It honestly just had bandwagon hate. People give bethesda a pass for way more mediocre games, remastered with the same bugs since launch that they didnt give cyberpunk.
@nolives nope had it in 2020, and it was a bug riddled. It ran like crap and the story isn't that great tbh. Rpg elements were below subpar, and it was simply overhyped by the community.
Yeah exactly. Whereas now even tho they've made the game amazing I'm sure the casual players will still keep shitting on it just because of the reputation it got at launch, which is really sad to see when personnaly this game made me live such an incredible experience in terms of story, characters, the atmosphere and architecture of the world, the lore, side quests, the soundtrack.. even in the little details like the design of cars and guns you can see so much work went into all those things, it's depressing to see the game get treated as bad as the worst trash like fallout 76
i dunno, i still think they fucked up with the first person perspective. .i was looking forward to a witcher style game.. whats the point of all this clothes and character options when you never see your character?
@@raidermaxx2324 the first person perspective allowed them to create this dialogue system in real time where you keep control of your character during conversations and can still chose what to answer while driving or moving around and it makes the game feel so much more natural and immersive, because there isnt any cuts from the gameplay to the dialogues like in other RPGs like witcher, starfield etc. That wouldn't have been possible in a third person game. Because in third person the game needs to zoom on the NPCs face during conversations so that you can see their faces, which means taking control from the player and lock you in the same position without being able to move during dialogues. Plus third person makes the combat much slower which doesn't fit into this game at all there is so many implants and talents that allow your character to move at really high speed, dash in the air or jump really high, it would look so weird in third person. Making this game third person is so much sacrifice in terms of gameplay and immersion just so that " you can see your character "
The mistake was porting the game to the old gen, it was clearly not aimed for that, and its was a middle of development "corpo" decision. And is still has some weird bugs, at least over 2.0 version, but nothing major.
@@FableBlazeI fully agree with you my friend. This game was and still is too overhyped and it is still no way near anything CDPR was promoting and promising years before release. Yes the 2.0 update may have enhanced the game to a better state but the current state of the game should have been there on release.
honestly, if they just didn't try to force the game out on last gen, the reception would have been a lot better. while PC and current gen were still buggy, they weren't even close to how bad last gen was. But then again they'd probably have received backlash for not putting it on last gen, at least back in 2020, though i'd imagine less than they got from what did happen
Unfortunately, not everyone can give that strategy a go or else such games would simply be declared failures thus all support would be dropped on the spot.
I’ve been on this game since the 1.5 update and it quickly became my favorite game of all time. I recommend everyone to check this game out, especially with the 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty. CDPR has genuine passion for this game and it was sad to see how they were pressured by executives to release it when they knew it wasn’t ready.
I'm exactly the same. The second 1.5 hit I ploughed 250 glorious hours into it all the way to the Platinum and beyond. Now I'm on a new 100% playthrough and will tackle Phantom Liberty in a month or so. Absolutely my favourite gaming experience in the last 40 years.
@chenath9582 it's kinda wild that the performance is the same with all the new systems (wanted, car chases AI, etc) , you'd think it would lower but nah.
Dogtown is insane. Small in surface area sure, but it feels so much bigger and has so much verticality. I did the intro last night and it took me 5 hours on very hard, that boss fight was hard man. It is such a strong start, the writing, the characters, world building. This is so far CDPR at their absolute top of their game. I'm getting same vibes in quality I was getting Hearts of Stone's writing, and that's the best praise I can give so far. And Hearts of Stone is for me one of the best video game stories ever and CDPR's best story to date. I know people love Blood and Wine, but story wise HoS is just supreme.
man...more witcher makes me wanna play it. every time i try to play i get like 10 hours in before i stop and play something else, not because i didn't enjoy or love the game but because i get distracted with other games im playing around the same time(having a huge gaming backlog sucks lol) and then i just forget to play thru it and by time i decide to play it again i force myself to restart those 10 hours. its a game that i feel needs 100% dedication towards and rn i don't think i'll get that when i do decide to play it tho, because it will happen tho are the dlcs worth it?
The pistol glitch is a throwback. Jackie had a gun in hand when he took the chip out of his head during his death scene. Hardest I ever laughed at a death scene.
It’s excellent!!!! Didn’t think it was going to be my favorite game this year but it’s topping all of them. It’s like a huge blockbuster movie, that doesn’t suck.
As someone who has thousands of hours in the base game and have been playing in the hardest difficulty throughout, I can, without a doubt, say that the AI changes make the early game much more difficult. They take cover more, they use cyberware more, and they even use boosters to heal themselves now. So I think around mid to late game when you've leveled up a lot and have gotten a lot of perks and cyberware, it will feel easier than the base game, but early game is definitely more difficult now.
@@jessicaguarin3897 Depends entirely on your build, but it's certainly not doable with any setup anymore. Some endgame builds can definitely still do it.
Not just that, it’s the best game I’ve played in years. A masterpiece in storytelling, and I’ve always been a gameplay over story guy, but this one is a game changer. Absolutely worth every cent. Eldris Alba add it was pure genius. It feels like the best CIA agent game I’ve ever played, some games have slow parts, this one has none!
Considering the mess this game launched in, I'm seriously impressed with the work CDPR has done to pretty much resurrect CP2077. Im playing it through again from start now on PS5 and it's like a new game. Before it was an entertaining farcical experience, but now it's... it's just fixed, full stop. And looks stunning. Massive props to them for the work this must have taken. I'm sure I'll get Phantom Liberty soon enough.
My hats off to them fixing it, but that does not change the fact they lied to us, and scammed us. If you buy this DLC you are the reason games will continue to release in a shitty buggy broken state.
@@MK-ww1se No the reason for that was the arrogance of their investors and management. The fact that it has taken them a further 3 years to actually complete, and the fact they did it for "free", shows how rushed and under pressure they were. I don't blame the Devs in the slightest, I commend them for seeing it through. The management should be fired and I'm sure the investors either got a good trade against CDPR or they have learnt their lesson. CP2077 launch will be a warning to other studios not a release target. No one's that stupid.
@@vmondude Enjoy the game man, Not trying to be a dick here. But keep making excuses for these company's and every game will continue to release broken and unplayable.
I've been playing the 2.0 update since it launched and it's been an absolute blast I am so obsessed with this game now I'm so glad I waited to play through it!
I'm obsessed with this game right now and it's not just hype because I bought it the other day without knowing anything about 2.0. I dove in as blind as possible and man let me tell you it's good
I always loved Cyberpunk, even at launch. Definitely going to play this after Starfield, get some holiday at christmas so might save playing until then and fully immerse.
I played this game on release and even though it was a buggy mess, it was still one of my most favourite games I've ever played. Now, with the 2.0 and Phantom Liberty releasing in 2 hrs , I started playing again yesterday and realized how much changed And just after an hour with a new character, I was back with the most fun I had in a long time with just seeing the improvements. I am so glad CDPR kept going even though I can imagine how hard it was for them after the release, but they really did the best they could if not even better than they could with 2.0
Same with you there. Was fortunate enough to not encounter any game breaking bugs on launch on PC, so it was still one of my all time favorites as well. Didn’t play since launch and 2.0 feels like a brand new game. Absolutely amazing and will for sure put 100+ hours on a new character.
@@rev31089 Ye, thats literally the same for me. I am looking so forward to 100% this game on my new Playthrough Also just realized how man people actually still play/started playing again with ~100k 2 days before the DLC release
Excited to jump back in myself. I played 1.0 on PC too (2 or 3 playthroughs); I kind of kept quiet, as I was fortunate enough to not encounter any of the bugs mentioned -- immediately jumped into my favorite games-list too. Glad to hear you two mention that it's worth it to start a new game again, as I was a bit worried that 2.0 wouldn't feel different enough to go for ANOTHER playthrough (3 years later). @@rev31089
Just finished. My top moments: - As the plane crashes into dogtown - Great Idis Elba introduction - When you use the netrunner to find songbird, really cool the way the time stops with the red matrix VFX - Party at Hanson tower, the Phoenix performance, very cool - The excruciating dilemma to side with Songbird or Reed aaaarrrrghhhh (and the following escape was pretty cool) Through the whole game only a couple of minor Annoyances: - After playing for a few hours my game started to lag only when opening and closing menus, but fixes itself on reload. - Getting a bit annoyed after 17th death to the unkillable Songbird/AI/"aliens" robot hallways mission
I like your vibe bro , you blowing up yet staying true to your self and not changing with the clout :) that shit keeps me around never forgot the come up 🙏
I've been in love with this game for years, I'm so glad it's finally getting the recognition it and the team behind it deserves. Can't wait to boot up the expansion and party like it's 2023
I don't think it's correct to say cyberpunk 2077 is now what it was supposed to be because they haven't overhauled the main missions. The fact that you felt that within the first two hours of the expansion you had already experienced more epic set pieces and high production quality action sequences than in the entirety of the base game proves that the main missions had a lot of missed potential. This game won't live up to my expectations without that issue being sorted, but the fact that I've racked up more than 300 hours of playing the game suggests that it's a pretty good game anyway.
he felt that because phantom liberty has been in development for almost as long as the base game itself, but instead of trying to actually make all the game mechanics in that time frame they had time to work more on the story aspects and such, it's basically the same case with blood and wine
well they arent going to completely redo whole missions in the base game so cry harder and get over it fr lmao. U literally beat it multiple times ur fine stop trying to find anything to complain about and just enjoy what we got till the next game
Yes it is. You didn’t like the story, sucks for you, but the story and the characters are objectively top tier. So yes, CP after fixing all the mechanics and issues/bugs is now indeed what it’s supposed to be.
honestly i’m proud of them! they didn’t abandon the game n owned up to make it better. from netflixs edgerunners to phantom liberty they’ve done a splendid job story wise! sush an intriguing world n i can’t wait to play it again!
Played for couple days after launch and man you ain't wrong this don't feel like the same game anymore turning out to be 1 of my favorite gaming stories of all time
I tried getting back into the game, but after not even an hour of gameplay I had to put it down again. NPCs are _still_ T-posing, I was soft-locked from multiple quests and was forced to load an earlier save because I couldn't interact with the quest givers at certain points, a mandatory story quest which you are supposed to be able to complete without fighting anyone was so broken I died before the door had fully opened because somehow they were hostile towards me. I'm glad the bugs came earlier, because my original playthrough was softlocked 63 hours into the game and all previous saves were corrupt after some update. I'm done.
"you'd be surprised at how much improved" : *i then proseed to get the same relic glitch after talking to jhonny during the automic love quest the same glitch I had got at launch...* also jackie has the gun floating glitch as well, but it was patched out before, its back again with 2.0... im sure it will be fixed but god damn if it isnt annoying
Lol, same. Starfield was so mind-numblingly boring, that I'm not sure if my love for CP77 2.0 is due to its own merits, or if its significantly boosted by the fact that I've had the displeasure of playing starfield a few days ago.
Yeah... I bought game pass to try starfield out (as I didn't want to dish full price on it). After playing a while I was reaffirmed in NOT buying it full price. After playing more, I knew I wasn't going to even renew the gamepass, and cancelled it. After a few more hours, I just uninstalled the game. Give it about 2 years and the modders will make gold out of it, but right now it's just not worth it for me.
14:32 you used to warp like this really bad at launch when you would walk over uneven ground that had a ramp shape to it, i bet that tiny tiny lip at the sidewalk did it.
A decade went into the game, and finally to hear it's better than ever, is just fantastic. I don't know how a dev studio could possibly work on 1 game for a decade, without getting burnt out. I would go insane if I had to work on 1 game for 10 years. Kudos on CDPR for sticking with this game, for as long as they have. It truly is a great game now, and it's worth it.
@@Killer-vi4ih You’re probably right. I don’t understand how developers could possibly work on a game this long, and not release it in a perfect state. The new DLC does show off what the game could have been. Frankly, this dlc should have been free, since they promised everyone a free dlc for the mess they made. I don’t consider the patches made, a few police tweaks, that was still awful, to be their argument that we got a dlc. No we didn’t get a DLC, we got patches. Phantom Liberty is absolutely a DLC, and it should have been free. Oh well. I played a ton of the game already, and I just watched the DLC on Twitch. I am not forking out $30 for a DLC that should have been free. It was a fantastic DLC though from what I watched.
@@BeersYourFriendthey didn’t work on it for 10 years…. It was in concept stages until about 2016. After they had finished wrapping up The Witcher 3 they didn’t start full production just fyi.
Panam had a similar bug with her sniper rifle. She would always walk in a ready fire mode. Even when the gun wasn’t in her hands, sometimes it looked like she was holding an invisible gun.
Was a really good DLC, just finished it tonight and don’t know what to do with myself now. I really appreciate games like this, that truly make your characters decisions MATTER when dealing in heavier plot points in the story. I found myself stopping a few times throughout and even wondering if what I was doing was right. Only good games get me this attached to characters, everything was very well written. I’m glad they didn’t throw in the towel with this game!
Honestly I had a lot of fun with my Nomad anti-tech character that I played through initially. Only ever touched ballistic weapons and only took the mandatory augments. Once I have the time for this, I'll be sitting down with a wild street kid that is super tech smart and manipulative. Can't wait!
I had the always holding the gun bug on Jackie when I first played cyberpunk at launch, it looked so stupid after the heist that I sat there laughing my ass off during one of the games most sad moments...
This year has been amazing game after amazing game. Cyberpunk 2077 already has a special place in my heart, release day fiasco and all, so hearing that the expansion is a great farewell goodbye to the game…I’m already getting pretty emotional about it. I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up as my personal GoTY.
I love cyberpunk and scifi in general - much more than high fantasy. So, when I first knew about this game back in 2014, you can bet I was super pumped - I also knew these guys back in 2008, I bought the first Witcher in my Freshman year and wowzer. So, you can fortell my disappointment with Cyberpunk...it was bad. If this was what came out originally - yeah GOTY. But with BG3, nah, this is not GOTY
Another weird bug I encountered multiple times was seeing completely rusted out cars without wheels, doors, hoods, etc. drive normally in traffic. I saw this a couple times in Night City specifically, not dogtown.
Played potentially half the story at launch and wandered off. Returned for 2.0. Mind blown and can't see myself wandering off on the game again. 2077 with all the updates they've done is truly mind blowing. Current build revolves around sprinting about at high speed with shotguns and it's brilliant fun.
Hopefully they learned from their mistakes and they don’t release the sequel in a similar state lol I actually played it on PS4 Pro at launch and it wasn’t TOO bad. It ran great and I didn’t get most of the crazy bugs a lot of people experiencing.
I’ve got the same gun bug with Jackie, except it happened twice so he ended up with a gun in each hand permanently. Fortunately his part doesn’t uhhh last long
Dude my games broken with apparently a bug thats been in the game sinc ethe start its called the relic glitch. Should have not gotten the game. And im on Playstation so the controller is no stop shaking. I waited 3 years to try it but it still busted
Is performance better tho? Because that was my biggest complaint. There is still no train system like cdpr said, no garages or apartments you can buy. Your lifepath is still basically useless. Cyberpunk is now nearing what it should have been from the get go and that doesn't really deserve praise tbh.
Before I watch this video, I want everyone who has made a comment to remember this: One of CDPR's publicity stunts was to announce that all of their future DLC will be free. And the best DLC so far is not free. I am no longer a fan of this game, and that's funny, because at launch I didn't hate it like everyone else did. I didn't ask for a refund. I just waited for the patches to see what I was offered. CDPR has done so little to impress me, that I believe the price I paid for at launch is all this game is worth. If anyone is enjoying this DLC, I really am glad for you. Sincerely.
@@Ocodo No, after the game launched abysmally, they literally said ALL future DLC will be free. All. I remember this vividly. Because I couldn't wait for the day where they backtracked on that. Release of the DLC was that day.

It's interesting how quick people are to forget and forgive. Go back to when CP was released. Heck even just before. The amount of threats and BS people threw at the devs. And today, we're just gonna be "oh, CDPR are the best, I love them, let me lick their boots please, they can do no wrong." Seriously, are we this easy to fool? CDPR was indeed one of the best devs out there. None of the greed that certain other studios have. Which they gladly highlighted and pointed out to score browniepoints with the gaming community. Then they release CP2077. And it's a disaster. Threats and childish behavior from a big part of the gaming community. CDPR was NOT to be trusted again. Today, we're praising them AGAIN. And even someone like Luke, who claims this and that. Consider the launch of CP2077 to be a 'fluke' ? That CDPR was just...what? Unlucky, did an oopsie and now all is forgiven? Do I need to remind you, that CDPR intentionally(read: *Intentionally* ) mislead YOU, me, and everyone else. When they KNEW the game was garbage, and tried to hide it even from reviewers. They literally LIED, and tricked *everyone* including you and you, and yoooou. But that's all water under the bridge now, because the game is finally good? That automatically makes their past sh-t forgotten, forgiven, and worthy of our money? Wow, we apparently have ZERO standard as gamers it seems. I wouldn't throw $1 at CDPR. I will never ever buy CP2077 or any expansions. They. Are. Not. Worthy. Of. Our. Money. If they made an oopsie, and had NO idea what state their OWN (read, their OWN game) was in back when it launched, then one might be able to forgive and move on. But they intentionally lied and tricked *US*. Sony removing it from PS-store isn't just a reaction to a "fluke". Death threates and that silly stuff some people resorted to, isnt done just because of a 'fluke'. People were pissed because CDPR *lied* Read that again, LIED, to you, to us. But hey, if peoples lives are SO effing boring that they jump on any game that comes out, I guess their standard really is sh-t. And feel free to defend CDPR, you still cannot take away the truth, the facts. You're just fooling yourself, and allowing others to take advantage of you, by simply shrugging and run out and buying anything CP2077-related. It could very well be a masterpiece, best thing that happened in a decade. Even IF that were the case, it still doesnt excuse their earlier behaviour. See why the greedy companies keeps using Microtransactions and stuff, despite "everyone" hating it? Because people just forget after 2 days, and then they run out and buy the same crap again, rinse and repeat. Look at NBA2K, last year it was a shitstorm around that game, and the year before that. I even said in one of the videos, that I bet same thing will happen next year, people will still buy the game they just took a dump on. And then they'll come whining online again how the game sux because of the greed. When will people actually LEARN? If you burn yourself on the stove, shouldn't you have learned by then, to NOT put your hand on the stove, preferably NEVER? People are ..dumb. Yet they sit online and pretend they're so smart and clever. Luke is someone I always..well almost always agreed with, we seem to be on the same page with many things. But this video alone, made me lose a ton of respect for this guy. But hey, enjoy the game. It's financed by the fools that enjoys being stepped on :)
@@jstout333 not very viable in practice though - maintaining two completely different development pipelines is too much of a pain in the ass for any single studio.
My PC cant handle this monster, the waiting game begins... Wishing everyone playing this game first time or again, as well as playing the new expansion, to have a fantastic time and enjoy the hell out of it! 🤘
It's not really that insane to run all the time. Insanity mode is just when you turn on path tracing. You can really just turn off ray tracing altogether (and use DLSS to give a big performance boost if you have a compatible GPU).
Haven't tried the DLC but only 2.0 and I don't really share your view that it feels like a new game at all, but rather a better optimized and smoother game experience. Given how many times they have reworked the skill system (Which is good if it improves it), it also shows that it was terrible in the first release. From what you are saying about the DLC, I believe that it might be what they wanted CP to be originally. But even with 2.0, the original CP on its own, I don't think makes up for the promises made about the game, especially the "All choice matters" statements (Within limits), which to me at least is the most crucial statement they made that they didn't fulfil. 2.0 as I see it, is but a bandage on these promises. That being said, I did enjoy CP and I have no doubt that I will enjoy the expansion as well, but will wait until it goes on sale :)
Coping mechanism: In December 2020 CDPR released an open beta, after almost 3 years after the beta test they launched the complete game and an expansion.
I have to say. I have been playing the 2.0 update on my new PC build and it’s absolutely mesmerizing. I have a 4090 FE, 7800x3D chip, and 32 gb ddr5. I am using a 42” LG C2 OLED TV as a Monitor. Im Running it on Ray tracing overdrive with path tracing. This to me is what next GEN gaming is supposed to be! I played the game so much this weekend and barely made it through act one. I just spent most of my time driving different cars around the city sightseeing. This new update is absolutely hypnotizing!
Its nice seeing footage from a 4090 and whatever CPU you use, but most of us dont have that kind of setup, so it would be nice to see comparisons with consoles or mid-range PC's. You know, so us poors can see what it would look like when we play it ha.
And now all the CDPR ball fondling is going to give them 0 reason to learn from their mistakes. "Oh look, we can put out $60 garbage as long as we fix it within a handful of years." Look, I'm glad they didn't just give up on it... but they shouldn't be praised until they put out a complete, playable game at launch.

@@techtical7079 Oh god you're a "Well I didn't have any problems. " person. Cyberpunk was unplayable on last gen consoles. When I upgraded to a PS5 I was surprised to see Cyberpunk wasn't actually a slide show presentation
@@spencerfletcher6933 Your first mistake is being on console. And at the end of the day, do i really have to give a shit about a platform i don't use that doesn't affect me?
Sorry Luke but 0:41 was not a fluke. CDPR deliberately didn't give review copy for old generation of consoles, they deliberately push game to the customer on platform that wasn't good enough for this game! It's pains me because I'm Polish and want them to succeed but lunch was terrible, they did work on the game that's right. But my meal (game) was served undercoock with missing potato with half baked schnitzel. We as games need to remember that, before giving them another dime.
The CDPR dev team was always incredible, but I do wonder if AAA gaming has reached a point where it’s getting too expensive to release boundary pushing games in a fully finished state. This also begs the question of whether releasing the game early was actually financially beneficial for the studio because of how much media exposure and sustained interest they have gotten just from simply fixing the game over the past few years. It has gained exposure and built on the player base every time they have put out a new update, and the anime has only revitalized the universe even more. And now they are about to get another injection from the DLC, which will undoubtedly do numbers at this point. While it’s great that CDPR stuck with the ship, I do worry that other AAA publishers are going to take note of how this kind of public setback can actually increase the shelf life and economic viability of single player games if done smartly. This could be yet another slimy method that publishers use to game the system and continue to release unfinished games on purpose. And given how utterly and embarrassingly unfinished the game was on release, I also wonder if the top brass at CDPR also had this plan in mind all along.
Nah man. AAA devs don't even care to stick with multiplayer games these days after a busted launch never mind single player. Easyest way to make money is get the hype up, pay for some good reviews, get your money, and then quetly stop releasing updates over the course of a year. What CDPR did here goes against all tenets of AAA gaming. They literally wasted millions of their profit on some DLC for a game everyone shat one and that was dead for years. Literally insane behaviour.
It's amazing and all but let's not sugar coat the launch as a "fluke" Luke, heh - the launch was horrendous for the different teams at CD and intentional from the higher ups, but I'm glad to see they stuck to it and almost fully realized the game's potential
Though the game is still missing what was originally promised (or so I've heard), the game does look great now. I'll give it that. But I still can't get over the fact that CDPR used the "Release now, fix it later" -mindset when the game was initially released. (I still haven't bought the game because of this) I don't want No Man's Sky -success stories from big gaming companies. I want games to be completed and fulfilling what was promised upon release. Not several years after launch. 😕
the fact that CDPR have admitted to their failed launch of the game but chose to stay with it and fix every part of it as a promise to their fans has made them regain my respect. Shows they really care.
I remember back when the game was new, I had a similar pistol bug but with Jackie. The relic for some reason was replaced with one of his pistols, so instead of handing me the relic inside Delamain at the end of the Heist, he basically shoved a gun in my face after it materialized from his skull.
I reallyyyy hope cd project red have learned their lesson now. They are easily one of the best game dev's if they take their time. It's just some of that mismanagement that fucked some of the reputation up.
100% idk what conspired to have them release the game when it clearly wasn't ready, but hopefully they aren't ever tempted to do it again. It could be that with the old consoles on the way out, they wanted to grab that market even though there's no earthly way this game would run well on those. Interesting that as soon as CDPR shifted to current gen exclusively, the game started improving exponentially.
@@gman7497 They wanted the sales from last gen consoles and christmas sales. Alot of the playerbase still had last gen consoles at the time, any odd decision made in gaming can easily be traced to "they were greedy"
@JuicedOnKids wasn't worth the huge hit to their reputation imo. On the other hand, (playing devils advocate here), if the game is only really finished just now, that woulda been 3 more years of dev with no ROI, shareholders would be irate, as well as the fanbase for having to wait that long. No doubt it was a horrible decision but I see how it could have happened.
@JuicedOnKids Yes, and they had already postponed the release twice, had a tight budget and received 8 million pre-orders. Their shareholders were worried that people would start canceling pre-orders and pressured them to release the game. It looks like management is to blame, but also the developers either weren't assertive enough to tell how much more time they really needed, or they got their estimates wrong. It also seems to me to be the fault of the RED Engine, which should have been retired after The Witcher 3 and is not suitable for such a complex game.
It wasn't even greed, it was disorderly management. Greed got the game released way sooner than it should have been, but has not much to do with the fundamental problems with the game that isn't the bugs.
The other night I experienced that random teleport glitch. I was in Pacifica checking out the borders of Dogtown, just checking it out to see if I could see anything cool, and i got slung all the way back to the street in front of Judy's apartment lol
So after I finished Baulders Gate, I went back to finish my Witcher Death March play through (I was replaying it playing to pass time for when Baulders Gate was supposed to drop for the ps5). While I was finishing the Witcher I saw people were going back to playing Cyber Punk. I didn’t finish Cyber Punk my first play through… but I am loving it now! I’m about 45 hours in and it is so much better. I think the food and drink mechanic needs a little work because they are overall useless. Like maybe different perks for different drinks and food would be cool. But overall having a great time.
After adding another 10hrs I find it so weird how many ppl are saying to restart the game, especially when they have like 50hrs + in you really don’t need too, there’s been a lot of change but it’s not anything super insane it’s still same story basic combat and it’s not like they changed the quests to accommodate the changes so it still plays mostly the same besides a couple new abilities you get like the dash jumping
I did notice some differences, but nothing game changer. It's a little bit like if Starfield fixed their "small issues". The AI works better, and some RPG elements to, so the enemies are not as st*pid, the police reacts better to what you do, and NPCs will escape with their cars if you aim at them with a weapon, instead of leaving the car and running away + now you have a reason to try a few more builds, altho blades still broken. I feel like people were to harsh on Cyberpunk, and now they're trying to do a complete 180. Like... what happened to all the huge issues everyone were talking about, like dialogue options, story, etc? The main problem with the game on release WERE THE BUGS and how poorly the game was running on previous gen hardware, like PS4 and Xbox One, making the game completely unplayable on previous gen consoles, and a lot of people's hardwares on PC to, but not the game on it's "core". Because people like to complain, they brought up a lot of other issues that, as has just been demonstrated, were either small, or were not issues in the first place, because the "base game" it's the same one now. If you didn't like the setting, the story, the music, the characters and the gameplay, guess what? It's not that different now. Let's not pretend like if this was No Man's Sky 2.0, because it wasn't. It's closer to The Last Of Us Part 1 on PC or Batman Arkham Knight's port + a few small changes. For me they're small, because when the police is after me, I try to escape as soon as possible, and I don't care, the way enemies react to me don't matter that much as soon as you get a little bit more powerful, because, just like in Starfield, they die to fast for you to see how they react, and the RPG changes were more reasons to use other builds, pretty much, so that explains why they want you to start the game from scratch, to see if you like something different now, and to get used to the new changes. That's it.
I honestly don't know how they were able to build such an incredibly complex, gorgeous, realistically futuristic, dangerous city with such amazing graphics and detail. The art and everythng has such a cool and distinct syle to it and feels like everything you look at the artist was pouring everything he had into making a world that's unlike something you've ever really seen before. Just designing and building the city alone is a monumental achievement
Just started playing last night on ps5, first next gen game I’ve played and omg it’s mind blowing. When you walk out the apartment then meet up with dex in the car with his cigar smoke, it was so seamless and natural and the lighting is incredible. The hardest part is putting the damn game down lol !
Now I'll wait another year or more for a third-person update, and then I'll finally play it. NGL, I don't expect that. I'm happy for owners of the game that finally got this game realized, but personally, once a studio launches a game like they did with this one, in the state that it was, I'll never ever preorder from them again. Still, they deserve some respect for having stuck with it, which is more than some/many devs when they have a really bad launch.
Btw Update 2.0 is the last update this game is ever going to get, and this expansion being the one and only expansion. They are done with the game and have already started developing the sequel in a brand new game engine, it might come out around 2027. The sequel might actually be the masterpiece we all expected from 2077.
There are 3rd person mods on pc, but it is tough adding 3rd person since apparently the entire game was built around the camera being 1st person, so even the mod isn't perfect. The sequel might be different.
about the void pit and the super late pop-in, i experienced this whenever going at high speeds on the roads, to the point i would fall out of the map if i didn't lower the speed to under 100mph, but i brushed it off as the consequences of running it at 10fps on a potato laptop, so interesting it happened for you too
Game looks amazing can’t wait to start a new playthrough. Just gotta find time between this and Starfield (Started a war in the comments…I’m just a guy who enjoys two diff types of games lol)
I was super invested in Starfield and having a lot of fun... up until 2.0 dropped and now I can't play more than like 20 minutes of Starfield without getting bored and just going back to Cyberpunk. :(
@@AstarionWifey Well, I can't argue with you there. I'm just personally able to forgive CDPR as they are indeed human, the dev team was not at fault, and they've corrected most of the issues the community had with the game. But you do you as they say! Totally ok with other's opinions which is becoming rare nowadays. 😃
The pistol glitch - had the same issue with Jackie in the last update. We’re under cover at the Konpeki plaza but he had guns in both hands. And instead of holding them, they were floating 1m away from the hands lol
I'm going to stay skeptical or cautiously optimistic about their future games, still. I'll just stay unhyped, but intrigued. They better not do the edited gameplay bullshit, anymore. Also, please add a 3rd person mode to the sequel, ffs...
15:29 Idris had unlocked the secrets of the Matrix, and uses it to float his gun to confuse and at times intimidate people he may not trust. Maybe he got into contact with some of those evil ai in the net to unlock such power.
Glad CDPR continued working on Cyberpunk after 2020 backlash of being subpar, the game really got a lot of updates
It honestly just had bandwagon hate. People give bethesda a pass for way more mediocre games, remastered with the same bugs since launch that they didnt give cyberpunk.
Fun fact: You commented on Pyro's video and Asmongold
@nolives nope had it in 2020, and it was a bug riddled. It ran like crap and the story isn't that great tbh. Rpg elements were below subpar, and it was simply overhyped by the community.
Still a trash game.
@@noliveslmao bandwagon hate?? The game was broken
It's just a shame that the game couldn't have been released now and we'd all be fucking raving how incredible it is
Yeah exactly. Whereas now even tho they've made the game amazing I'm sure the casual players will still keep shitting on it just because of the reputation it got at launch, which is really sad to see when personnaly this game made me live such an incredible experience in terms of story, characters, the atmosphere and architecture of the world, the lore, side quests, the soundtrack.. even in the little details like the design of cars and guns you can see so much work went into all those things, it's depressing to see the game get treated as bad as the worst trash like fallout 76
still just an action adventure came not an rpg
What’s really incredible is the 60 page long steam bug page for the 2.0 update. Trash 🗑
i dunno, i still think they fucked up with the first person perspective. .i was looking forward to a witcher style game.. whats the point of all this clothes and character options when you never see your character?
They should have released Cyberpunk 2077 this year imagine how good the reviews and how positive everyone would've been of this game as it is now man
The mistake was porting the game to the old gen, it was clearly not aimed for that, and its was a middle of development "corpo" decision.
And is still has some weird bugs, at least over 2.0 version, but nothing major.
@@MarcioSilva-vf5wk Nope.
It would had been part of the greatest year for gaming my opinion.
I'm glad I waited 3 years to play this game. Time to play it for the first time
Same lol
I've done the same. Waited for 2.0 and started then :) What a blast of a game, eh?
Same here
Yeah I bought it at launch , played for 30 minutes, refunded and sat in my chair smoking a cigar in a dimly lit room.....waiting....until now
Unfortunately, not everyone can give that strategy a go or else such games would simply be declared failures thus all support would be dropped on the spot.
Same here. On my 4th playthrough now. The 2.0 made it feel new all over again. Its so good that it makes it hard to enjoy other games as much
I wanted to play it but realized I would need to start a new save and go back far into the story again an not have all the stats I worked for....
@@cowel8734 I’m on my 4th play through as well. I’m already level 30 before meeting Takemura at the cafe 😂

Mind bogglingly beautiful
Awe inspiringly beautiful
Ball bustingly beautiful
Boombastically beautiful
I know people love Blood and Wine, but story wise HoS is just supreme.
man...more witcher makes me wanna play it. every time i try to play i get like 10 hours in before i stop and play something else, not because i didn't enjoy or love the game but because i get distracted with other games im playing around the same time(having a huge gaming backlog sucks lol) and then i just forget to play thru it and by time i decide to play it again i force myself to restart those 10 hours. its a game that i feel needs 100% dedication towards and rn i don't think i'll get that
when i do decide to play it tho, because it will happen tho are the dlcs worth it?
@@MythicAce218The witcher dlc is worth it 100%. Ridicolous low price for this quality I think
The finale was soooo good
Just the price for the witcher dlc is reason to buy it let alone the quality
Idk man, imo HoS story is by far the greatest video game story of all time, I can't think of any other game that comes even close story-wise.
The pistol glitch is a throwback. Jackie had a gun in hand when he took the chip out of his head during his death scene. Hardest I ever laughed at a death scene.
Oh yeah I remember that 😂
I genuinely appreciate your efforts not to deliver any spoilers during your review!
I basically had the game since the launch but this video definitely made me want to get back into it to see for myself how much better it's gotten
It's legitimately more fun. I really enjoyed it before but the updated skill tree is awesome.
I actually care about cyberware now.
And? What’s your verdict?
It’s excellent!!!! Didn’t think it was going to be my favorite game this year but it’s topping all of them. It’s like a huge blockbuster movie, that doesn’t suck.
Same. I've been playing this and BG3 at the same time. Now, if CP2077 came out this year, it would've been head-to-head with Baldur's Gate for GOTY
Are you trying to say that I can no longer come in like Rambo walking through the front door shooting wildly and survive on the spot?
@@jessicaguarin3897 Depends entirely on your build, but it's certainly not doable with any setup anymore. Some endgame builds can definitely still do it.
Not just that, it’s the best game I’ve played in years. A masterpiece in storytelling, and I’ve always been a gameplay over story guy, but this one is a game changer. Absolutely worth every cent. Eldris Alba add it was pure genius. It feels like the best CIA agent game I’ve ever played, some games have slow parts, this one has none!
Corpo feels appropriate for this one. Finally.

What a cool perspective
I always loved Cyberpunk, even at launch. Definitely going to play this after Starfield, get some holiday at christmas so might save playing until then and fully immerse.
I played this game on release and even though it was a buggy mess, it was still one of my most favourite games I've ever played.
Now, with the 2.0 and Phantom Liberty releasing in 2 hrs , I started playing again yesterday and realized how much changed
And just after an hour with a new character, I was back with the most fun I had in a long time with just seeing the improvements.

I'm playing through main base game and the changes are soooooo good, excited to see how expansion differentiates from base game!!
Just finished.
My top moments:
- As the plane crashes into dogtown
- Great Idis Elba introduction
- When you use the netrunner to find songbird, really cool the way the time stops with the red matrix VFX
- Party at Hanson tower, the Phoenix performance, very cool
- The excruciating dilemma to side with Songbird or Reed aaaarrrrghhhh (and the following escape was pretty cool)
Through the whole game only a couple of minor Annoyances:
- After playing for a few hours my game started to lag only when opening and closing menus, but fixes itself on reload.
Yup been saying it since I beat the game in 2020 and the story is middle of the road as it gets. Glad the dlc story looks a bit better.
he felt that because phantom liberty has been in development for almost as long as the base game itself, but instead of trying to actually make all the game mechanics in that time frame they had time to work more on the story aspects and such, it's basically the same case with blood and wine
well they arent going to completely redo whole missions in the base game so cry harder and get over it fr lmao. U literally beat it multiple times ur fine stop trying to find anything to complain about and just enjoy what we got till the next game
Yes it is. You didn’t like the story, sucks for you, but the story and the characters are objectively top tier. So yes, CP after fixing all the mechanics and issues/bugs is now indeed what it’s supposed to be.
what do you mean? the main story was awesome from the Goro car chase to the Panam missions to the Johhny Silverhand quests.
Luke: "It makes every other studio out there right now look like they're not even trying"
Larian Studios: Am I a joke to you?
honestly i’m proud of them! they didn’t abandon the game n owned up to make it better. from netflixs edgerunners to phantom liberty they’ve done a splendid job story wise! sush an intriguing world n i can’t wait to play it again!
That pistol bug was first seen on Panam since way back then. It's funnier with Panam because it's an entire sniper rifle stuck on her hand.
@12:40 Ghost of Tsushima title screen for sure. on horse back riding through that field. gave me goosebumbs lol
I'm done.

Lol, same. Starfield was so mind-numblingly boring, that I'm not sure if my love for CP77 2.0 is due to its own merits, or if its significantly boosted by the fact that I've had the displeasure of playing starfield a few days ago.

After playing more, I knew I wasn't going to even renew the gamepass, and cancelled it.

10 years and still a disappointment despite 2.0 😂😆😂😆
I don't believe they were working for all those years
@@Killer-vi4ih You’re probably right.

Was a really good DLC, just finished it tonight and don’t know what to do with myself now. I really appreciate games like this, that truly make your characters decisions MATTER when dealing in heavier plot points in the story. happy to see this game’s comeback
I had the always holding the gun bug on Jackie when I first played cyberpunk at launch, it looked so stupid after the heist that I sat there laughing my ass off during one of the games most sad moments...
This year has been amazing game after amazing game. There is still no train system like cdpr said, no garages or apartments you can buy.
Your lifepath is still basically useless. Cyberpunk is now nearing what it should have been from the get go and that doesn't really deserve praise tbh.
Just because the dealership decides to put wheels on the car you bought from them 3 years later doesn't redeem them. The bar is so low.

You love to see it, another strange 2023 W, hope we keep getting them
15:31 dude that’s a cyber perk calls “minds of its own” 🤣🤣
Thanks for the review. 👍👍
Cyberpunk is not and was never about the combat, police chases, etc. It's about those emotional story moments that stick with you
This has come such a long way over the last few years, it sorta makes me feel like a proud father.
The fact that this game is on their proprietary engine and looks as good as U5 is mind-blowing
Sadly, they're dropping the engine for U5 😢
I kinda feel the Red Engine should continue for the Cyberpunk series while Unreal Engine being used for the Witcher series.
@@jstout333 whichever engine gets it here faster is fine by me lol
@@jstout333 not very viable in practice though - maintaining two completely different development pipelines is too much of a pain in the ass for any single studio.
That pistol bug is genuinely hilarious 😂
I’ve played it since the update, and yeah it’s like playing a sequel, everything has been improved, everything!!!!
Yep. It’s like an entire different game. Nothing but positive things to say from me.
@@nickbusker725 The dlc is even better, trust me!!!!
I had that pistol bug with Jackie on 2.0 starting out lol. I swear they fixed this way back too, but it came back to haunt us again.
You can really just turn off ray tracing altogether (and use DLSS to give a big performance boost if you have a compatible GPU).
the chimera boss fight had a special attack where it attacked my framerate. truly advanced tech they have in night city
i really really think cyberpunk 2077 should’ve been a espionage-esque game and phantom liberty proved it
Haven't tried the DLC but only 2.0 and I don't really share your view that it feels like a new game at all, but rather a better optimized and smoother game experience.
@@zoubeirfaouzi149
You are correct about that :D
@Joe-no7gs your mom let me move it into her house last week
Its nice seeing footage from a 4090 and whatever CPU you use, but most of us dont have that kind of setup, so it would be nice to see comparisons with consoles or mid-range PC's. You know, so us poors can see what it would look like when we play it ha.
Can’t wait to get it on sale in three years.
I waited to play it till the last update. Best game I’ve ever played. And I’ve played some good ones.
And now all the CDPR ball fondling is going to give them 0 reason to learn from their mistakes. "Oh look, we can put out $60 garbage as long as we fix it within a handful of years."
Look, I'm glad they didn't just give up on it... but they shouldn't be praised until they put out a complete, playable game at launch.
exactly thank god someone else said it
15:14 yes finallyyy I thought I was the only one, I noticed it first during the roulette scene. I sat down at the bar with him and I immediately said “woah buddy chill we’re supposed to be under cover now 🤣”
I really hope they make a sequel and downtown on the RPG Mechanics. Also please don’t tie the entire story to a celebrity.
a good actor is a good actor
Replaying the game and riding in a car with someone for a mission still looks super floaty
I love how we a praising a dev/publisher. For giving us the game they promised 2 years ago.
Credit where credit is due, the DLC is good, the update is good. And they kept working on the game and patched things out. Unlike a lot of developers.
@@techtical7079 Its sad that the gaming bar is "Well yeah they lied and scammed people out of money at release. But they fixed it after a couple years. "
The DLC is good but them telling customers the game ran perfectly and paid reviewers to hide stuff on release. Is completely fucking scummy.
@@spencerfletcher6933 I rarely had any issues with the game even on launch.
No board of directors is willingly going to take the stock hit that CDPR did at launch
Wish there was more character customization options, new hair styles and eye colors at least. Hope more get added at some point
So you can never see them?
Theres hundreads of mods even a buff v
@woebegone2492 yes, because every game should rely on modders to pull their weight with the content
@TheRoleplayer40k you do know that there are people who like photo mode in such a beautiful game right?
It's amazing and all but let's not sugar coat the launch as a "fluke" Luke, heh - the launch was horrendous for the different teams at CD and intentional from the higher ups, but I'm glad to see they stuck to it and almost fully realized the game's potential
Maybe on prev gen. I was playing on PC on 1050 ti and was astonished what t F ppl are btchin about. One hard lock, 3 glitches. That's all
its really hard to know how buggy the launch was with clickbait, if something was a fluke or it was a serious game breaking thing affecting everyone.
Though the game is still missing what was originally promised (or so I've heard), the game does look great now. I'll give it that.
But I still can't get over the fact that CDPR used the "Release now, fix it later" -mindset when the game was initially released. (I still haven't bought the game because of this)
I don't want No Man's Sky -success stories from big gaming companies. I want games to be completed and fulfilling what was promised upon release. Not several years after launch. 😕
the fact that CDPR have admitted to their failed launch of the game but chose to stay with it and fix every part of it as a promise to their fans has made them regain my respect. Shows they really care.
... They do like money, that is true.
@guyincle126charging for the dlc. Not the update. It is a dlc after all
I remember back when the game was new, I had a similar pistol bug but with Jackie.
This coming out in the same month as Starfield blows my mind. Having played 2.0 and Starfield its like they are from different generations of games
Yeah I don't think I'm gonna make a new V, just gonna pick back up where I left off on my endgame V.
Yeah V is still a really douchy cringe character so all this doesn't change that.
The ending mission was the most stressful terrifying adrenaline rush I’ve ever had in a video game.
"Every studio not even trying." Not Larian, my dude, BG3 it's one of the best games I've played in my 28 years.
3 years later and Cyberpunk 2077 is still a hot topic and an even more awesome game. If anyone can do it, it's CDPR.
about the void pit and the super late pop-in, i experienced this whenever going at high speeds on the roads, to the point i would fall out of the map if i didn't lower the speed to under 100mph, but i brushed it off as the consequences of running it at 10fps on a potato laptop, so interesting it happened for you too
Game looks amazing can’t wait to start a new playthrough. Just gotta find time between this and Starfield
(Started a war in the comments…I’m just a guy who enjoys two diff types of games lol)
Careful.. CP buries starfield in terms of combat mechanics. It kinda destroyed my enjoyment of Starfield.
Starfield is really mediocre, just drop it for something actually good.
@@kyler247I want to like it so much more than I do. Playing BG3 before it made it feel so boring.

I was super invested in Starfield and having a lot of fun... up until 2.0 dropped and now I can't play more than like 20 minutes of Starfield without getting bored and just going back to Cyberpunk. :(
I’m super attached to my OG V so I’ll probably do both. Start over with a new V but also continue my OG Vs story and choose different choices in both
Two European Devs showing how it should be done. Thank you to Larian and CDPR.
Eastern European. No western political agendas bs.
Uhhhh releasing a broken game and fixing it 2 years later is good? Huh I guess they have lower standards for European devs

Nah Larian only ❤
@@AstarionWifey Well, I can't argue with you there.
