- Cab view from Tokyo Station to Nakano Station on the JR East Chuo Main Line.
This line crosses central Tokyo from east to west, but it was originally constructed as a private railway line and opened in 1889 between Shinjuku Station and Tachikawa Station, 27km west of Shinjuku Station. After that, the line was extended in both east and west directions, but in 1906 it was acquired by the government and the Chuo Line became a line of the Japanese National Railways. Japan National Railways was dismantled in 1987 and became JR.
Currently, the Chuo Line Rapid Service, which starts at Tokyo Station and goes to Hachioji Station and Takao Station via Shinjuku Station, is one of Tokyo's most representative commuter lines, and EMUs with orange bands are running on it.
The Chuo Local Line(Chuo kanko Line) also runs parallel to this route. This line does not go through Tokyo Station, but instead connects Chiba and Mitaka City via Akihabara Station, which is two stations north of Tokyo, and lines line up from Ochanomizu Station on the way. "Kanko" means slow, and more stations have been built than the Chuo Line rapid service. EMU of Chuo kanko Line are with yellow bands.
This video was recorded from Tokyo Station to Nakano Station. Please be aware that on the way from Iidabashi Station to Yotsuya Station, the train runs from north to south, so the light beams will be backlit. From Iidabashi Station to Ichigaya Station, you can see the water on your right. This is not a pond, but the remains of Edo Castle's moat.

Thank you for this video. My wife and I rode on this line from Nakano back to Tokyo last summer. We went to a shotengai near Nakano eki.
That trip is groovy. Wouldn't the shotengai near Nakano station be nice? It's a little suspicious.
Thanks for this ride. I usually prefer your single track videos, but this one surprised me! Apparently morning rush hour, with frequent trains going the other way, not only on this line, but on other lines that showed up alongside this one. And, every once in a while, interesting track work between the different lines. I enjoyed all of that!
This is a video taken in the morning. Although it is not the peak rush hour, there are certainly many trains going in the opposite direction (in other words, the direction of the city center where Tokyo Station is located).
こうやってみると、東京ー神田の勾配、えぐいですね。たしかに東京駅１階あげたんですもんね。そうなるわ。

5:03 御茶ノ水駅では快速線から緩行線に入線する列車・電車（臨時・回送も含めて）はあるのでしょうか？
私は現場の人間ではないので、運用のことは解りません。お茶の水で線路はつながっているので、入線は可能でしょうが、定期的な運用はないのではないでしょうか？

私も詳しいことはわからないのですが、２年か３年ほど前まで、かつて山梨県の大月駅発各駅停車東京行きという電車が運行されていて、大月駅から東京駅まですべての駅に停車していました。つまり、三鷹駅から始まる緩行線（総武線各駅停車と共用）に入線し、東京駅までの中央線各駅（例えば千駄ヶ谷とか水道橋なども）に停車していました。
