
@@critchee I would use the masks from WC, but to avoid repeating textures, use some type of chaos node (not sure about Redshift) to create variation in the texture.
17:39 in WC3 when following this step w the displacement map as the driver for matching the surface placement-- its off by a lot no matter the adjustment w height offsetting. frustrating.
Mr Klay can you make another film if SCP-096 and maybe this next film can be the end ut please make sure you end it and don't leave us on a cliff hanger thank you you are awesome
Hi, I’m just a kid with anxiety and have a fear of scp 096, the shy guy. I’m curious of how you thought of this and just wanted to confirm it’s fake 😄. So sorry for bothering you. I have 80hd dyslexia and anxiety. Have a great night. -ellis cutter ;-)

More of these. This was a great tutorial. Thanks for showing us your workflow.
Those „clouds“ are ingenious. Thank you. Learned a lot from your knowledge.
Would love to see your post-production workflow in depth next time. Learned a lot from this tutorial, thank you!
Noted! Thanks for watching
I love this.
Your work is the best
Insane work. Love this style of not caring to much about tiny details early on. Thats something i get stuck on.
Very chill video, thanks for breaking everything down!
Well this is epic
Legend. A full job description in one video lol ❤
Super cool! one of the best tut ever
Ive learned so many cool techniques watching your tuts! pls make more c4d/octane!! something scifi related would be AMAZING!
this was so useful! I'm newly learning cg, please make more tutorials/process videos like this if you can!
Every time better than the past one ;)

This is really informative and helpful. Nice one!
Glad it was helpful!
Need That BGM, so great!
Damn, and you haven't crashed once.
thats a miracle for me lol
Best Tutorial ever !

Hey! Great tutorial! How did you drag in your forester bush from one window into your original scene?
You can just copy and paste it into your scene. Our shift-drag the 3D project into your scene.

A new Kickstarter for Evan Royalty's new SCP Film just released today.
this is amazing
This is awesome.

I would always suggest sticking to real world scale, with landscapes meters probably would be best to stay with.
Very tutorial man !! Really interesting 😊
Wow🔥

MrKlay sir when is gonna be your next scp full movie or next episode?
1 question...is scene highlands02 included in version 2 or is your scene?
17:39 in WC3 when following this step w the displacement map as the driver for matching the surface placement-- its off by a lot no matter the adjustment w height offsetting. frustrating.
On the displacement mid level of your surface texture, is it set to .0?
I got one forestor tree and a low poly one too and my C4D scene is a laggy as can be... you must be super optimized I don't get it
Are you viewing the objects, or in line mode in an octane scatter? You can optimize the trees trunk and branch side count to help reduce polys.
MrKlay I would appreciate if you answer my questions could you show us your 096 face and will you make other scp films? Pls answer
610 fanfilm? 🌚
btw nice channel
Will there be a 2 scp 096 movie
Is it hard to get into graphic design and vfx? Besides the computer price lol
Not really, there's ton of online resources for learning, along with Blender being a free program to get started in.
please where can we get your ground maps?
This man is a chad. He doesnt use blender because hes too much of a professional

Good video!
Really shows how ya don't actually need any talent nor even middle level skill to do artwork anymore since it's literal ALL by computer.
Congratulation, you earned the "dumbest comment of the week" medal. :)
