There have already been a lot of comments stating that we should have cut the pipe loose. We did consider that as a first option. The problem with that option was the amount of stored energy is the heavily twisted trailer. Even if restrained, it would have been dangerous for personnel to cut the straps & chains, because they would have had to be, more than likely, standing on top of the trailer. We did not want to take that risk.....period. Thanks for watching and God bless.

To cut the pipes loose safely, the load/trailer would have had to be lifted at least 1/3 to 1/2 of the distance to set it back on the wheels. Then it would have had to be sat down, the pipes released (remember at this point Ron has 2 winch lines on the load) which is not simple at this stage. Then re-rig to right the trailer. Now he has a full load of pipes to reload.

This has easily become my favorite video. Not for the length of the video. Not for the level of difficulty of the job. Not even for seeing the tator working hard. But rather for seeing 3 generations working together. I spent from August 2007 until October 2019 working side by side with my dad every day on our dairy farm. Now that I sold the cows and took an off farm job we don't get to spend as much time together as we both would like but those memories will last forever and new memories are to be made. But seeing you, your dad, Talon and Ethan all working together on a job just makes me smile and take a trip down memory lane. Working with family can sometimes be difficult but in the end it's always worth it. Thank you for putting a smile on this recovering dairy farmers face!

As a flight nurse and having been on probably as many wrecks as you have; I was admiring your "short person helper." It's the 1st time I've seen a n Yonex carry that piece of equipment. Could have used that myself several times. When I 1st started there was no "jaws of life" and related equipment. Our favorite tool to zip open a vehicle was chains and come alongs.. of course when I retired we had all that nifty stuff. I certainly wouldn't trade my first experiences and the lessons learned. It made using the modern equipment that much easier. Blessings!
    BTW....that was terrifying!!!

When I saw the time of this video, I thought "great! I can spread this out over 2 or 3 days!" I ended up watching it all in one sitting. It's been a while since I've seen a movie with this much action & suspense. Plus, it had an all-star cast! Only wish Mike could have been there too (sending prayers for him, his father & his family). Great video--keep 'em coming!

Just to let you know, I think it is great that you really listen to everyone's point of view and opinion on a job vrs just dictating what to do. That is a sign of a really good manager. One way, may not always be the right way.

Oh, my, Talon is of one mind with you. Pleasure to watch.
Also, the quick responding to your "halt, wait, stop," is precious. Been working for years on the grandkids to move or stop on command, no success
But the parents do, though they do not reinforce for me. Sad. Because this can be a life saver. STOP.

As always you did a great job. Those "things" are pipe pins. He had his trailer rigged totally wrong. In the oil field we put a quart inch by 6" flat bar all the way across the bed of the trailer. It is welded to the trailer on both sides. (One on each end of course). At the end is a pocket for a heavy pipe 5 feet tall. ( the bottom of the pocket has a support bar or angle welded to it and back to the frame of the trailer. )The reason for the flat bar across the bed is it ties the two sides together and prevents spreading. Those little pipe pins placed in the pockets of the rub rail will twist and break those little pockets Ron. You had a right to be tense and if you knew what I knew about hauling pipe you would have been supper tense relying on those pockets in the rub rails to hold that weight -- PLUS the tension you were placing on them by moving the pipe under stress against them. Pipe is indeed one of the most dangerous of solid loads to mess with. Had my right leg crushed by huge dredge pipe in the mouth of the Mississippi River back in 75'. God bless you and your family. I sure would like to meet you and your "crew".

Loaded flat-beams lying on top of each other have surfaces and lots of friction; but circular pipe sections only have a single point of contact so not any friction, so they will roll around first chance they get.
What probably happened here is that taking the bend caused the pipes to roll around each other. Once that started the load got out of static balance and the rest, well...Ron and his trator!

Nice job Mr. Pratt and KUDOS to you and your whole crew. I really enjoy watching uour channel. I was on the edge of my seat watching you recover the car on the snowy icy road at the bottom of a hill with the car leaning over the edge of the revine. You did one AWESOME job on that recovery. I was also impressed with the driver of the car that stopped and waited for you to finish the job. But that is how us southern folk are. COURTEOUS ALWAYS. GOD BLESS & GODSPEED to you and your crew and families. 🙏🙏🦺. I been around trucks all my life and have driven evrything from a box truck to a lowboy. Learned how to drive sitting on my uncles lap in his 1948 Mack with a 4x4 2 stick Brownie Transmission. Been driving all my life its the only thing i know that and operating any piece of equipment ever made. Hope yo make a trip down to Missouri some day and would love to see THE TATER up close.

I have been watching your videos since last Summer. I really enjoy them. Whenever you respond to a bad scene and asked for prayers, I thought it was silly because by the time I watched this, everything was over. Then God hit me upside the head. God is so good, that when you were out there cleaning this up, he knew I would be watching this video before you made it. I underestimated how good God is. I feel silly for that, but you and God taught me a lesson. I will continue to pray for the folks in your video. Stay safe.
