- A quick, easy, vegan recipe for healthy, nutritious and delicious energy balls. These tasty chocolatey snacks have a lovely moist texture and are ideal for a simple snack between mealtimes, post-workout or on the go. Ideal for pregnant mums to help naturally maintain blood sugar levels. Protein is also vital in pregnancy to help protect against pre-eclampsia, and frequently eating small, healthy snacks has been known to help ease the symptoms of morning sickness.
Recipe tips: * For a smoother consistency, blend the nuts and coconut oil together first before adding the other ingredients.
*To roast raw almonds, simply spread them out on a baking tray in a preheated oven (gas mark 7/ 220C) and cook for 15 minutes.
*Store these energy balls in the fridge and eat within 5 days.
*If you don't have carob powder, then cocoa powder is another great vegan alternative (opt for the sugar-free type).

do you know the protein content per ball for this recipe?
it looks like a recipe that I could make to replace buying pre packed fruit and nut bars which will be great to help my Zero waist and healthy eating balance, thanks
Hi there! I have no idea I'm afraid, I'd need to do some maths! I believe that almonds are around 1/5th protein if that helps? These are brimming with nutrients, and delicious too.
