Been in the natural hair game for 12 years now. I think one of the most important thing I've learned is not doing my hair when I'm tired, in a rush or upset. You have to be GENTLE with your hair. Hair is not chain links. You'd be surprised how rough and hasty you are with your hands when you are not in a good headspace. *But let's talk about your glowing skin tho😁*
Yes, that's so true. My wash day process is 2 hrs ith the 3 steps i do( shampoo 1x, condition for 5 mins, and deep conditon with heat for 30 mins, then cold rinse for 5 mins) and my final step is detangle, moisturize and seal then style it up so it can last the rest of the week or 4 days. Somebody said that was too much. I'm like....... no it's not! usually my wash day is set on a day i look forward too and don't have nothing else to do and got going on and hope don't pop up on that day. Them two hrs i cater to my hair give it TLC that it need and deserve.
@@thefactsaccordingtogabbie149 That's right Gabbie you got it!😁 Whoever told you your routine is too much doesn't know what they're talking about because your routine is actually light and simple. My wash days consumes most of my day.
My lazy routine is cowash weekly, then leave in, then gel. I detangle with my leave in. Without the gel it takes an hour, with the gel it takes 2. You can skip the gel. I shampoo & DC once a month. Just make sure you use a cowash that actually cleanses and you should be good

Whether you're a beginner or a long timer THIS is the best source for all things natural hair! Watch her past videos and takes notes, you won't regret it. Her scientific info alone will change your life!
I think the most important things I've learned from my natural hair journey is, - Your hair is not theirs - To learn to read ingredients and know what they do rather than watching to see if the product works for someone else. - The first 5 ingredients is what the product has the most of.
My hair is a lot less textured than probably 98% of your viewership, but I still find tons of value in your videos. I might have to use a lighter hand but I still think most of your tips, tricks, and DIY's will work for me. So Thank you for doing the science and putting this information out here for us!
Green Beauty, of course we want to see your natural hair journey. You got me watching a video for beginners 4 years into my journey, don't you?! Make it and we will watch!
ladies and even guys are going natural all the time, so there are definately , newbies joining the natural hair journey. Some are even returning to the journey, so thanks for this video, we appreciate you for thinking of the newbies.
I'd like a natural hair journey video. I've noticed THE ONLY WAY, I see growth is through protective styling!!! (Twists) My hair being in a stretched state and me loving my kinky curls has been working amazing and it's only been a month and I can already see growth! 💕
I’m thirteen years old and I just started trying to really take care of my hair during quarantine and I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.Ive done a lot of research and I have found out that o have low porosity hair and it my hair sheds a lot and I’ve been trying rice water for about a month now and it’s not working. Also I can’t find any gel that would slick down my hair and have absolutely no clue where to start!Im starting to think Ima be bald head forever😭
TheLexiShow sometimes gels can dry out your hair and if you’re wearing ponytails or buns, it can cause tension on your edges which might make them break. If you haven’t already checkout videos on how to make flaxseed gel (moisturizer - won’t dry your hair) or even using a heavier butter to lay flyaways and frizz (Shea/castor oil). Have fun on your journey!!!
Okay big tip, ignore every single video/trend/advice on how to get growth fast, because there's always something new, and three years later you'll still be where you started or worse. Focus on advice that teaches out to keep the ends of your hair on your head, because that's where length retention mostly happens. Focus on the health of your scalp and hair. I think the most important thing is the thickness of your individual strands, a lot of advice/styles/low manipulation ideas can become destructive for fine strands, Curl type, porousity, density are mildly helpful or not at all. Oh and when you get to shoulder length, put your hair up in not too tight updos, most people's hair isn't being retained past their shoulders because they're running against clothes and fabric wearing their hair down and out and over months and years that sucks moisture and grates their inches away.
I shave my hair off in February and I dont regret it. I'm very happy because it was the best decision. Your video is very helpful to me. Natural hair is so beautiful
Very helpful.I've been natural all my life except for that one time I texturied my hair after Form 5 for Graduation.Didn't like it so grew out my hair and cut off the straightener.I had a terrible dandruff problem for years so the hair stylist recommended doing a treatment every two weeks.I thought the money I'd have to put out bi monthly and discovered the whole natural hair community and all these vids.Really helped, dandruff gone and my hair has grown a lot since then-from about chin length to about mid back now. ALL GLORY TO JESUS :) I've come a long way but I feel lost lol. Learnt a whole lot but never really developed a proper hair care regimen so doing some research.Your vids are incredibly helpful. Thanks much.Gives me the info and confidence to take care of this hair God has blessed me with.
You need to rename your channel THEE BEST GREEN BEAUTY because this is the best channel there is. If everyone were this knowledgeable and thorough I would’ve enjoyed my natural hair a lot sooner. I WATCH YOUR VIDEOS JUST BECAUSE!!!!
She is the truth guys. Since watching her videos and learning from her my hair is super healthy and has grown past my shoulders. It's easier to manage and twists like magic. The routine is a crucial part of healthy hair.
I am new here. I am 41 and have had relaxed hair since the age of 11. I cut it all off on July 4, 2020 and I am excited for this journey. I love my natural TWA and I am looking forward to July 4, 2021, God spare life to see how it flourishes.
I am transitioning so this was very helpful. I relaxed my hair for over 30 years and decided to stop doing it because of the hair loss and the lack of CARE stylist/beauticians were giving my hair. I relied on them heavily to keep my hair healthy but times have changed and it's all about their change $$$$$$. I love your videos so keep them coming.
I've been on my hair journey for years, I get lazy so this video will give me a boost. My hair is rather upset with me these days... LOL. The links you provided in the desc. box does not work.
I've been natural my entire life. Did a big chop a few months ago( cut 20 inches off) . Now I'm growing back my hair. All now is deep condition and use castor oil. My hair is growing. I think just leaving your hair alone and not buy all these expensive products is the best thing. I have a video up on my channel if your interested to see my journey.
This video is for beginners--it's right there in the title! :) I'm sure most of us know someone who would benefit from this video. Not to mention, just bec we are not beginners doesn't mean we are doing everything right for our hair. I certainly learned something new just now and I've been natural for almost 30 years. Glad I watched and will recommend.
I really like that you say you have to love your hair to take proper care of it. I've been natural for 3 years and I've noticed that the only times I've cause dramatic damage to my hair is when I was unhappy with it and wanted it to be something it wasn't.
Could u please do a video on how to seal your hair ? I really don’t know how to keep moisture in after I deep condition! Really helpful video as I’m feeling quite lost on how to take care of my hair .
Washing your hair in twists! YES!!! I don't know why this advice is not mentioned more often. Once my hair is touched by water, it shrinks, it frizzes up, it tangles and it's at its most fragile. A nightmare!😫
I have learned twist firmly keep hands close together so stays stretched and less likely to come undone. Also after washing each section bantu or clip to other side of head.

Thanks for taking time to post this. I agree your channel is the best and most educational out there.for many year I had no relaxer and only flat ironed my hair. Then when I decided to not flat iron I couldn’t understand why it was so dry until I watched one of your videos about kinky curly hair and sebum not being able to slide down so easily. I also learned the importance of deep conditioning and real protein treatments. Please keep sharing.😊
I'm here from a black british afro doc I watched. This was super helpful, I've taken from it that I should find a consistent hair washing routine and to moisturise consistently. I'm super curious about heatless stretching and the types of moistures to use. I've never been able to grow my hair into a thick luscious afro like my sisters. it's a cute afro but still very fine, it's also at that awkward stage of not being long or short but it doesn't want to seem to grow more so I look forward to learning more.
You, my lady! There's no description on Earth to describe how stunning you are, and how much your content is greatly appreciated! Btw, your animation is dope! Thank you for you!
I want my hair this long. My hair is currently in passion twists I install myself. I don't trust anyone with my hair. My hair grows wayyy more when it is braided or twisted. I put jamaican lime black castor oil with vitamin A, C, smells great. I also use Doo gro. I use a protein leave in sometimes due to my natural/relaxed hair. I'm transitioning again and the best way for my hair is twists in my opinion. I have seen many people transition with twists and their hair grew so long.
I'm not a beginner but I'm here for the information. Also, I'm still learning about my hair. I was natural for four years and had the biggest UNHEALTHY afro so I had to cut it all off. Definitely wish I would taken the time to learn what was best for my hair. To new beginnings...
I'm very excited for the twist video because me and my younger sister are both natural (I've been for about 6 years and she's going on about 3). I have a looser texture than her beautiful and kinky 4C crown, but we're still not sure the best way to stretch it. Her roots are always tightly coiled when she does twists while the ends her hair is more stretched. Super excited to show her the video!
