Was not expecting it to sound so damned good. Really surprised. I LOVE the fact it has hydraulic steering. Also, it's a damned good looking car.

KEF is a high-end audio company based in Maidstone, UK. KEF actually stands for Kent Engineering & Foundry, who owned the land where the company made its base.
Lotus is basically the antithesis of straight line speed and drag racing, so pleasantly surprised to see it on this channel. These cars were built for the canyons and windy mountain roads, so hard to test that in Florida unfortunately. Awesome modern analog driver's car and sounds great too.
This is the car you need to bring up to the cabin. This would excel on Tail of the Dragon.

Great video. I've had my Emira 3 weeks and really enjoy it. I had a '23 M4 Comp Xdrive and a '17 911 S manual before this car. This car is definitely the more fun one to drive and you get a ton of attention due to looks. Like the 911 and M4, once it is broken in, I will only drive it in sport (and sometimes track) mode. The throttle response is much better.
Good to know, I considered a Cayman, or C8…, but opted for Emira. I’m not putting it in track mode til I reach the 1000 breakin miles.
Lotus did a hell of a job on this one.

This was a very entertaining and enjoyable watch… appreciate your time putting this review together. Looks like a real “drivers” car, small, lightweight, and just being able to hear the mechanical’ness as you sweep the rev range.

this is truly a drivers car. a nice, reliable engine from toyota with a nice sound, absolutely beautiful, no hybrid system, manual, hydraulic steering, rwd, i literally cant find a flaw

Yeah one of the best V6 sounds and you actually hear the decel exhaust note which is rare in this crackle pop world.
Sounds incredible! Wasn't expecting that. Only thing I can nit pick is that weird hood. Otherwise looks and sounds awesome! Can't complain about it having stick either. Awesome.

That spec, but with yellow calipers and white interior is what I had set up with sport suspension. But d delivery kept being pushed out so I let it go. Love the look and reviews of the driving experience is what has me reconsidering it.

That car is not in its natural habitat - grid city and straight line roads. It was not designed for acceleration or to speed, it was designed to be thrown around bends and hills. In that environment, there is NOTHING which comes close.

Kef speakers are a British manufactured high-end speaker. I have Kef in-ceiling/in-wall throughout my home. They are very nice speakers! I assume the automotive version are just as high quality!

Won't be the fastest car you own by far, but it will the most fun car you own. Super responsive chassis, go cart handling, lively powertrain. wonderful drivers car.
A bit heavy and wide, not really a lotus in that sense. Nice car, but a 981 S sounds better and more nimble

Thank you for an excellent review! As a lucky owner in Europe, mine is now 1 year old. I drive the FE V6 automatic with touring suspension, which is much better as a daily driver and to have fun on the imperfect European B roads. Or to do transcontinental drives in. Romanticism about the manual aside, just try the clutch in daily traffic and you’ll wish for an auto. The manual and auto boxes come with 6 gears on the Toyota-sourced V6. The i4 four cylinder from AMG comes only with an eight-speed DCT, without a manual option. I know my US and Asian friends have had to wait much longer than the EU customers, but you have more colour options. The car is simply sublime, whichever configuration you’ve ordered it in. Also, I believe the little fun valve you see on top of the engine in the rear view mirror is a valve on the supercharger, not a throttle valve. But it is fun indeed and gives you insight into the car’s mechanicals. Enjoy the car! And for whoever is waiting: it’s worth the wait.
Everyone wants a manual till they get into traffic. It can get old fast.

It sounds pretty good, with a exhaust you can make it almost sound like a V12. RevMonkey posted a video of his new Larini exhaust system a few months ago.
You can buy the Emira with two different suspension setups, touring is what you want if you want more comfort.
I'm waiting for the AMG semi automatic version.
I wouldn't get the manual for daily use.
Amazing sound.
Pedals are close together for double clutching with one foot, obviously a throwback track car for those that know how to rev match without computer aids

Def an absolute stunner of a car for the money. Honestly some supercharger pulleys and a tune to bring it over 500 hp would prob help , the 2.0t with 500 ish hp would prob also be pretty solid
So, like most buyers, I pre ordered one about 2.5 years ago in Verdant Green; missed the first edition cut, just barely. Dealer told me to expect a price increase and increased price for ticked options. Got the call about 2 weeks ago to check out a Magma red one that buyer backed out on, my 2nd choice for colors. I jumped at the opportunity, because I knew right away I was getting more for less. Saved about %12 or $15k and got a more highly optioned car. As is I’ve got about 700 miles on it 300 to full break in; heading to the mountains today…

Nice looking car! I recognize that switchgear, steering wheel from Volvo/Geely (Lotus now owned by Geely). Should be good quality. Infotainment must be running on the same system as the latest Volvo’s, I believe Google based. Nice interior step up for Lotus.
Toyota V6 isn’t too shabby sounding with a decent exhaust on it. This car may sell well considering the reasonable price for decent performance and quality.

V6's just sounds so much better than straight 6's and I'm sure the fact that its not turbocharged helps as well

Lotus is all about visceral driving and the connection to the road, it’s not about 0-60 or quarter mile times.

Sounds awesome. I've been looking at a Evora 400 for 79k but this is really nice. I've never bought a car that expensive but They hold value pretty Well.
Last Evora (GT?) has more power and less weight than Emira with the same engine and trans. They are largely the same car but I think the Evora is slightly cooler but not as exotic looking. Hope you get the 400! I'm looking at an Elise myself as a third car to join my Camaro SS and Fiesta ST.

Its a Lotus you need to show it some corners, thats its home, not straight line speed, take it to some canyons. Im glad Lotus got some investment and have made a come back, its a good little iconic British brand, light small wheel base, good handling is what Lotus was all about, thrown together in a shed, build quality wasn't great, but now they have got some serious Chinese money behind them and they already have 2 fully electric cars out, one is a hypercar with 2000 hp, who would have thought it. I just hope they keep making little cheaper cars like this (i know $100,000 aint cheap but looking at the car its a bargain. Its something that most people can actually look at and think yea maybe i might, just like the Jaguar F type, a really good looking sports car thats got a good brand, amazing sound and really good performance but its not a new house or half million like most super cars, its achievable
You can NEVER beat a mid engine, 4 wheels double wishbone suspension, Hydraulic steering rack and a manual transmission attached to a supercharged engine with the Supercar look all for around $110K. But it should not be you primary car since it's a Lotus😁 Picked my Magma Red up yesterday 😁

Kef makes a very good sound system. Did you get the car in Maryland? You have some very nice vehicles. Drive safe! The problem with boosting the upcoming AMG four is cooling. AMG gets plenty of HP, but it's a front engine car.
