Sooo i think I can safely say that our moms, not entirely their fault, simply didn't know how to care for our hair because EVERY black girl should have had hair like your beautiful daughter! Wow, and for sooooo long, that's been the accepted belief for black little girls. This was inspiring! Thank you! Edit: thanks for the likes ladies.
This is such a silly and uneducated statement. Do you think every other race has a magic 'secret' regimen where they rely on external concoctions and specific manipulation to grow hair? No, if you have to stand on your head and do cartwheels in order for you to keep hair on your head, it is the exception, not the rule.
What she is doing works for them. I hate to see videos like this and people get on and comment about adding heat or cutting as a must. Growing up, we had hair that was well taken care of and long. Trimming never took place and our hair thrived with either cornrows for 2-3 weeks or air dry (with plaits) or a roller set for a week.
That makes so much sense because it says our hair grows half an inch a month that's an inch in two months yet say cut ends every 6 to 8 weeks basically all the hair you just grew you end up cutting right back off. Thanks for the info
Some of these comments are mind blowing. If mom didn’t know how to handle or take care of her baby’s hair, it wouldn’t be as long as it is now. Sheesh 🙄. Good job mom!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤❤
Her hair is beautiful. As black ppl we were told that water wasn't good for our hair, don't get your hair wet meanwhile it's what should have been said was pls wet your hair.
Olive oil is a chemical too. Everything around us is a chemical. Shampoo, conditioner and hair creams are good for your hair. They're designed specifically for that purpose.

When I was 8, I could tuck my braids under my arm pits. Then I asked for a perm because I hated how long I had to sit getting washed and then next day after air dry to press and curl. I'm natural again now wish I never had permed. I am back to shoulder length after big chop and looking forward to this. Her hair is beautiful❤😊

Hello Queen, I absolutely love the time and care you put into your sons hair as well as your daughter's. Her hair is so healthy! I would like to ask what would you suggest or recommend to regrow and thicken edges?
Not sure if I missed you saying it, but do you ever clip her ends? Because her ends dont look freshly clipped or have that blunt, even cut look. Not that thats a bad thing!! Her hair is beautiful! Im just curious, because I keep seeing all these videos that say we cant retain length unless we are trimming our ends regularly, but clearly this beautiful girl has long healthy hair at multiple lengths! People try to say that's breakage when the hairs are just growing at different rates. You can even see where it tapers, because I assume the hair grows at different speeds, but her hair is clearly flourishing without the blunt cut look thats trendy now and being pushed for "growth" and length retention. So Im just curious if you trim her hair regularly, or at all?
We don’t have to trim to grow hair. Trims just even out the ends and in cases of severely damaged ends, it makes the hair look better. The more gentle and protective you are of your hair and ends by keeping them moisturized, gently detangled, the better your ends will be. Those who don’t trim have tapered ends and imo, if you don’t straighten your hair, it looks great on Afro hair.
