Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is the best single-player star wars game since Knights of the Old Republic. If you've been waiting for a great Star Wars game, here it is. My Jedi Fallen Order review: amazing combat, rewarding exploration, metroidvania/Dark Souls progression influence, great soundtrack, solid narrative that measures up to the movies, fun platforming reminscent of Uncharted, great graphics with some minor hiccups, and some hit or miss bosses.
Bosses at their finest are excellent like Gorgara, Taren Malicos, and even the surprise Darth Vader boss fight. They aren't all great, but I enjoyed fighting the majority nonetheless. I think it'll be more fun to rank their difficulty first (and maybe quality later), so that's the focus of today's video. I hope you enjoy!

This video reached a broader audience than I anticipated, so if you're new, welcome! Since the a portion of the comment section decided for me that I both: a) lied and played on "Story Mode", and b) should've played on "Jedi Grandmaster," I'd like to elaborate on my difficulty choice. When I rank bosses in games with difficulty settings, I always go with whatever "Normal" is. I see that as the developer-intended experience for most players. For that reason, I feel it is the best baseline for a video that will reach thousands, or in this case, over a million. For Fallen Order, that was "Jedi Master."
If on the normal difficulty, I find bosses to be easier than normal, that's worth mentioning. I rank bosses from tons of games. Over time playing these games on normal gives me standardized context for how hard bosses tend to be for me in gaming as whole. In Fallen Order, they were a lot easier than most games I've played. Of course they become more challenging on the hard difficulty. That's the point, but it isn't the baseline I used.
If you found the difficulty of the bosses to be average or very challenging, there's nothing wrong with that. Your experience isn't invalidated by my own, and I'm no better than you for dying less to a boss in a video game. These videos are intended for entertainment and to share our collective experiences. I know I learned plenty from you: I drastically underutilized the force (pushing missiles for example), I had no idea about the bounty hunters being randomized (that's a neat design feature), and Oggdo Bogdo clearly claimed more victims than I could've ever imagined. Thank you to those of you who shared your experiences with me, and the majority who simply enjoyed the video for what I wanted it to be: entertainment.

Beeg Yoshi damage doesn’t change too much
@Beeg Yoshi Correct. The gameplay footage is my own, and I only did a single playthrough on Jedi Master until December: i.imgur.com/Pe6LUMK.png
i appreciate you making this comment :) thank u
I don’t get what people are saying. I played on Jedi master and although I definitely had a harder time with some of the bosses then you did I had an easier time in others. The damage looks like Jedi master to me. It basically comes down to what each individual person is good at that will decide how they do against each boss.

That boss game so much trouble and i dont know why, being that the majority of other bosses i killed were 1st try (on jedi master) but i discovered you could actually do a plunge attack from one of the holes above him and take half its health

The Darth Vader scene in this game has got to be one of the most memorable Vader moments for me. None of the movies, except maybe rogue one, show how ridiculously overpowered Vader is, and it just shows in the game that anything you try to do against him is meaningless
That's how Luke felt in ESB. He doesn't need to be ripping a facility apart to be really menacing, tbh.
Did you see him tear open that ship in Kenobi?! I thought it was epic 😲

Actually I am surprised, I thought I never see Darth Vader in this game. I am very excited to face him, but then I realize I am never gonna beat him 😅

Yeah, I beat the game and went back to bogano to collect the remainder of things, then the thing freaking killed me. It was embarrassing
i'm gonna be honest,I don't see how so much people find him hard.i beat him after 2 deaths.all you gotta do is parry and dodge, and his attacks are very easy to parry or dodge.
I didn't leave bogano until I killed it
Oggdo Boggdo was the hardest boss in the game, only because every single one of us idiots insisted on killing him within 10 minutes of landing on the planet.
I didnt, I somehow missed it in the beginning. I found it the second time I went to bogono
I won heh no deaths
I hadn't played a souls type game in awhile so Oggdo Boggdo fucked my ass up numerous times. LOL
He killed me like a million times but I kept trying and got more mad everytime I lost lol
Nah, I only found him way later. I didn’t even realise there were caves under the landing area lol
The AT-ST fight becomes more interesting when you realize you can force push the missiles back at it as well as pick up the grenades with the force and send them back. I also like the detail of the pilot climbing out after it's destroyed.
Yeah like in the force unleashed
if you hold push you can send all the grenades back at it
@@jant215he already said that

@@welby4296 Hah, silly oggdo! I have ALL health upgrades *dies in one hit* Seriously, all the advice in this video goes out the window on grand master. All enemies hit like trucks, the parry window is pathetic and the dodge window is even more useless than that. The funny thing about grand master difficulty is that it makes the beast bosses a LOT harder while not really affecting the rest of them too much. Well, at least not to the same degree. Grand master difficulty + Electrodaggers Purge Trooper? My own personal nightmare.
If anyone here thought themselves a boss for having played on Jedi Master and thought to themselves that Grandmaster can't be THAT much harder? Ha, yeah. Give it a try, I dare you. The difficulty multiplier is insane.
@@redshirt49 yeah, the electro daggers are my worst enemy. Fucking hate those things 😂
I found that I had a lot more trouble with Malicos and the giant bat than I did the Ninth Sister. She was tough but her moves were extremely predictable and slow. The giant Bat had a massive hitbox and would fill up enough of the arena to make moving around awkward. Malicos also had some erratic moves that would be VERY difficult to block or parry and his unique moves like the ranged attacks were hard to adapt to, especially with how small the arena was. Just my experience though I guess.
LOL Mal' didn't even harm me on easy. He was BS on normal, but I had no tolerance for having no instant retry, and having to get to him past enemies each time. Plus I saw you only get achi's for easy.

personally, I’d say the ninth sister is one of the easiest fights. the attacks are slow and really easy to parry(in my opinion) and if you get the skill with stims refilling your full force bar, you can spam triangle and just rip through her defense
i thought this too, arguably the easiest for me in particular
I was a dumbass and only had 2 stims until after ninth sister. I didn’t realize you could get more until I looked a little harder.
@@exodia_right_leg SAME FOR ME BROOOOO
See... I didn't know how to evade. Only how to dodge roll... so yeah. That fight was very difficult for me.
Yeah fr that’s why I was surprised when he ranked 9th sister above Malicos. She’s quite slow and cumbersome compared to Malicos who’s tricky and quick. Lost count at the amount of times he would fake a move and then attack quicker than I could think. Damn I raged so many times.
Love the fact they put Vader in there. Pure terror mode for me when I saw trillas face shift. I just knew what was coming. Solid Moment.

Well we can't expect this fluffy haired dude to be on par with Starkiller!
@@KratosisGod youre right but this was 23 years after the events in revenge of the Sith. Vader was no long in his prime and its pretty safe to assume the only reason Luke beat him was because he managed to pull Vader back to the light. And everyone knows a force user is very weakened when theyre having an extreme internal confliction over the light/dark. Its just like in movie7 when Kylo Ren was broken emotionally after killing his father then lost the duel to Rey

I wonder if inquisitor cal is considered a boss, also I find it interesting odd that albino wysokko was placed higher then the rapid Jotaz, I feel like the albino is a really easy boss. Just know the timing of the unblockable and parry the bites
My thoughts exactly
I'd say he counts
that's because you can cheese rabid jotaz in a safe spot
Yeah that was what I was thinking.
I'd say he's very much considered a boss. You can fight him after unlocking meditation training upon completing the game. Imo he's harder than any other boss I've fought and I played on jedi master the whole game.
The bosses I had the most trouble with were oggdo boggdo, taron malicos, and trilla at the end. It got so difficult for the last two I switched to story mode and then switched back after the fights
i did the same, not proud of myself though. gonna do another playthrough and bet em all on master.
Lol me too for Malicos and Trilla at the end🤣I finished it yesterday first time playing and the worst thing is I have only 2 Stims and I didn't get the ability that Stims give u force because I'm stupid so I was in a tough spot in every boss💀😭
I felt so much shame when I switched to story mode for the sith bosses but I had to do it cause I didn’t want to break my controller. 😅
On my first playthrough i actually got trilla first try somehow on jedi knight. I found out that force push is her weakness. And you can push, sprint strike to get in some good hits. On my second playthrough which was on jedi master i had trouble with her and took me 3 tries. As i was overconfident since i had one more stim canister, power of friendship and it was my second playthrough. And as we all know overconfidence can be a deadly foe.
I definitely died most do Oggdo Boggdo, I just couldn't stop trying. And Trilla was a trainwreck for me, after about 7 tries I switched to story mode as well, no shame in that. What made it too much for me was not being able to read her attacks properly, a problem I had with all Sith bosses. Red lightsabers + red glow for unblockables + seemingly random movement in the lightsaber... No shame in that though, at that point I just wanted to finish the game and wasn't enjoying combat as much as I hoped.
"Malicos only took 2 tries"
Me having a seizure over my 28th try
Preator_Vallum on my first playthrough it took more than 10 tries. Now on my 3rd PT I defeated malicos on my first try on Jedi master
I had to farm experience after 20 tries to defeat him finally
He took me like 15 tries on my first playthrough. Now I can solo him easy. It’s all about the parries.
I defeated him first try on normal
Took me 15 tried the first time took my 2 tries the second time I fought him Vader if I could fight him I would win cause I am obi-wan Kenobi *standing on the high ground*
After dying 9 times I beat Trilla with so low of health that if she tapped me I would’ve died. Then I heard Darth Vader and almost cried cause I was so low.
Oh yeah
😂😂😂😂
I killed her with (foolishly) only 4 healing canisters and basically 1 hp in the end, nearly rage quit like 5 times
I lost 15 times in jedi knight, then i changed to story mode
Same. Beat her on Jedi Master and finished the last 1/3rd of her health with 1/10th of my health with no heal. I was getting irritated because I tried hard to be aggro, to act like a true opponent to a similar Padawan and died like 15 times, but then I remembered I actually had double lightsaber attack. Two combo hits dropped her health so much it made my jaw drop.
Going through this game without realizing that parrying is the intended best practice makes it another beast entirely. I got through almost the entire game before realizing that I wasn't meant to be dodging and jumping in and out of combat, and it made the last few bosses so much easier than what I'd been doing.
The thing I love most about Taron Malicos is he is Spartacus. I instantly recognized his voice, the dual sabers, the emphasis on parrying, even his aesthetic. I loved it so much. I know the show wasn't super popular cause of the network, but I loved it.
Me: *finally defeats trilla*

Love how you used the Pontiff Sulyvhan OST from DS3 for talking about Taron Malicos - two duel wielding bosses that are a good level of difficulty!
Kind of a shame to learn that the bounty hunter types and names are random. One of my favorite memories is being ambushed, called pathetic, and getting kidnapped by a droid named Chonk.

Clown prince ah man that fucked me up, three times I got her down to 1 hit and she would flash, charge me and then do the force unblockable which would kill me 😢
It’s so unpredictable and was the main reason it took me so long
This game was extremely frustrating at times, for example getting lost during a mission or confused on a puzzle. But once you got most of the skill tree upgraded and a better understanding of the game I began to love it.
I found the ninth sister to be a massive brick wall in my playthrough. She smacked me down probably 20 times. Final boss didn't take me long at all, but maybe I was just better at the game by that point.
I couldn’t take the ninth sister seriously cause I just kept thinking she looked like shrek 😂

Easy: Every Boss in the game beside...
Hard: Oggdo Bogdo
Rob Neko I think Oggdo Bogdo is pretty much everyone’s initial fear, but they’re actually relatively easy to beat once you get the hang of things.
Justin there is only one oggdo boggdo
A Pigeon Correct. I’m sure everyone gets my point, though. The normal Oggdo aren’t any different than him anyway, in my opinion.
Yea true
Fuck that nigga oggdo
The Albino Wyyyschokk is by far the easiest boss in the game since you can kill it without landing a single hit. As soon as the fight starts, run into the water next to you and swim to the end of the passage, and then the spider will jump in after you and drown instantly.
It's always interesting what bosses some people struggle with and others don't. Ninth sister was a push over for me. I healed once the entire fight and didn't die once. Taron on the other hand was my hardest fight with second sister coming up real close on the amount of deaths

There are actually several of them so the one that catches you is the one you fight when you get captured
The 9th Sister was easily my fave boss. It was such a fun fight that I restarted it multiple times.
I love the fact that after dying once against the story bosses, you automatically skip the cutscenes. Every boss focused game needs to do something similar.

I dunno, kinda made it feel like cheating with the ninth sister cause you can double jump and get an aerial attack in after your first death.
@@dustinakadustin I suppose, but to compensate, as DeMod says, she pulls out the Rotating Blade immediately, which can throw you off and potentially kill you if you're not careful.
Yeah like Dark Souls
The Messenger does that too.
The first time you'll face the witty dialogue and so forth
But the other attempts are met with a 2 second animation followed by the actual fight
Does anyone here feel like '9th Sister' was a walk in the park compared to 'Taron Malicos'?🤔
EDIT: OMG chill out, I posted this back in November and on my fourth play through on jedi master and beat Malicos on my third attempt, compared like thirteen tries on my first play through on jedi knight. I admit I'm not a perfect gamer, but I'm not terrible.
Malacos was the hardest for me too. I actually found Trilla relatively easy. She's vulnerable to light saber throws also and if you have the precision dodge you can get out of the way of a lot of her combos while refilling your force for more lightsaber throws. She took me only 2 or 3 tries, while malacos took me easily 5 or 6.
The ninth sister wasn't that hard at all I think. She's especially vulnerable to slow during her unblockable bull rush. Step out of the way and punish her.
I have watched other people play and overall it seems ALL enemies in the game, be it little critter or hard boss have a skill they are vulnerable to. You just have to figure out what skills and moves you need to beat them. And that's a good thing.
I loved that about this game, that is makes all your skills and force powers actually relevant.
@@LeutnantJoker Well at least you were able to beat Malacos without switching to 'story mode' I'll probably play the game over again pretty soon. And perhaps I'll be better at it. I sure hope they make a sequel in a few years.

@@jbwolf4 Yeah big enemies are always slow it seems😂
The 9th sister was easy. That nigga Malicos though. Whole different breed. I need some of that power he was talking about. 🤣
I would like to say the albino spider was so easy. By climbing onto the ledge and jumping onto it you can use the move that the game gives you when you attack from the sky and your enemy doesn’t realise it. I defeated the albino in 2 hits with this.

Oggdo was the hardest for me. Same reason you stated, I fought him on the first visit so I was still figuring out mechanics and had no upgrades at all.
The first boss u mentioned,I don’t remember facing the bounty hunter.I used the shortcut heading back to the mantis and was intercepted by a droid or robot ,which is definitely much more powerful than the bounty hunter.just like the second visit to the wookie planet , i encounter the ambushers on the way down to the tree instead of facing them on my way back ,if you play as a hoarder and do alot of back tracking it actually unlocks some of these unpredictable perks
i played this on "Jedi Grand Master" and let me tell you this list looked a whole lot diffrent
Could you give a general ranking?
@@thecheck968 I played on grandmaster. All the animal minibosses would be the easiest, then bounty hunters that spawn randomly, then every trilla fight besides the last one, then 9th sister, malicos and Trilla
Michał C. I played on jedi master, but this was my first proper melee game, so it frickin kicked my butt. Gotta say, that would match up with my own ranking
Jedi grand master if you’ve played sekiro on the hardest difficulty is easy
Yea this list is mad weird. Idk why he played on Jedi Knight mode when he clearly can play on Grandmaster level. I do agree with him that most of the bosses aren’t really bosses. I don’t count any of the bounty hunters as bosses or even the buffer up monsters like rabid jotaz and nydak alpha except for Oggdo bogdo.
"He is pretty easy, just parry a lot"
I, who only dodges attacks: U wot m8?
yeah that was my biggest problem with some of the bosses. You had to parry.
There are always two types of players
It took me an hour, a few tears, and an existential crisis, but this boss fight forced me to master parries. AND THE TRILLA JUST FRICKIN YEETS RIGHT THROUGH YOU
TRUE LULW i only dodge attacks hahaha and uses R1 to illuminate dark spaces
Lol
The bounty hunters are different for everyone. On Zeffo when you are captured, there are three different hunters. Depending on who captures you, different bounty hunters appear on the planets, because different bounty hunters have died fighting you. For example, you were captured by Null Chance. I fought Null Chance on Dathomir.
At-st’s in mando: I can wipe out a platoon of heavily trained soldiers in a matter of seconds
At-st’s in fallen order: oh no please don reflect my lasers that’s op
The bounty hunter that captures you for the prison sequence is randomized.
I got the droid hunter
Is it possible to completely avoid that prison sequence if you just so happen to parry/evade every single attack?
Dunno
@@DonDeLem No. Around half health, he'll hit you with some sort of attack that paralyzes you, and then he defeats you in one hit, regardless of your health.
@@DarkXaven - Thank you
It would have been more realistic to have Oggdo as the final boss instead of Vader.
In fact, that would alter the ending.
Darth Vader cool though. I think people would prefer that
Imagine a fight between Oggdo and Vader
Maybe the weapon to defeat the empire was him all along? I hope they'll give us a DLC so we're able to explore his tragic past.
meedogh Pray you do not alter it further
Man it hard
Vader altered the ending pray he won't alter it further.
Funny story, on the train at the start of the game with the wheel spinning that you had to climb on, I never knew what to do until 2 weeks ago which before that I gave up for 3 years. I finally finished the game!
Fun fact about the AT-ST you can use your force push and push the missles and shock grades back at it making it take more damage
Me: “God, finally beat all these bog rats.”
20 seconds later: “Teach me your ways, Master Oggdo Boggdo.”

This guy: "Yeah, the bosses were easy"
Everyone else: *dies a thousand times trying to fight the Ninth Sister, Malicos, and Trilla*
Malicos and trilla are probably the only two difficult bosses tbh. This game is actually quite easy when you get the basics down and since hp of enemies isn’t buffed per difficulty level so enemies are Swiss cheese most times and die in one or two hits.
@@BigPapaSpeedwagon Absolutely, I played on Grand Master and Malicos kicked my ass. As did Trilla honestly.
DAAAMN I TRIED TRILLA AND MALICOS LIKE 12 TIMES EACH
I think it depends, wether you have experienced this kind of combat before. I finished Sekiro twice, played a good bit of for honor... apart from Trila, I didn't lose more than once on grand master against the same ennemy, while my friend struggled on medium difficulty. Honestly the parry window doesn't seem that different on grand master, and if there was a NG+ I think most of the people would find the bosses actually quite manageable
Broooo... I died so many times to many of these bosses. Especially Trilla and Malicos.

@Zaid Kola-Adebayo yeah this game is great but the bosses can be hella annoying especially on jedi master and grand master
@@ericdavidson9942 it took me three all you had to do was parry swing twice and run lol
@Zaid Kola-Adebayo ninth sister was easy for me cause I know it only took like 4 tries and I barely remember the fight ngl
I love Malicos for one reason, unless he's doing certain combos, he will almost always try to block your strikes. He felt like an actual fight because like a real person he would frequently try to stay alive instead of going for a killing blow
Malicos is stronger than the Second Sister. The game displays this by having Merrin helping you. And saving your butt.
@@70mavgr yeah, first time I played the game Malicos was the only boss I had to lower the difficulty for. The game cheats so bad with him. He can just make up twenty to thirty foot gaps to strike you with something unblockable and his block stamina can be at zero and he’ll just magically still block you. Second time playing through now and after probably 50 or so deaths I finally beat him on Jedi Master without having to lower the difficulty.
