    I own a scrambler 400x and have clocked over 4000 km. I'm telling you honestly, it's such a lovely machine to live with. It will never let you down, no matter how bad the roads are. I agree that headlight illumination is very poor, so aux lights are recommended. I dont see any issues with the front brake (organic) because it saved me a lot while riding over mud and sad. It should be progressive, and it was given for a purpose. So, that can't be a problem. And of course, many people find the side stand annoying. But the above-mentioned problems in my comment are not a big deal at all. Apart from these, whatever you are saying is just an unnecessary complaint. Your complaints are the very character of the bike. Single-cylinder engines tend to vibrate, and that's their nature. This bike is very refined and smooth compared to other bikes. You won't even find these vibes bothering you, even if you're revving to it's limits. And of course, if it's 400 cc, the engine will heat up, and you have to live with it. But the heat is manageable, and the heat doesn't directly blow on your legs. It's well designed to push the heat away. The seat height is not at all an issue. Short riders should learn to ride tall bikes instead of blaming the design of the bike. Scramblers are meant to have tall seats. I don't see any deal-breaking issues here. It's such a lovely machine to live with.

      Yes I agree your point bro, even I did my test ride today, its such a lovely machine, powerful and grunty, with just 2.7lakh they are giving international level quality and details, but people always expect more and he is complaining some points which are not at all cons for this bike

      Probably the purpose and the audience of the video is misunderstood. What I'm trying to share is everything that could be a POSSIBLE problem for people, most of these characteristics do not bother me for example - not even the headlight - which is why I said in the description that I'll buy this bike again if I get a chance. I understand the video discussed only negatives, so some of us may get an impression that I'm trying to pull its credibility down, we'll discuss soon why I love it. That said, I have a few comments for some thoughts you shared, will put them down;
      Brakes - Like I also mentioned, purpose built, but you cannot take away the fact that the bite is not suited for Indian highways. Hope you never get to witness it, but one incident of an idiot jumping the signal sent me straight to service for getting the pads swapped. I enjoy offroading, so I have the originals with me to use when I want.
      Vibrations- For Indians who will graduate from CBZs, Pulsars, Apaches - yes there are vibrations, this is something that depends on your reference point. Coming from a cb350, I sense a lot of Vibrations. Riders coming from d390 might find the bike comparable. Europeans too. But again, majority of Indian bikes are not running high compression like the dukes or the triumph so you may understand the perspective.
      Heat - if it will be a daily use bike for some of us, they should consider the problem.
      Seat height - Again could be a potential problem.
      I'd love to know what you think could be potential problem for people considering this bike (except headlight) and if you cannot name 5, you are in blind love ❤️

    90 kph comfortable top speed!!?? Sounds like a major deal breaker.

    • @harshit_chugh
      @harshit_chugh  3 місяці тому +8

      Yes, consider 90kmph a cruising speed where engine will feel it's best. For short bursts or when you are in mood for some fun, you can go much higher obviously.
      And the best part is that even when cruising at 90 @ 6th gear, the response is almost instantaneous when you open the throttle.
      Also, would like to share my reference point is the honda cb350rs, which is literally the king of refinement. 😅
      My co rider who rides the old Himalayan, said while vibrations are noticeable, they are not bothersome.

    • @gauthamsv7628

      120 kmph is also comfortable, If you hit 140kmph+ you still left with more throttle left to hit.

      I keep wondering why people complains or even mention vibration for a 400 CC liquid cooled short stroke engine. These are meant to vibrate. If you consider CB 350 as a point if reference then I must say it is utterly wrong as CB is an air cooled long stroke engine . Single cylinders are meant to vibrate. If anyone has issues then they should upgrade to online three or four or least a parallel twin.

      @myselfyuvi 2 місяці тому +1

      I feel it's just a thing to get used to. If you are coming from a 150-200 cc segment and start expecting similar level of quietness from this engine then you'll get it till 80-90 kmph. Above that engine does start getting buzzier but the bike or the chassis doesn't feel stressed. You can easily Cruze all day long at 120kmph it's just that your engine will make more noise as compared to 200cc bike (which is quite logical as well).

  • @raynesispearl2650
    @raynesispearl2650 18 днів тому

    Heat is managable, yes its a short stroke engine but i think u could manage 110-120kmph with slight buzz on the handlebars, aux lights are definitely recommended, and the knuckle guard is useless needs ro be replaced, i know barkbusters are good for this bike but it's kinda expensive for me right now. If anybody knows a better affordable knickle guards for this bike please do share.

    Your opinion may support me to take a final call on my buy 🙏

    • @harshit_chugh
      @harshit_chugh  3 місяці тому +8

      Thanks, I'm glad you liked the video. 🙂
      I had the honda cb350rs earlier, sold it about two months ago. When I bought the cb350rs, I was coming back to biking after close to 9 years so you can imagine how much fun I had on it.
      You haven't mentioned what is the purpose of your purchase, but you rightly said that these are two very different bikes. I'll give you my general comments / impressions around both bikes since I don't have a lot of background here.
      What worked in Honda's favor is first and foremost the engine's refinement, it is really impossible to ever feel that it is in stress. Even at redline, you'd not find a reason to complain about vibrations or harshness. In fact, this is why I did talk about vibrations in this video; standalone the triumph is good, but Honda is in another league altogether.
      While I was purchasing cb350rs, I didn't realise how drastically my use case will change and I'll actually start touring on a bike. On the mountains, the excellent slipper clutch, the long gearing, the refined engine just made it a blast to ride on twisties, until you witnessed a steep slope where the long gearing made life difficult for the bike. Espc downhill, this bike was fun to the point that I'm smiling while writing this comment recollecting my memories. But what you should consider while thinking of Honda is that it has no torque rush (like the REs or the Triumph400s) so it might happen that you'll outgrow the bike really quick. That is what happened to me. The engine and the gearing combo lacks something I cannot explain (maybe some character?).
      Compared to Triumph, the honda was a long stroke engine so it had a mature feeling about it, the triumph is more young blood it feels. Also, the exhaust note is superb on the cb350, but its not too bad on the triumph either. The extra bonus on the honda was the exhaust pops and barfs when you were redlining it. That is missing in the Triumph (but maybe a performance air filter might fix it, video coming soon 😉).
      I can expand more on both bikes, but I guess you are looking for the conclusion, which is that I'd buy the Triumph. While Honda has its goods and bads, I feel the triumph is just more bike per rupee.
      I'll conclude by sharing that except the exhaust pops, I miss nothing much about the Honda right now. But I haven't experienced enough of Triumph service yet, so that is to be seen.
      Oh btw, if you going to use it as a daily ride and stay in Blr or Mumbai or a place where it rains frequently, do know that the cb350rs would spoil your shoes, pants and bag. Almost impossible to ride it without the mudguard extender, which is ugly IMO. Likewise if you stay in a hot or humid place, do consider that the triumph heats up substantially more than the cb350rs.

      Dear Harshit,
      First of all many thanks for your Immediate response.
      Appreciate your thoughts & detailed reply.
      I have taken a test ride of CB350 Highness & was impressed with the performance especially the smooth stress-free motor.
      My inclination is towards Honda CB350 Highness. Also I have been using Honda Stunner for last 16 years & have confidence in Honda engine reliability backed by good service support. Motor of stunner is still butter smooth.
      My use shall be for city commute & long touring purpose. Maybe once a year North offroad ride, which I haven't yet explored. Hence, I was thinking of a bike more for comfort & relaxed ride.
      I shall be taking a test ride next week in Triumph showroom next week for 400x in Thane. Will be able have much clarity then I guess.
      Once again thank you for revert & wish you a nice weekend.
      🙏👍🙏

      @harshit_chugh  3 місяці тому +1

      No problem at all, hope you'd make the right choice. With the use case you mentioned, I personally think Honda would suit you more, its easier to ride overall (approachable, quick enough, smooth / moderated engine braking unlike triumph, has the most vibration free engine in this class right now, decent enough suspension, light(est) clutch, smooth gearbox), this bike has almost all going for it.
      Plus if you keep your bikes for such a long period, there is no other contender.
      Good luck Vaibhav!

    I own scrambler 400x and what he is saying is absolutely correct. bike was sold on fit and finish but this bike is no where close to fit and finish.
    there are more prioblems which is not in the video like
    1 under 5000km the engine is started to make noises typical bajaj engine sound of tak tak like tappet sound.
    2 chain rusting issue. i have rode 500km and finished 3 cans of yama lube chain spray even then the chains got rusting and once it is rusted there is no going back .
    3 service depends city to city in indore it is third class the mechanic doesnt even have khonwledge of what is wrong with the bike.
    4 fell off from scrambler at a speed of 20kmph and handle bar got bent and bike is now leaning to right side visited multiple time to service center but no solution.

      @harshit_chugh  3 місяці тому +2

      Hi, difficult to answer through the comment section but sharing my 2 cents either way. 😆
      I think what you should answer first is what's your riding style. I was talking to someone yday about how triumph is absolutely an opposite of d390. While duke is super fun if you like to ride throttle full open, triumph has most of its strengths shown at lower revs. The end result is that d390 is crazy fun when you are in the mood and when you have an open road, and triumph is fast in most situations WITHOUT AN EFFORT.
      Duke will hurt you because its just damn fast for Indian situations.
      Triumph will hurt you because it's so effortless and less intimidating than any other bike that you'll start doing a higher average speed than usual.
      End of day, do a lot of test rides, like multiples and see which one you connect with the most.
      On most things that you've mentioned, i think both are comparable (except vibrations on duke are apparent at lower revs and on triumph when you rev it high, and duke is lighter).
      Good luck, hope you'll make the right choice for yourself!

      I think aap bhi jaise aur kms karege apni scrambler pe you will realise ki koi machine perfect nahi hoti, just that wo aapke liye sahi honi chahiye. 🙂

      But if you do have a specific question, type here! I'll try to help.

    Iam a guy who is on heavier(95kgs)
    and taller side(5.11)would i consider speed 400 for my daily basis in life and do this bike looks really small on heavy people i really love the fit And finish on triumph motorcycles🫤 what are your views please comment

      Speed would def look small on you, but if you can oversee the visual aspect, its a good bike. I think scram would look good on you, and it's mostly better than speed on all aspects.
      At 95kgs on a 5'11 frame, I don't think it would look too bad on you, espc if you will ever put a side bag / luggage system. 😀
