I am over 60 and have lived through the US and been in the military and I never heard of brake checking until maybe ten years ago and thought it was a localized joke. Why would anyone want to brake checking someone??? It makes no sense! If your in a big enough hurry to want to h around someone why then put on your brakes? It just seems stupid and dangerous
Without a camera, the police will fault the person at the back for following too closely. The brake checked person then buys the brake checker a new car. The brake checker giggles about your insurance cost rising as they drive into the sunset.
Exactly what devil man said, it's all about fraudulent a holes looking to make what they think is a easy in and out court case pay day. These people are scum and a solid reason why I think dash cams should be mandatory and prebuilt into all cars.
Years ago, on Long Island, there was an insurance scam crew that worked the parkways. One would get in front of your car, while you got boxed in by two others (the parkways had only 2 lanes on each side). The lead car would hit the brakes and you rear-ended them. This was before dash cams and you would be found at fault.
indeed, just about everybody is in the wrong here, both parties should get a ticket and when damage occured, no insurance should cover either side the first thing they teach you and/or is in your contract is to drive defensively, which isn't honking and staying close to the car, you have to create distance or pull over until the other party has gone, avoid rage, don't fuel it with illegal revenge also, you don't get brake checked for no reason, the most common reason for road rage like beheaviour is that the people intentionally slow down traffic by driving only half the speed limit or pulling out a side road just when you get there etc etc remember: we only get to see how it ends, not how both drivers got there
@@tripsix263 That is the issue with dash cam - they do not care who is in the right, always have a dash camera they are worth gold, in this day and age. I agree with you, these videos to me show clear intentions of wanting a crash, can only assume for insurance/medical pay out.
All of the incidents were pretty good but the one where the truck kept pushing the brake checker down the road until he pit maneuvered him was the very best! Well done Sir!
I had one of those once. Little car cut me off to get "first in line" at a light. I honked. He waved with "one-finger", and then backed up into my trucks bumper. I then proceeded to push him up under the red light until I got to the stop bar myself. Technically, I wasn't in the intersection... but he was!
I'm a retired truck driver. I once had an idiot brake-check me at about 4am on I-45 southbound between Dallas and Houston. Almost no traffic and this guy came up from FAR behind me, there was no way I cut him off. He came around me, hit his brakes, wouldn't let me pass him. I finally stopped on the shoulder to get him to move on. But believe me, I was ready to drive thru/over some vehicles if it had even begun to look like a hijack attempt! But there were simply no other vehicles within miles.
Yep me to retired in 2015 for good started in 74 , the dumb shit people pull boggles the mind it's almost like they are trying to kill themselves an yep maybe some are , made a good living raised the kids no regrets except for the senseless deaths over the years for no reason that's part of the job i guess o well , Hope you have a Great retirement an lots of grandkids to keep you on your toes .
This is the thing, these aren't brake checks, these are clearly wanting a crash, can only assume for insurance pay outs. Truck driver myself - and had more than a few try the same. I just laugh, 32 tonne truck isn't going to give you a nice little crash for an insurance claim - it is going straight over you and your ass is dead, but hey they still tried. Oh well, getting very efficient at cleaning blood up now, almost got it down to an art. May need to get a red truck next tie, make it easier to hide. lol
I have a lot of respect for truckers. My youngest son is a trucker. I was coming back from dropping my grandson off in St Louis and was in my personal vehicle. A trucker came up and when he wasn't clear of me came over and ran me off the road. My first thought was it is rainy, maybe he misjudged his distance or maybe he is just tired, giving him the benefit of the doubt. Then he pulled up along side of me and rolled down his passenger window and told me to pull over he was going to kick my ass. I was 6'2'', 220 pounds, ex sf and 27 years in martial arts and also worked for the highway patrol. I looked at him and told him he had better be on his way as i would guarantee he would lose this argument. He then tried to run me off the road again. That is when i decided he was going to jail. I followed him thinking i would arrest him when he pulled into a scale station. We drove about 50 miles and i saw where another trooper had a car pulled over so i stopped and walked up to the trooper, identified myself and told him what had happened. He said his partners were coming our way and radioed them, gave them the info. They radioed back and had him in sight and said they would stop him at a rest site. I told them i was on my way. They pulled him over at the rest stop and he got out all huffed up (all 120 pounds, 5'7'' of him ), and told the trooper "You guys f$# with me every time i come into this state". The trooper told him he had better calm down as he was the one who would put him in jail. He calmed down immediately. The trooper asked if he had had trouble with anyone that day. He replied no. About that time i drove up, he looked at me and started jumping up and down saying that's him, 'the guy who has been f$#ing with me. The trooper smiled and told him, "Guess what, he is one of us, you are under arrest. He was charged with two counts of careless and reckless driving and two counts of attempted homicide with a vehicle. I got in the car with the trooper writing the one report while the other trooper placed the suspect in his vehicle. When the trooper finished the report, he said i don't want to sign this re port and have to drive all the way to Jeff City to testify. I told him i would have to testify anyway so i would sign the arrest report. I waited to be told when to show up for court but was never called. He had an attorney represent him and he pled guilty to lesser charges, however the careless and reckless driving charges carried a mandatory license suspension of three years, therefore it would be three years before he could apply for a cdl license and i doubt any reliable company would hire him again. The day of the arrest i went home and called the company he worked for and told them what had happened. I also told them we left the truck in the rest area so they could send someone to pick it up. He thanked me and then said i bet i can tell you the name of the driver also. He did and he was right so i knew they had had trouble with him before.
Thank you. I do believe he was one bad apple and that most are very good drivers. I was glad he chose me so i could get him off the road.@@blainelytle341
People need to realize when you break check the person behind you what you are actually doing is you are begging that person to smash into the back of you. So be careful what you wish for.
@@collectoroffrance Assuming the person getting brake checked cares about who is responsible. Or what's legal. Like the one clip of the truck pushing the car down the road until it spun of the road. That driver clearly didn't care. To say nothing of how many times this may have ended in a shooting.
They do it on purpose to get you to make a mistake so they can pull you over and then use all kinds of excuses to do whatever they want. 97% of cops are shitbags and the other 3% are shitbags for covering for them.
In Germany we have the term "Nötigung" for this (maybe the translation could be "forcing somebody into something". Here to force somebody to change lane or drive faster). Nice try for the cop to bring the driver to court for brake checking. The cop itself would be in struggle. E.g. at 2:35 it looks like the driver is braking to keep the safety distance to the vehicle in front of him. So what is the argument of the cop?
@@mrxmry3264 02:50 the pig was at fault there for tailgating! he should be getting the ticket! Theres no law against driving along and using your brakes!
In 53 years of driving, I have never had anyone brakecheck me, but I have had people come from behind my semi to prevent me from changing lanes. Now I live in a state where most residents carry concealed weapons. Discourteous driving seldom happens here due to the possibility of the road rager ending up looking at the grass from underneath.
Lucky you. To-date I've witness two shooting deaths due to road rage and another due to a guy cornered in an intersection by cops who decided to shoot it out.
An entire video where the word "brake" is spelled "break" in almost every clip. That's award-worthy. Remember people, spell check is NOT a substitute for proofreading!
I concur. Long ago, a co-worker of mine was told the word "side-skirt" was incorrect in our language and instead of clicking "ignore all", he clicked "replace all", causing lots of instances of our local equivalent of the English word "whiner" to be inserted in a professional publication for a customer. Fortunately, someone else proofread it and turned it from a potential financial and reputational disaster into a funny anecdote.
Tip of the day: 8:09 NEVER brake check ANY diesel truck...EVER. They can eff you up, and there will be nothing you can do except wait until they are done.

Only time I ever 'brake checked' someone, I was trying to save his life. It was pitch dark, no lights, and there were cows in the road that could not be seen, but I knew were there because I had been there recently before. Some guy tried to do a swift-around on me, and would likely have sped through the road and killed himself on one of the cattle. My 'nasty driving' likely saved his life, as we came up on the cows in less than one minute after the incidents. I think he might had been grateful too.
brake checking is when you apply nearly full brakes to surprise the driver behind. gently using the brakes with minimal deceleration is hardly brake checking, and appropriate to warn the driver (with hazard lights, too) that the road conditions dictate speeds below the limit. So which was it?
Who the f#&k brake checks a tractor looks like a big old fendt . Wouldn't even scratch that. As you say probably with a couple of tones of solid weight on the front . But ole farmer Giles had a good laugh.. the twot in the car can't really say he rear ended me can he ? Would get asked why were you going so slow
When I have tailgaters, I am in the right lane (slow lane in the USA) with a passing lane available, I don't brake check since that would escalate. I just go about 1 to 2 mph below the speed limit as if I was stupid. Eventually, the tailgaters will race around me and be on their way, they think I am too stupid to bother "teaching a lesson". When I have a stick shift I just ride the transmission rather than doing the brakes - most people assume I am going faster and slower and not trying to piss them off. They usually get the hint and are much happier passing me and speeding away anyway. When there is no safe place to pass, they are not being dicks, and I am not in a hurry, I will pull over and let them by. I have done that with trucks especially because passing for them is a royal pain. In a couple of minutes I never see these speeders again.
@@comatoseps1382 When driving a standard (stick shift) and I want to slow down without breaking I take my foot off of the gas pedal. I have always heard of it as "riding the transmission".

LET ME EXPLAIN THIS SIMPLE THING! The car in front was on the passing lane while not passing anyone! That already could be considered a violation (yes!), but it goes on... when reached by the cop he had space to get out (witch he should by the laws) but didn't (blocking the passing lane), AND break check the police car! The cop did nothing worng, but I guess most people really believe you can stay on the passing lane and block any faster car...."cause I'm doing the limit, I don't need to give way" Most peolpe o the world do the same stupid mistake! Please use the pasing lane to pass, AS IT SHOULD BE, abd then immediately get back to the other lanes. That's the law! No cruising on the passing lane! If a car is tailgating you on the fast lane... is probably your fault!
5:07 The cammer was totally in the wrong not only in approaching the roundabout too fast to stop but also in thinking he had right of way despite the white car already being on the roundabout; he hasn't. He must give way to those already using the roundabout but couldn't due to his lack of caution when approaching. The white car should not have brake checked him but equally, the cammer bears a lot if responsibility for not slowing down. It would have have happened anyway if the car driver had braked for any obstacle as the cammer is an idiot.
4:42 looked like the first brake the guy did was due to road conditions and traffic ahead…likely as a result of not having light on… Just cos you brake on a freeway with a car behind you does NOT automatically define it as brake checking…
I came looking for this comment, in all honesty the guy braked 3 times and only 1 of them seemed close enough to be considered brake checking, the others there was definitely too big of a gap and too short of a brake and was probably due to road conditions, he probably got pulled over for the lights, not the brakes.
@@rianmacdonald9454 combined with the road conditions being wet…depending on vehicle, the on/off or the brakes could show he was trying to be gentle/pumping the brakes to avoid locking and sliding the wheels
You never, ever brake check a semi. If they have a full load, they slam on the brakes and the load shifts forward towards the back of the cab, the load will push the semi forward and you’ll get creamed. Same with sitting in the semis blind spot. They can’t see you. If they move into your lane you’ll have a bad accident. It won’t hurt the semi but you’ll have a bad day.
The cops in 1:08 and 1:17 acted unprofessionally. They were tailgating slow cars that were appropriated in the right land. The police baited them with their actions.
That is in the UK, and that car was in the fast overtaking lane. Here it is illegal to "undertake" and you must move over to the left after passing whatever traffic you are overtaking. The police car was acting correctly towards to illegal driver holding up the traffic.
@@Andrew-nh5zg UK or Australia. At night, how can you tell? At 1:26 you can see the headlights of a car travelling in the opposite direction to the right. If it was U.S. standard they should be to the left.
My sister and grandma were brake checked. Back around 2008-2009, my grandma was taking her to get her cast taken off her ankle. They were in the diamond lane and someone suddenly stopped right in front of them, but the moment my grandma stops the car to prevent hitting them, they immediately take off, and a car hits them from behind. They were fine since they were in a van, but my sister still gets PTSD whenever we go on a freeway.
Yeah, I was taught in driving school that if someone tailgates you, you need to brake gently so they would increase the distance to you. But really, this has never worked and the only thing it accomplishes is aggravating him, so I'd suggest breathing calmly and just not watchin the mirrors, lol.
Agreed. Brake checking is never good, but tailgating is just as bad, yet in these encounters it's the cops who get to take revenge on the person that they annoyed with their crappy tailgating. I want to see the karma where these idiot driver cops get THEIR just desserts.
@@whatsupbudbud if someone insists on tailgaiting, I will tap the brakes without slowing down, as a warning to back off. If they still don't, I'll slow down in some cases, gently. Where I live, tailgaters tend to be folks looking for a fight. As frustrating as it is, it is better to not brake check because unconcern for you and your car can quickly escalate to unconcern for the law and your physical existence. Tailgating is poor driving, often a physical manifestation of a landfill mind. Who would want to interact with trash heads? What good can come from it? Many folks leaving comments are probably tailgaters and aggressive drivers themselves, and some even suggest they have a right to hit your car. Should give pause.
Not sure of your origin but this footage certainly looks like the UK, which means you always drive on the left most lane unless overtaking a vehicle. Undertaking (passing on the left side) is against the highway code. So the car was blocking the motorway by sitting in the far right lane. The left lanes were empty so there was no need to be there. You see it happen loads, often by foreign licence holders who haven't bothered to familiarise themselves with the UK road laws. Nice to see them get pulled, its infuriating when it happens, made worse by the drivers further ignorance by brake checking the rear car.
@@DJJumpdancerGuten tag. Yes and no. He could only undertake if on a response to a call, especially as he is unmarked, but thats not really the point. 1:12 In all fairness to the driver for this one the cop did get right on their tail... its not like the cop could not have pulled over to the left hand lane and went by them. They incited them to see the drivers reaction and when the cop saw the first break check he continued to harass the driver till he had enough footage to make the infraction stick in court. That is what I call a bad cop and a bad ticket. the driver of the car should have just put on the 4 way flashers and waved them through while slowing down. Its not like you can get a ticket for going to slow...
1:13. The cop ran right up on that guy and followed awfull close and did not pass when it could been done easily. Unless there is something else to the story I see nothing wrong. Just some actions to get him to back off, not really a brake check.
I had someone go around me and brake check me as I was going going uphill with a full load of whey on the trailer. Then he showed up at the one station I can pull the truck into to get supplies for the house while working. He said "Next time I'm putting you in the ditch!". I really would like to see him try with that charger, the only car model that I've seen 5 of sitting by side looking perfect, but we're totalled due to chassis damage. He got us both kicked out, and himself permanently banned because I didn't come in to start trouble. He did.
When I first started driving there was a few time where I’d be following a truck doing the speed limit and then we’d come up to a huge hill and I would nearly rear end them and always wondered why tf they slowed down for until I realised that some of those truck weigh upwards of 40 tons so I decided that next time I’m following a truck and I see a hill coming up I can either go around them or just sit behind them and enjoy the view
I still think my favorite was some a-hole brake checked a semi and got rear ended like 3 or 4 times before the truck was able to stop. Then he got out and quote "That was unnecessary!". Yeah, it was, D-bag. 🤣🤣🤣

In the U.K. tailgating is considered dangerous, and is an offence. Despite that, many still do it. It appears from some of these clips that tailgating is a problem in the USA as well?
3:41 I don't think it's fair to call this one an idiot. Their sheer recklessness and instant switch from calm to chaotic driving highly suggests something serious happen to the driver. To the person with severe road rage I encountered today: your honk lasts a second, but my memory of your license plate might last a lot longer. Be kind.
Brake checking is illegal because it is dangerous. However, it is dangerous because a majority of drivers do not follow at a safe distance and do not change lanes when there is a safe amounts of space. Hence, in a real sense, it is the driver following who is at least partially responsible.
Does that include when the brake checker is the one changing lanes into the following driver way too close after passing at a relatively high rate of speed then slamming on their brakes?
It is common for cops to do that if you caught their attention and they are trying to check you out. Maybe they are trying to get you to speed so you get a ticket.

5:05 This looks suspiciously like Australia - the law here is to give way to traffic on the round-about, which Mr Truck obviously fails to appreciate, raging. But I agree, the wrong person did get brake-checked in that doing it to a psychopath in a truck is not a healthy practice!
I only ever quasi brake checked once in my life. I didn't take my foot off the accelerator, just tapped my pedal with my left foot to turn the lights on. I just started passing a car on the highway, and Mr "I Own the passing lane" was far enough back I had plenty of time, no cutting off. He purposely sped up and rode inches from my bumper to let me know he was the King here. After I touched the brakes, he got the message - in a big hurry. I don't care if you want play stupid games at 70 mph, just don't take me with you to your death.
More like a suicide wish if they brake-check a big rig and mess it up. The trucker MIGHT get some bruises, the car driver? Much, much more. Just an FYI: It take the average semi 300 FEET (a football field, goal to goal) to come to a complete stop at 60 mph in good road/weather conditions on a level roadway. That's EMERGENCY braking BTW.
In general, it’s because the aggressive prick behind is following too closely. Absent a lane change followed by slamming on brakes any rear ended collision should be 100% the driver behind at fault. Here’s the thing. I drive the speed limit. You tailgate, I keep slowing down until you are at a safe following distance even if that means going 5 mph.
Prople being brake checked should have the right to push the offender right off the road with no liability to them. Even if someone's tailgating doesn't give you the right to risk an accident just because you are upset at them. And no, im not one of those assholes who tailgate.

That was my impression, too. In some cases, I had the impression that the driver in front wasn't actually "brake checking" but lightly activating the brakes enough for the brake lights to go on and signal "look, you're getting way too close". In some of the other cases ( including the first ones) the following vehicles did nothing to avoid a collision and took it in their stride. I don't know how other jurisdictions deal with that - in my country, a judge would likely say that both parties are at fault and order them to split the bill. In the case of "truckers standing together", a judge would probably hand down a fine to the overtaking lorry - but his colleague dealing with the ensuing crash would rate the final "accident" an intentional ramming and find the valiant trucker 100% at fault for hitting the initial culprit.
Happened to my sister driving alone on the highway at night, a guy on a Suzuki Alto brake checked her out of nowhere, sadly for him my sister had a really slow reaction due to having the music too loud and being distracted(im not saying that was nice tho, she should be more aware), the thing is she was draving my uncle's Ford Ranger Raptor at about 110km/h and the little car was just thrown away like a toy to the side of the road which was on a hill, as she stopped she could see the little car going down the hill and starting to roll and catch fire. For further info, shes ok, the Ford had scratches on the paint and the guy on the Suzuki almost lost his life, hes on a wheelchair for the rest of it tho. As for of insurance and things go, a biker with dash cam behind her sent the video to her, so the Suzuki Driver was proven guilty and had to pay for the paint on the Ford too. So yeah, dont brake check people.
I've been thinking recently about live streaming dash cams, and maybe adding steel to the bumpers/fenders. Only for youtube driving obviously. I don't need any of it for regular trips.

It aggressive and anti-social to ride right up on someone. Your basically telling the person in from to get out of your way which is not ok. Learn some patience.
I'll admit that I've accidentally brake checked a cop. It was completely accidental because he got right up on my bumper (w/o emergency lights on) at 55 mph and I did a double tap on the brake pedal just enough to activate the brake lights. Well, the second tap put my nose down. He was getting ready to pull me over for running a red light (I entered the intersection on a yellow) and for some reason, this department limes to tailgate before initiating a pullover. Oddly enough, he never mentioned the brake check during the entire encounter.
I got brake checked like at 8:02 once. Guy kept stopping on an offramp from a highway, on an aerial overpass above a city. Maybe he thought I was tailgating. I try not to, but certain congested areas it is unavoidable. Gotta get my dashcam installed for next crazy person.

It is
It never ceases to amaze me how many drivers will lay on the horn for 3-5 seconds, but won't hit their brakes
indeed, just about everybody is in the wrong here, both parties should get a ticket and when damage occured, no insurance should cover either side
the first thing they teach you and/or is in your contract is to drive defensively, which isn't honking and staying close to the car, you have to create distance or pull over until the other party has gone, avoid rage, don't fuel it with illegal revenge
also, you don't get brake checked for no reason, the most common reason for road rage like beheaviour is that the people intentionally slow down traffic by driving only half the speed limit or pulling out a side road just when you get there etc etc
remember: we only get to see how it ends, not how both drivers got there

He had an attorney represent him and he pled guilty to lesser charges, however
the careless and reckless driving charges carried a mandatory license suspension of three years, therefore it would be three years before he could apply for a cdl license and i doubt any reliable company would hire him again. The day of the arrest i went home and called the company he worked for and told them what had happened. I also told them we left the truck in the rest area so they could send someone to pick it up. He thanked me and then said i bet i can tell you the name of the driver also. He did and he was right so i knew they had had trouble with him before.

In Germany we have the term "Nötigung" for this (maybe the translation could be "forcing somebody into something". Here to force somebody to change lane or drive faster).
Nice try for the cop to bring the driver to court for brake checking. The cop itself would be in struggle.

Now I live in a state where most residents carry concealed weapons. Discourteous driving seldom happens here due to the possibility of the road rager ending up looking at the grass from underneath.
The brake checks are often triggered by immature "drivers" and flashing high beams 🤣
Lucky you. To-date I've witness two shooting deaths due to road rage and another due to a guy cornered in an intersection by cops who decided to shoot it out.
It's a shame that courtesy only comes with the possibility of violence

1:39 That was deliberately provoked by the cop. He tailgates him without any justification and could have easily been going around. No traffic whatsoever.
Drive safely always! 🚗💨
1:30 You're right that brake checking the pigs is a bad idea, but that pig was tailgating intentionally before the first brake check. They both deserve tickets but we all know the piggy didn't get one.
In the U.K. tailgating is considered dangerous, and is an offence. Despite that, many still do it. It appears from some of these clips that tailgating is a problem in the USA as well?
Most definitely. It's a nightmare
Watched a dude brake checking a military convoy out of JBLM. Few seconds later he was surrounded by police. I just laughedddddddddddd.
Wow. Brake checking the military. Talk about having a death wish. Question: Is JBLM Joint Base Lewis-McChord?
@@WildBikerBill Yep.
3:41 I don't think it's fair to call this one an idiot. Their sheer recklessness and instant switch from calm to chaotic driving highly suggests something serious happen to the driver. What if they had an heart-attack? In that case, they, along with the truck driver, are heroes for avoiding a potentially catastrophic pile-up accident.
2:35 well he tailgated the lambo and if the roles were reversed he would have gotten pulled over himself ! keep your distance and you won't get brake checked.
To the person with severe road rage I encountered today: your honk lasts a second, but my memory of your license plate might last a lot longer. Be kind.
Gotem!
Two of the cop ones around 1:30 both were tailgating extremely dangerously... Shouldn't be a part of the hate... 🤦🤦🤦
1:35 cop should write himself a ticket for tailgating
he was just bored.
It is common for cops to do that if you caught their attention and they are trying to check you out. Maybe they are trying to get you to speed so you get a ticket.
That's par for the course in Arizona. Both city and state cops just love to get half a car length off the back bumper at 60+ on the freeway.
The thrill in every moment is palpable! You did a great job curating these enjoyable experiences.
2:45 that cop should lose his licence, too. No safety gap at all.
Trucker's patience, not patients, gave out!
I love the officer that walks up @4:10 with the "you're serious right now?" demeanor. Some people just dont get it xD
4:50 this was probably the first time in his life that this french trucker was happy to see the motorcycle policemen... (also, for those who wonder, he's saying: "haha, bien fait pour ta gueule... motards! => haha, in your face... bikers! (with a joyous tone)"
The one where they say the guy brake-checked a cop 3 times. That’s obviously stupid, but the officer is also harassing the driver, tailgating him and shining his spotlight while following too close for quite awhile.
True. I'd have just slowed down without the brakes
@@nthgth me too. I used to drive through a tiny town with less than 1k population, but they had a police department with 2 officers. I worked nights so every single night one of them would tailgate me through the entire town. I had to learn to deal with it.
@@RobbieWebster so annoying.
You could try downshifting, if you can do it smooth enough not to be obvious (by making the car buck as if you were braking). They might still stop you but with no brake lights in their dash cam they can't prove you braked, and they almost certainly can't prove you downshifted either
Delivered just in time! I love it!

8:13 YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW MANY VIDEOS I'VE WATCHED OF PEOPLE BRAKE CHECKING A SEMI AND WAITING THAT ONE OF THOSE CLIPS, THE TRUCKER IS JUST GONNA PUSH THEM
not only that, but it's even more hilarious than i thought 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You can tell a lot about a society by carefully studying the flow of traffic. With a large enough data set you can tell if the populace suffers from a strong sense of entitlement, if they are underpaid, how much of a problem mental health is and other things.
When the driver brake check the cop and his lights came on. The person who edited this video to add that music to it at that very time. I want to say thank you. It was so funny.
at 8:19 is my favorite where the driver is not taking any BS from the car in front and is giving the car a proper punishment. i love it.
1:40 case: to be honest, police tempted this citizen by hanging on his bumper. Accordind to law they should keep a propper distance especially in the night. they just asked for check brake. I would do the same to stupid " follower".
The question I pose to break checkers. "Who appointed you the punisher of slow drivers?"
I didn't see any "break" checking going on here. Nothing broke, so there's nothing the check.
Isn't that a question to be posed to tailgaters?
(Or talegaiters, to stick with the "break" theme.)
Brake checking a semi truck has to be one of the stupidest ways to commit frauds. If god forbid the truck driver isn’t paying attention you’re getting pancaked.
5:05 This looks suspiciously like Australia - the law here is to give way to traffic on the round-about, which Mr Truck obviously fails to appreciate, raging. But I agree, the wrong person did get brake-checked in that doing it to a psychopath in a truck is not a healthy practice!
It's a simple matter of weight - 50,000+ lb. truck always wins a contest with a 2500 lb passenger car, regardless of who has the right of way.
Yeah, Cronulla in Sydney
Ironically, the driver sitting on the horn could face a fine up to $2660 for reacting in a justified manner!

brake checkers need to be arrested for attempted murder cause it could cause a accident and death
@@JodyOwen-we6oo well I hope you drive like that in Tennessee on our interstates and get the ticket you deserve because if you hang out in the passing lane blocking traffic you will be ticketed, Tn law.
How about you move over like the signs indicate, “Slower Traffic Keep Right” & let others go on their way?
No way was any of the Cops following the 2 second rule.
2 seconds of distance between cars? Is that an American rule, or your personal preference? The rest of the civilised world have our 3 second rule. Unfortunately, the world is populated by 50 % of sub-average IQ people who will not follow such obvious rules.
I really hope the truck's patients were ok after the accident.
LOL Spelling is hard
Not to mention it wasn't even a truck but a farm tractor!

The cop was tailgating it deserved to be brake checked
HA!!! Thank you for this video! I live in California and now feel good...
Some cops like to tailgate within safety stopping distance...so you have brake check for to back off ...then they ticket u....I won a court case with that exact scenario via my rear cam. !!!
Don't know if I'm the only one who caught it but thanks for being the first video to use that classic laugh from The Money Pit!
Theres no such thing as a brake check, it's a deliberate attempt to cause a crash.
See, if the driver behind is driving with sufficient following distance there’s no crash. If he or she isn’t, ain’t my fault there are an aggressive tailgating prick.
So easy to say, but how about some morons who cut into your breaking distance then slams on the brakes, before you even get the chance to create a safe distance,
Yep!! there is no such law. . if there was they would tell you what distance you should be at and how long to brake check and how much pressure is allowed and how slow you can bring your vehicle down to. . .but there isnt , it is illegal as hell and always has been. Drivers Ed teachers use to tell you to touch the pedal enough for the stop lights to come on, but it has been perverted into a negligent driving under the road rage laws. But it was never a legal driving technic any where.
@@jotegg1276 in the UK, there is such a law. When you do your driving test, you are to know what the stopping distances are for various speeds, and what distances to leave for the car in front of you. Clearly that goes out the window, when like in these videos, they pull in front of you and slam their brakes on - that isn't brake checking, that is crash for cash.
@@rianmacdonald9454 So you know the las? What about the law that says that you MUST give way on the pasing lane? most of these videos are people blocking the passing lane and then getting furious with come car that just want to go his way!
If someone reaches you in the passing lane (while here's no car at your side) is YOUR FAULT for using the fast lane as a cruising lane!
Iknow most of yo muricans get your driver's licence without EVER taking a course or a lesson about the laws... so the result are these videos and most of the stupid comments justifying the brake check.
Brake checking a truck/bus is definitely stupid. Those rigs are bigger but if they don't mind get crushed, that's their problem.
I have done something like this but... I have never driven past someone , pulled in in front of them and braked like we are seing here.
I have had incidences of people driving right up my rear end trying to intimidate , for whatever reason.
We drive 'stick shifts' here and it is possible to bring a car to almost a stop jwithout using brakes. A couple of sudden reductions of speed without brake lights , er, modifies, their attitude in a more cautious direction....
An auto works just as well, just drop a gear and let engine braking do its thing.
Haha yeah I've done that to tailgaters before. I've downshifted to a really low gear, dumping the clutch, lol. I've even chirped the wheels doing that. That taught them to stop riding my tail haha
Had you ever thinked about just getting iot of the way? You know... like the law says!
@@deihorus7927 mmm...

Don't some people break check to highlight the fact that the person behind is tailgating?
If the person break checks and you run up into them, it highlights your positioning behind the car was to close.
People could brake instantly for any reason, that's why you leave enough space.
Mario and GTA videos are epic haha
I got brake checked like at 8:02 once. Guy kept stopping on an offramp from a highway, on an aerial overpass above a city. Maybe he thought I was tailgating. I try not to, but certain congested areas it is unavoidable. Gotta get my dashcam installed for next crazy person.
5:06 cam car has no right of way or any reason to be pissed.
This is why I dash cam is so good you can easily prove what happened.
Front and rear and never get the model with GPS speed indicator, unless you are perfect, never make mistakes and never speed.
that cop at the 1:40 mark was on that guys ass before he brake checked him... they do that here at night get right up on your ass... and if you notice, the cop turned on his high beams
Brake check should be a $10,000 fine and 30 days in Jail.
I think it should be no less than a year in jail, and they also lose the drivers license for 2 years.
