First time I heard Led Zeppelin it was 53 years ago (I was 18 at that time) I could not believe what I was listening to, but I knew that this was something game changing. I saw them live the year after and I have never been to as good concert since. They are timeless classic!
Peter Grant was a genius!! Who else was doing music videos in 1969? That is why we have so many (Thankfully) live performances of these guys when we don't have that with Floyd, Stones, etc. - Grant was the reason we are able to enjoy this video almost 55 years later!!
Millie, Millie, Millie! How can you be a Zeppelin fan and not know this song? There whole first album is as good as this. Should play ZEPPELIN songs in your band. Loved your reaction. And love ÿour accent.
I saw Led Zeppelin perform this song for the first time in 1969 at the Rose Palace in Pasadena, California. Great band. I would see them a couple of times again at Arizona State University.
Led Zeppelin always hits you in the funny bone lol. “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” really features Robert Pants vocals. Great song and is actually a song written by Joan Baez. Zep does it in two fold folk then rocks it out.
It takes a couple of listens to catch it all, but this is an incredibly desperate love song. A man who has lost control of his own will to the love that has him in its grasp. And the performance is other-worldly! The greatest rock band ever.
This recording is from their first album, so this is from 1968. Plant and Bonham were 20 at the time. There is a live performance of this song in 1969: ua-cam.com/video/k-WSbMW7BPc/v-deo.html
I’m sure she doesn’t know most of their songs, to many reactors only listen to a handful, when they all are great. There’s only like two songs I’m not crazy about, the rest it’s hard to pick favorites, because I love so many.
The man for whom the term “ROCK GOD” was created. NO young girl/young woman would look at Jagger, Daltrey, MaCartney, Stewart like THAT. The voice, the look, the stage presence…the man was a “10”!

First time I’ve watched one of your reactions, very enjoyable. Five Zep songs you need to react to, in no particular order; When The Levee Breaks, Since I’ve Been Loving You (studio), Ten Years Gone, In The Light, Fool In The Rain.
Continuing to love your taste in the best of 60s-70s blues/rock/progressive genres especially this little 'ole band from England called Led Zeppelin... my first official rock concert in Aug '69 in Schenectady, NY (Aerodrome). This was part of Zep's first US tour after the release of their debut album, from which you chose this tune... I highly recommend you listen to the whole album - or select any of the tunes randomly without listening to it first, and play it for your review and reaction for your channel here. I guarantee you won't be disappointed! - Any tune. Enjoy.
Millie, since you are a Spaniard, I feel compelled to point something out, although you may already be aware of it. The chord progression in this song is based on the "Andalusian Cadence."
Just noticed that the bass line that is repeated multiple times throughout this song is very similar to that of Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4". Am I correct? The resolution of the line is different, but the first 15 notes or so seem identical. Millie: I am 67 years old and I also had not heard this song before. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
he was born august 1948, and if this song came out before August 1948 then he would have been 19, but 19 or 20 no biggied Plant was so mature sounding like on their first album at what 19 years old, holy S. Thanks!
Robert Plant may be gorgeous but you're gorgeous in your own way. But yeah man, this is long been one of my favorite songs by them and it's off of their very first album. It's got that weird mix unplugged and still really getting into it. And then his voice just slides all over the place and the lyrics themselves are fascinating to me. I have experienced this before as so many have, where are you really know it's probably better if you leave somebody but you're just so enchanted with them you can't bring yourself to do it no matter how hard you try. And then all the tension and self-questioning it comes from that. You can hear the anguish in his singing. It's so incredible.
Millie, listen to Song Remains the Same and Rain Song from the Madison Square Garden concert 1973. Never heard this song? really?? You need to listen to Led Zeppelin (the first album) where this song came from, and Led Zeppelin II (whole lotta love, ramble on, Heartbreaker, etc. Led Zeppelin III which has Immigrant Song! And of course Led Zeppelin IV with Black Dog, Stairway to Heaven, Misty Mountain Hop, Four Sticks, and more great songs!! Get with it cutie pie! And stop hitting your funny bone, even though it makes me laugh everytime you do! lol ~Bill

Jesus is Lord! Repent and believe the gospel. The wages of sin is death... but the gift of God is eternal life through His son Jesus Christ. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but God loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. None is good but God, we are all sinners in need of a savior, Jesus is that savior! Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. Nobody comes unto the father but by me." Repent, turn from your sin, and put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ who loves us so much that He was willing to be mocked, ridiculed, hated, spit on, whipped and lashed, receive a crown of thorns in His head and be crucified for us and all throughout this saying "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do." Jesus loves you, He died for you, but if you reject Him, He will reject you before the Father! Repent before it is too late, Jesus is waiting with His arms wide open ❤️
I don't understand why this band is so popular. If I want heavy music I find Led Zeppelins guitar tone to be too thin , scratchy and cold sounding. There is no real "tone" I associate with Led Zep, unlike with bands like Van Halen, Black Sabbath or Queen. Jimmy Page is a decent guitarist, if sloppy, but so what, there weren't too many good guitarists around in the late 60s so you were bound to stand out. Even in a band as derided by snobs as KiSS I'd pick Ace Frehleys playing over Page. Nowadays I would rate at least a hundred guitarists above him. Robert Plant lost his voice only a few albums into their career, meaning over half of his performances are hoarse barks. He's doing bluesy screaming, again so what. Far from being the first or even the best. His voice is quite feminine, and there were a lot of great female blues/ soul singers who sound more powerful than him. Plus his English accent sometimes slips into his singing, making his bluesy singing a lot less authentic sounding. And they did a considerable number of hippy type acoustic folky stuff. Well, some people don't like rap, some don't like string quartets, some don't like country and western and I don't like acoustic folk songs. Including Stairway To Heaven. John Bonham, a powerful drummer albeit one dimensional, but how many people listen to a band for the drums? Live albums from the 70s were infamous for their lengthy boring drum solos which nearly everyone skipped. Plus of course their copious plagiarism. Some of their songs are blatant stealing, like Black Mountain Side and Bron Y Aur Stomp, and some are them doing reworked versions of other peoples songs, like Dazed and Confused and .......well, virtually the rest of their first four albums. This song is reworking of an older song , covered by numerous people in the 1960s.
its not just the magnificent talent of the band, its also the way their songs were built and how they flow.

Led Zeppelin always hits you in the funny bone lol. “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” really features Robert Pants vocals. Great song and is actually a song written by Joan Baez. Zep does it in two fold folk then rocks it out.
The original was written by Anne Bredon. In truth though it has little in common with Zeppelins rewrite.
Baez didn’t write the song. It was written by Ann Bredon. Baez had done a cover of the song, which Page was aware of.
