You sir, are a natural. I'm a teacher and I'm telling you that you have a gift. Thanks for this tutorial, this was really great, please keep up this great work! I subscribed purely off of your excellent explanation of this process I've been daunting for a long time!! I didn't even realize it was YOU....from the NABShow!!! I'm so proud of you man!
This is really a great tutorial. Obviously, there is a lot to learn when you're new to Substance, but this video at least got me 'up and running' to accomplish what I needed to do for a small project. Many thanks!
Hey, I have a question if I may. What if my Cinema 4D model is in a subdivision surface? What should I uv unwrap? The original lower poly or should I make the subdivision surface editable and unwrap that to texture in Substance?
sorry but i dont understand why do u replace some polygons at 2:57. ( from Madrid ) thank you!!!! is that why some polygons turn into black whent the baking finish in substance ? :(
You have Adobe Dimension setting in Substance Export Textures panel, I don´t have that setting on mine... the exporting maps are other and different than yours...
Why did you delete all of your UVW Tags at 03:16, only to then have to laboriously go back in again, and create new UV's all over again? Why weren't the originals any good?
Stunning tutorial! Thank you for sharing man!. I'm curious about the complex model or even the organic model. Do you think it's gonna work perfectly like this or there's something that we need to tweak a little bit?
hi, I have a problem doing this with my model. It's an old gumball machine, and I have the gumballs made with cloner. I really don't know why, but if I hit "current state to object" it resets all the animation and it doesn't really work. Would you have a suggestion? I need to unwrap the gumballs UVs in order to texture them on Substance. Thank you very much for the tutorial, that was very useful :)
Great tutorial. Subbed. One issue is how do you add these to a material in C4D if you dont have Octane? Also looks like your using an old C4D version which still has Specular as a seperate option. Confusing now its part of Reflectance.
Hey, Great tutorial. I'm so glad I found it, but I'm having some issues with after creating the UV map. That I'm unable to paint on to the selected mesh in cinema 4d to make sure that everything was exported correctly. Hopefully you do see this soon because I have an assignment due soon.
Great tutorial! I followed your steps and my texture files apply but they seem to be not aligned or backwards. Do you know what could be causing this? Thanks!
Wonderful tuto, thank you ! I have a question tho. How to well apply the texture channels from SP into a normal material of C4D ? Indeed I don't have Octane. I tried to apply in a normal material of C4D but the result is not the same than my texture on SP. Thank you in advance !
Peter Machin Hi! I actually import my channels one by one in the C4D material once I have exported them from SP. Then you have to set up the parameters to have the closest result and for that, I advice you to have a neutral environment and good lighting to see how behave your texture. Unfortunately it’s longer than doing through Octane but this is the only way I found. I really hope these softwares can better complete each other. Good luck !

Any thoughts on how I can let the groudn metal shines through where the rust filter displace the red color?
could i do the same without octene renderer? Only with the cinema or corona renderer?
