Peru, like most of South America, is mind-blowingly beautiful. It's full of kind people, incredible scenery, and incomparable experiences. Please go as soon as you can!!
Yes it is. I've been 4 times. You can't take your eyes off it. My friend and I cry every time the plane takes off to go home. It's like PERU is our home.
Yes, Peru is gorgeous, but so is Ecuador, similar but with more roads than Peru. I've been 13 times to Peru and will take this train next May. Machu Picchu can be a life changing experience. I've been 4 times. He says Lake Titicaca is one of his favorite places in the world. It is for me also. These trips will open your eyes to the wonders of our world and make you questions how you are living, what you are doing back home. I ended up retiring to Ecuador, and, 16 years later, have not regretted it. Best wishes, and, yes, you too can do this. JUST DO IT!
Something that just a few people outside Peru know is that there is actually a quite big community of white Peruvians living in Peru, they are mainly in Lima, Arequipa, Piura and Pozuzo, ive met a lot of them, they have European descent from Spain, Italy, England, France, Germany, Poland, etc. I will give you the name of some white Peruvians so you can see it for yourself: Andrés Wiesse, our Nobel Mario Vargas Llosa, Manuel Gold, Sergio Gjurinovic, Claudio Pizarro, Olenka Zimmerman, Juliana Oxenford, etc.

I work in a kindergarten classroom and one year we had this little fella in our class who was from Peru....his name was Sammy and he was one of the happiest, most jovial kids I've ever met. Must have something to do with the high altitudes...whatever it is, he was a great ambassador for the Peruvian people ! ...miss that kid !
I did the day train trip from Puno to Cusco a few years ago, it was an absolutely enchanting day. The service & food was incredible, and I have never seen better views anywhere in the world. The weird thing was the negative reviews online - people complaining that the train was slow, that the seats were armchairs bolted to the floor rather than "proper" train seats, even complaining about the entertainment put on by the crew - I guess there is no pleasing some people!
Corrections...No pleasing Americans! People...trains are always slow. When was the last time you road Amtrak! 🤣I ride the train because it is slow and gives me time the rest and relax!

This was one of my favorite videos of yours. Thank you! Absolutely beautiful. I think the Peruvians are some of the most accommodating and kind people of our world.
Peru is the most beautiful country in the world! I'm from Spain and I also visited the country in 2018! the landscapes are wonderful, the culture, the food, its diversity, the kindest people I have met in my life. It absolutely must be on your wish list.
@@TheresaPowers Nope, Peru is extremely diverse! more than 65% of the territory is only Amazon jungle, it is the third country in the world with more tropical areas only after Brazil and Indonesia! The landscapes of the video are from the Peruvian Andes that represent 28% of the total of the country and it is also beautiful!
compared to Spain it is...Spain besides architecture, in my opinion its "glorious" cathedrals does nothing for me...not that I am impressed by them because they were built on the blood of those countries they burned and plundered eg.south american continent + ++++
The world is large and full of endless beautiful experiences. Unfortunately, we can't all visit everywhere! I'm grateful for UA-cam. An ingenious opportunity to travel round the world while seated.

It is good to spend money at local markets like the one at the whistle-stop at 10:00. Most people in rural Peru may look quaint and be friendly but they are not even middle-class. If you can afford the flight to Peru and even this train, you can afford to spend money on the products of the local people, ultimately they make up most of Peru.

This was recommended to me - no idea why - but it was stunning. I travelled, in my youth, to Peru and remember watching a group of lads playing football (Soccer) near Lake Titicaca, while I had slowed down my walk because I was feeling breathless. Peruvians are superhuman, as well as being super humans! It is a truly wonderful country and this, though brief, did it justice. Cheers!

I loveeee Peru! It is such a diverse country, it is the fifth most biodiverse country in the world. I just saw videos of the Peruvian Andes. Machu Picchu is wonderful and then I see a video of the only boiling river in the world located in the huge Peruvian jungle, now this desert!! Peru is fascinating! An important fact is that Peru is the 4th country with the most tropical areas in the world, only behind Brazil, Indonesia and Congo. The country is 65% jungle.

I've never seen your channel before but this was great. I visited Peru in 2009 (didn't use this train at all, though) and it always has a special place for me because the scenery is so utterly beautiful, the people lovely and the food is delicious. I have been on the Andean Explorer in 2012 and the journey to Puno was awesome! They served Chicha Morada and Pisco Sour. It was an amazing experience with the train chugging slowly through the mountains, reaching the highest point of 4050 mtrs (can't remember exactly the number) in La Raya, the mesmerising Peruvian Altiplano, seeing the tuk tuks in Juliaca and finally, the breathtaking view of Lake Titicaca before it grew dark. Long story made short....overall a 10/10! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.

Don't mind..I am an Indian saying this. We have read a lot about peruvian and Latam civilisation Like Mayas bring destroyed by Europeans and missionaries. Sad to see entire Latam converted and forgotten their roots. In India we too faced islamic invaders..we stood our ground...lost a few men to conversion but not in entirety.
@@kishoremali5547 Its not the same. Peru is born from the mixture of European and native culture. Like France is the mixture of Gauls, Romans and Germanic tribes, for example. While the sentiment is appreciated the Incas converted very quickly, 1 generation later most of the nobility was staunchly catholic. It seems the native religion was very similar in many ways so it made it easy to adapt.
@@kishoremali5547 You still have a lot to read and discover. I tell you in advance that many of the cultures, like the Mayans, are grateful for the European invasion. You have no idea how the Incas mistreated their people very badly. e_e Have a good day! :)
Perú is really awesome, the Andes magic, Arequipa is beautiful with the Misti front the city is "imponente" "y pocos tienen la suerte de nacer en una ciudad con tres volcanes" VIVA EL PERU!
I just discovered your channel, with this fabulous video. My trip to Peru was in 1987, to LIMA, CUSCO/MACHU PICHU, PUNO and AREQUIPA. Since we flew to each of these cities, I didn't see, except to Machu Pichu there/ back, the incredible landscape that one can see via train ride that you took. My partner got violently ill from the high elevation in Puno, unfortunately, but I didn't, thanks to all the MATEA de COCA that was served/ available in all the hotel rooms we stayed at, and even on AIR PERU. I bought a large hand embroidered art work on an island in Lake Titicaca that I still have framed behind glass, made from alpaca wool. And at our Swiss owned hotel in Puno, had a boutique that sold stunning alpaca wool knitwear. I am 78 years old now, and I still have 3 of the 5 hand knitted sweaters that I bought way back in 1987.
Peru has always been on my list, more so now after watching your experience aboard the Andean explorer. You're also so grateful about everything, makes your vlog better than most. Thank you!

@@anthonygunter4064 I'm guessing it's not American complaining. It's most likely from the high speed train countries. There's a certain country who always complained about the speed of everything

We loved Peru. People were friendly and so kind. Amazed by the wondrous diverse geography of Peru.
who is "we" ? some random ppl ?
It is good to spend money at local markets like the one at the whistle-stop at 10:00. Most people in rural Peru may look quaint and be friendly but they are not even middle-class. If you can afford the flight to Peru and even this train, you can afford to spend money on the products of the local people, ultimately they make up most of Peru.

Its not the same.

Frumos trenul si la exterior si la interior. Compartimentarea generoasa si bine amenajata, nu duci lipsa de absolut nimic. Mancare foarte buna si variata.Servirea ireproșabilă. Traseul o frumusete. As calatori ori cand cu acest TREN. Mulțumesc celui(celor) care au realizat filmulețul.
WOW! What a beautiful country! I enjoy watching your videos as I am no longer able to fly due to my health. These train videos are the best. I get to see more of the scenery of places I would love to visit and can't. Thank you for the wonderful train trip.
Peru is on my bucket list! I'm fascinated with the ancient ruins/monoliths. This looks like something I have to give it a try!!!!
and you feel you need to tell everyone why! xD everyone has thier own bucket list XD
