You are actually the moron if you don't realize the swift driver had no obligation to go any faster while in the slow lane. That other truck on the left should have passed or go out of that lane.
technically it was both lanes, had any truck lost control the one on the left was gonna do as well. Only somewhat smart guys were cammers, but not so much to take even more distance. Then once the right swift backs off they stayed in a bad spot as the left swift went on to pincer the angry trucker along a lane, so now they had to get the f away from 3 truck lenghts of road
I have seen this behavior on I70 through Ohio all the time. Two trucks side by side for mile upon mile and neither giving up. Now I drove 80 just the other week and everyone was courteous. Trucks passed when they needed and no one got trapped in like this video. It was actually pretty surreal.
You're full of shit. It was the trucker who was camping in the passing lane who was causing a dangerous situation. The other trucker was right where he was supposed to be and minding his own business. If you cannot understand this very simple concept then driving a car must be a very complicated endeavor for you and you have no business behind the wheel with that mentality.
@@SV_Z13 Actually, both swift drivers are in the wrong here. Firstly, if you know it'll take you years to pass another truck? You DON"T do it. Now if the passing driver decides to pass like a moron, you drop your speed by a mile or two. Doesn't matter what you drive, it's dangerous to be next to a semi for long periods. Even in heavy traffic / stop and go. I stagger myself so trucks are behind or in front of me. You never know when they need to lane change. If you are on the right there's the possibility they don't see you. As a truck driver I make every attempt to pass on the left and try an make it very clear that the truck riding the middle lane needs to move over and not look like a dumbass. The sensible ones move over but most aren't. That brings me to driver 3. Dumb move, but any person with even half a brain would immediately slow down and avoid the risk of becoming a sandwich to two semi's. Almost happened to me once going through a 3 lane construction zone. Doing the usual 5 over limit and here comes trucker 3 flying, and I mean flying, down lane 3 and couldn't wait 15 more seconds for me to get by. Had i not hit my brakes his trailer would have hit my truck as the lanes barley had the room for 1 truck so i was riding the dotted line to pass safely. Mind you there was no other traffic for miles behind us either.
@drew michael the couple kept a safe distance and they were trying to pass.... if they were wanting to go slower, I am sure they wouldn't have caught up to the situation. Traffic is bottled because of the truck slowly traveling in the left lane.... don't blame this adorable couple because some big rig driver doesn't understand traffic or is purposely messing.
Mergrew 01 that's to be expected. Most of the swift retards that haul some of our freight either have no teeth & have not showered in a few weeks or they barely speak english. Any company who hires shitbirds like that is going to have a crappy reputation.
So true😬 auto drivers don’t have a concept of how long it takes to stop one of those Big rigs. If they lose it & tip the 🤬is going to come flying right through your windshield☄️💥🔥
ppl keep commenting about the truck on the left holding out the traffic but in most cases is the vehicle on the right that causes this mess. ppl have no idea how many slow trucks/cars would do 50 on the right and when somebody trying to pass they would accelerate and boxed out the vehicle on the left.
That's also a valid point. The moron in the left lane would get the blame by default, but sometimes it's those idiots on the right playing games. Never understood WHY THE FUCK!!!!
l'm in Canada, l've never seen trucks block the road that way. l've mostly observed truck drivers to be very courteous. l would give a huge thumbs up to the guy who went on the shoulder -- from a safe distance back! Love that he slowed the one truck down tho l know it was the one in the left lane who mostly deserved it. Much love for all the drivers who bring food and other essentials to southern Ontario!!
You are wrong on both counts. Truck on right should have let outside truck go around and the truck who passed on the shoulder is a total idiot and should have been arrested and not allowed to drive commercial vehicles ever again. I have over 18 years and 3 million miles driving a semi truck.
@@pn1457 you totally do not get what I was saying. The guy in the left lane need to put on enough speed to pass the regular Lane which is the right. I was complimenting the guy who managed to get by by doing something unconventional on the shoulder. Although not the safest maneuver! Anyway all trucks were not behaving very responsibly.
@@TraceyMush you made perfect sense. Truck in left lane had zero situational awareness, that's being considerate to not accuse them of deliberately blocking the road for everybody. left lane is for PASSING. for fun, do the math on JackHole pn1457, 7.7 hours a day driving, 7 days a week, 30 days a month, non stop for 18 YEARS to get 3 million. invalidates their "profeshunull opinion" what a JOKE. peace.
I did this today. Im not a truck driver, but I saw 2 truckers next to eachother. The one in the right lane didnt want to let the other trucker pass by. So I got infront of the trucker with my car on the right lane and forced him to slow down so the other trucker could finally pass by. The other trucker gave me a thumbs up. At least he wasn't JUST thinking of himself...He slowed the right lane down so traffic could get around...Very noble of him...You don't find many thoughtful truckers nowadays...They used to be the first to help...They've become more selfish like everyone else!!
@@tchevrier I came up with that idea through the fact that he got in front of the truck in the right lane and and slowed him down.. causing him to put on his brakes.. @@Ms.tur.E. Yeah but unfortunately he wasn't thinking about how dangerous it was to pass on the shoulder, or how dangerous it was to tailgate a semi while driving a semi, or how dangerous it was to pull in front of a semi so closely and force him to hit his breaks. We've all seen how dangerous it is to break check a semi. He should have know that. Seriously, can you imagine what would have happened if he put a wheel in the ditch during that pass, or contacted the other semi. That could have been one nasty pile-up with a lot of dead bodies. Yeah, he probably was thinking, but its pretty clear he wasn't thinking it through completely. He had other options available. Flash headlights, get on the CB, call the Swift dispatcher, call the police, or.... And this is a big OR. Chill out and relax. the 5 minutes saved in travel time could spare lives.
@@tchevrier True on the dangerous....I thought the same thing...passing on the right is illegal here.. but if his wheel had gone off... It could have been disastrous... I don't know what options they have OR which ones that were used before he went around.....Seems like the two swift trucks could have communicated with each other and brought an end to the road block..
Heavier Traffic and few drivers return the courtesies, or even NOTICE that someone WAS going out of their way to be courteous. The Pros are tired after fighting traffic all day and night for a week at a time.
Swift Trucks are Governed at 61 MPH. Those two Swift Trucks had NO BUSINESS blocking the Interstate. The Speed Limit is CLEARLY Marked at 75 MPH. The SWIFT truck in the Left Lane had NO Business being there.
Terry Waters at the time this video was made, they were governed at LESS than 65. Swift company trucks were governed at 60 mph on the pedal and 62 mph on cruise control. cdllife.com/2017/swift-transportation-increase-cruise-speed-65-mph/
A company called Lee Way used to recruit heavier than just about anyone today, they would send out bus tickets to come to one of their terminals & "Learn how to become an OTR driver." I think that "Attitude"....Respect for others & an acknowledgement of courtesy towards what experience brings to the table is what's missing. I see the lack in so very many crafts from young people today.
All 3 truck drivers should have their licenses pulled that was just stupid putting other people in danger where was the state troopers when you need them...
Many semi trucks are governed at 65mph... If a truck is struggling to pass I slow down... a lot of truckers wont... I understand your frustration... tailgating a truck is never a good idea! Car drivers scare me more than other truckers because of how erratic and impatient they can be... Stay safe!
No… the swift drivers were the complete idiots here, they drove miles and miles and miles blocking both lanes which creates a line of cars behind them…. Likely thirty forty or more, pissing most of them off. With that many pissed off people accidents are going to happen. LEFT LANE IS FOR PASSING ONLY…. If your truck is governed and you can’t pass, CLEAR THE EFFING LANE. The third driver knew this and pulled a blockheaded move to teach those idiots a lesson… and it worked. Both of those swift drivers need to stop driving, they’re a menace to society.
Oh man! I LOVED the couple who were narrating! They are the salt of this earth! Both so sweet and genuine 🏆 “Give him the thumbs down when we go by” (🤣one of many gems throughout)! With SO much road rage, meanness and deliberate cruelty on the roads nowadays, it was quite refreshing to see the exact opposite in this couple🥇 Bravo folks👏🏼 😘
“Give him the thumbs up” “Give him the thumbs down” They are so sweet and cute. Their display of “road rage/aggression” is nothing like in Hampton Roads (where someone will curse you out, follow you home, and attempt to swerve you off the road) lol
ItsABriMoment Girl, yesssssss honey....I was stationed in that area and had to go to anger management 3 different times foolin' with folk! I'm that one that would follow a person home cuz they wanna play games with actual CARS🤣😂🙌🏾
We had an old CB radio. Dad took it with us on all the long drives. He had a long magnetic antenna he'd attach to the hood or the roof. We'd hear all kinds of crazy conversations. Dad used it to warn the truckers behind him that there was an accident ahead and everything was moving to the right lane so they wouldn't get stuck. We used it the first year we went to Disney world. My dad had his and my papa had his on as well. We'd talk back and forth all the way from Wisconsin down to Orlando. Fun times. Miss that old CB
The couple that videos this are fantastic and pure. Their version of road rage is a thumbs down, and even a thumb down concept seemed foreign to the lady. What beautiful innocent people.
As someone who has lived in different parts of Asia, I find this hilarious at best. You guys need to see the world before freaking out over such little things lol.
You sound like a true fool. Because you live in a place where life is meaningless (yes some of us know how deadly the roads are in Asia) you think everyone else is silly for carrying about lives... Sit you barely civilized ass down somewhere and stay out of adult conversations.
When I drove for Freymiller it didn't take us that long to pass a swift truck. And we sure as heck didn't have time to follow him. Great outfit to pull for.
I did something similar in Arkansas several years ago. I had just started an 1,100 mile drive home, and these two idiots in cars decided to block the interstate, driving side by side. I, along with an increasing line of drivers were trapped behind them, and no-one else would do anything. I worked my way to the front of the line, and when we came upon an entrance ramp, I used the acceleration lane to pass the idiot on the right, darted back in front of him and braked hard. The idiot on the left went by, and the entire line of cars weaved through the gap, most giving me a thumbs up as they passed.🤣 That whole line of cars then let me go right on by as I caught up with them. 👍 I was the hero that day. 😎
This is a true story, i know you will laugh. So one day I'm coming up I-65 going north out of Indy and there was a blockage just like this. For about 10 minutes nobody could get past 2 vehicles side by side holding up both lanes going 60 in a 70. So i weave my way through everyone and i finally get up there and it's not 2 trucks, its 2 older shuttle vans with stuff written allover the sides, i get closer and i kid you not! It says, "midget wrestlers from Houston" allover both vans! I died laughing, but neither one of them would move, they were swerving and acting up! So the next chance i got a clear shot, i passed them on the shoulder and yes i know better than that, but it had to be done. I didn't slow either of them down, i just kept it hammered and never saw any of them again on my way to Chicago.
You know, Im a trucker out of Ontario Canada. I see this shit happen everyday. Two trucks side by side with speed limiters fighting it out. I've seen cars do What the truck did on the shoulder but thats the first time I see a trucker do it. I was just praying He would make it and not get into an accident. That was very dangerous but He did get his point across, which is the same thing cars are saying. If you cant pass quickly, dont pass at all. Both Swifts are at fault here. The one on the left for even trying to pass and the one on the right for not slowing down a bit to let a coworker pass him more quickly. This is What speed limiters will do across all the USA If they become mandatory. Add ELogs and all hell will break loose. Ah the joys of Trucking today.
I think most larger companies have limiters. With smaller companies it's random. When they buy used trucks they usually don't bother taking the limiter off. I worked for a small company (10 trucks) and most trucks had random limiters. One was 63 (Volvo sleeper), other 73 (International daycab), two others (Volvo and International) were 67. Some had no limiter. Mine (Volvo sleeper) was 65 until they swapped the transmission out, then it had no limiter.
No joke! Ignorant people don't understand that the driver that passed on the right put everyone on camera in real danger and was totally in the wrong. Self absorbed people like you don't understand that until there's a fatality. You two people in the car deserve a "thumbs down"!
I would have loved the hear the CB traffic. The lady says these truckers behind us are probably wondering what is going on. No lady, I’ll bet you hard money that someone was egging him on... Not thinking the idiot would actually do it!
Nothing more aggravating than a rolling road block bunching up traffic. No common courtesy on the road anymore. The safety gurus create near as many unsafe conditions as they claim to fix. Many states gave got away from split truck and car speed limits finding it unsafe ,while companies like this have governed down their trucks and states have raised interstate speed limits. 29 years on the road and have always felt to slow is just as dangerous as to fast.
Charles Vickers I drive a slow truck but agree 100 percent. The law should step in and overpower these insurance companies that coerce companies to limit their trucks.
BT's are boss mm's lick my balls oh believe me, I paid union dues for the better part of 40 years. When it comes to working for a living, the only thing worse than union corruption is someone that thinks that reality absolves their scab guilt.
I am a UK trucker and I see this a lot where there are only two lanes ....if truck is trying to overtake me I slow down and let it pass .....and not create a rolling road block.
Charles Rochfort same here. Got 2.5 million long haul miles in the States. If someone has a right to get by I.e lighter load or a bit faster govern then just let em by.
Charles Rochfort I do same but the Swift truck on right probably not even looking at his surrounding or back mirrors to see all the traffic behind them
I'm a retired EMS helicopter pilot, and I used to fly a fair share of mva patients from the stretch of Quartzite to Phoenix. Long, straight, sun in your eyes 👀 , kinda boring. Then that one time when a full Greyhound bus rolled. Yikes 😬😬
@Huma17 na, that swift truck on the left was holding the lane purposely....you can tell, because as soon as that guy took the right shoulder the swift truck noticed him and started speeding up....the issues probably started alot earlier then what was recorded on Camera, that swift truck was clearly trying to trap em, and that other swift truck was most likely in on it....just a little trucker road rage
An overwhelming display of stupidity by just about every driver in this movie. All the cars are too close, is this a competition or is everyone asleep?
Geoffrey Shipton I’d argue everyone indeed was stupid in this video, including the 'sweet couple'. They should not have put themselves in this dangerous situation. A transport passing on the right shoulder??!! All cars around these idiot truckers should have put their hazards on, and safely drove way slower to avoid being potentially caught up in a 3 transport collision from hell!! No thumbs up or thumbs down required. You've got video...send the video to Swift and the 3rd company, and keep yourself safe!!
Swift on the right should have slowed down to let truck on the left pass in order to let traffic go on through in the fast lane. I did that before when I used to drive as team driver with my husband. Being thoughtful and courteous is a good thing!
Yeah what happens is even if the truck trying to pass realizes he's gotta give it up, the cars fill everything in both lanes behind him and give him nowhere to retreat to if he decides to forget about it. He can slow and drop back, but they won't get out of his way and let him over....they'll just keep running around him on his right....
The Swift on the right. Those trucks have governors on them, both Swift drivers knew how fast they could go and did that anyway. All he had to do was let off a little for a few seconds but he didn't bother.
Don't matter whether the other driver should know better or not. I drove a Kenworth t-800 with the cat turned up to 600hp and the governor at 80mph, and it'd do every bit of it fully loaded. If I found myself with some company truck pacing me in the left lane, I let off and let him on by. Cause the cars behind me and him sure wouldn't let him back over. He'd be stuck out there for miles if he let off.
The dumbest part is the idiots in the cars don't back way the heck up but close in tight so they could be part of the wreck.
Its like their brain is the size of a walnut

When that semi overturns I would rather be back a few hundred yards

driver in the blue car got smart enough to realize trouble was brewing in the right lane
technically it was both lanes, had any truck lost control the one on the left was gonna do as well. Only somewhat smart guys were cammers, but not so much to take even more distance. Then once the right swift backs off they stayed in a bad spot as the left swift went on to pincer the angry trucker along a lane, so now they had to get the f away from 3 truck lenghts of road

@@hd4100 why should we when 80% of wrecks with semis are caused by cars....
Legend says...
I have seen this behavior on I70 through Ohio all the time. Two trucks side by side for mile upon mile and neither giving up. Now I drove 80 just the other week and everyone was courteous. Trucks passed when they needed and no one got trapped in like this video. It was actually pretty surreal.
lol driver not mad, he just tired of bs and wants to go home, the 2 others just cause serious dangerous situation,
You're full of shit. It was the trucker who was camping in the passing lane who was causing a dangerous situation. The other trucker was right where he was supposed to be and minding his own business. If you cannot understand this very simple concept then driving a car must be a very complicated endeavor for you and you have no business behind the wheel with that mentality.
The only truck in the wrong is the one holding up the passing lane , the other swift driver is doing as he should
@@SV_Z13 Exactly.
@@TheGozalus that's what he said...

@drew michael the couple kept a safe distance and they were trying to pass.... if they were wanting to go slower, I am sure they wouldn't have caught up to the situation. ppl keep commenting about the truck on the left holding out the traffic but in most cases is the vehicle on the right that causes this mess. ppl have no idea how many slow trucks/cars would do 50 on the right and when somebody trying to pass they would accelerate and boxed out the vehicle on the left.
That's when I drop back behind. If he does it again, I pass and gun it until I'm a 1/4 mile ahead. The only time I may excessively speed.
If only everyone was as polite as canadians
You are wrong on both counts. Truck on right should have let outside truck go around and the truck who passed on the shoulder is a total idiot and should have been arrested and not allowed to drive commercial vehicles ever again. I have over 18 years and 3 million miles driving a semi truck.
@@pn1457 you totally do not get what I was saying. The guy in the left lane need to put on enough speed to pass the regular Lane which is the right.
The idiot on the left went by, and the entire line of cars weaved through the gap, most giving me a thumbs up as they passed.🤣
That whole line of cars then let me go right on by as I caught up with them. 👍
I was the hero that day.

That was very dangerous but He did get his point across, which is the same thing cars are saying. If you cant pass quickly, dont pass at all. Both Swifts are at fault here. The one on the left for even trying to pass and the one on the right for not slowing down a bit to let a coworker pass him more quickly.

Paul Beauregard ah damn well that's sucks! Do certain companies have that or the larger companies?
I think most larger companies have limiters. With smaller companies it's random. When they buy used trucks they usually don't bother taking the limiter off. I worked for a small company (10 trucks) and most trucks had random limiters. One was 63 (Volvo sleeper), other 73 (International daycab), two others (Volvo and International) were 67. Some had no limiter. Mine (Volvo sleeper) was 65 until they swapped the transmission out, then it had no limiter.

Nothing more aggravating than a rolling road block bunching up traffic. No common courtesy on the road anymore. The safety gurus create near as many unsafe conditions as they claim to fix. The Swift on the right. Those trucks have governors on them, both Swift drivers knew how fast they could go and did that anyway. All he had to do was let off a little for a few seconds but he didn't bother.
The swift driver on the left should know better than to pass when he's only able to go 1/2 a mph faster. He could have just followed.
