All these apologists for Will Smith in this clip are revolting. Also, what a way to teach your children right from wrong. You have a wife who constantly disrespects her husband and openly cheats on him
You have a husband who's lost all respect for himself and is trying pathetically to win his wifes approval back, which he will never get
and you have children who are so sheltered and out of touch with reality they think they can do whatever they want and get away with it. Jaden wouldn't last a minute in a real fight. He would curl up and cry instantly

While I sit here looking like the ass hat in the room. Sure Chris was out of line, and will should have just said fuck off man leave my wife’s health out of your jokes and that would have been that. If Chris had kept going then yeah sure slap the guy…maybe 🤔…not the best way to go about it. I mean he could have always walked away …that would have put a impression on how he felt about someone joking about his wife and her health issues. Never in my life would I be more horrified than to see my partner act in such a violent way. Do not romanticize violence. It's not okay to act out on your emotions. He could had protected and stood up for Jada in another way with more tact and dignity. But we don't know what goes on behind closed doors. How would you do if Will Smith didn't have a prostitute every night? How would you know if he didn't have some kind of drug habit that she's had to deal with for years?
I don't really care for Jada Smith because I think she exploits everyone on her show but you do not know what she has kept out of the public to keep her husband's image nice and shiny and clean. Do yourselves a favor and stop believing everything you see in here on the internet especially when it comes to Hollywood. Will has possibly put her through a lot and maybe that's why he felt he needed to defend her I don't know cuz I'm not there every night in their bed. Neither are any of you. But stop believing everything you hear & only half of what you see. It's Hollywood.

I'm still waiting for someone to explain the "INSULT" of a joke comparing her to a strong, beautiful woman, not defined by her lack of hair???
Aside from the fact there's not a single illness in the history of man that hasn't had a joke about it, including those that are terminal, some seem to forget that laughter is the best medicine.
You have to be very weak inside to let words bring you down. People can CHOOSE to be insulted or hurt by anything, or they can choose to laugh.
Violence against words is never ok.
My dad always told me; "If you throw the first punch, you've already lost the argument."
It is the lack of Justice, and any real remorse (PR statements aside) from Will Smith as well as The Academy's lack of action that has most people upset.
If Will had made a sincere apology, instead of justifying his actions, trying to paint himself the hero and protector...that might have been a different story, but he crossed every line as a professional and as a human being and living in denial of that isn't the path to healing.
The Academy's words and claims are empty as their actions speak for them and they DID condone violence. They gave it an Award and a Standing Ovation.

Having their son say.. " that's how we do it" shows exactly why Wills behaviour was 100% wrong. At 52 years of age...coming from where he's come, everything he's overcome to being the respectable man he is...to revert back to that childish behaviour showing, teaching by example to young people of today likecJayden this is how it's done!? Violence like that simply shows a small man, with no self control, no respect for anyone else there...the kids, the Williams family, the academy and fellow artists...all over a comedian doing his job. When will Smith is doing his job...acting..and was making fat jokes about uncle phil, short jokes about Carlton...or on Bad Boys..the one liners, Men in black ...Will has made jokes while doing his job...so Chris was doing his. Also at first Will laughed a long with everyone till Jada made a face....only then did Will get up...had their marriage not been so controversial the last 5 years with Jadas infidelity her lies ,cheating having an affair for 2 years with a 22 year old....boy. Perhaps Will wouldn't of felt the need to act so desperate to " defend" a woman who humiliated him, her family their marriage for 1/2 a decade....with zero remorse. Had Chris really been trying to throw disrespect at Jada he would of brought up August...and the humiliation and disrespect she has caused her husband and family. Now she has her...boy Will...doing her bidding. Hope she was worth it.

What I find the most upsetting is that a lot of his fans have been WAITING for him to win an Oscar. But no one is even talking about his win because, as John Leguizamo said, he tarnished it with his dumbass actions. It's one thing to stand up for your wife. It's another thing to laugh at said joke that pissed her off (which he did), go up to the person that said it, and assault him. I'm a huge fan of his but I do think he should've been escorted out. What if someone went up to him or his wife and assaulted them for something they said? They wouldn't like it so they definitely should not condone it

In the history of the Academy Awards, there aren't many black actors/entertainers who have won an Oscar. Last time I did some research, around 3,000 awards have been given and barely 30 were given to blacks. For a black man to win an Oscar is not only a crowning achievement for his career (Will) but a win for the culture. To see Will take home his first big one is amazing but no one is going to really speak on that because him slapping Chris Rock held more weight. I am all for wanting to defend his wife and being offended (though we seen him laugh and ten seconds later, WHACK) but he could have easily pulled Chris off to the side and spoke to him. Him taking to the stage, he could have hijacked the moment and spoke up for her and it wouldn't have been bad. To attempt to be macho and physical just appalled many and some lost respect for Will. This shit all ties back to his wife and the problems she caused and stirred up these last couple of years, but even so, there is no excuse to hit another person.

As a single cancer patiënt Meself i try to pass the days with as much humour possible to take the focus away from the illness.
I have 7 operations "under me belt" and countless scopies(a camera is inserted via me male part)to keep track of the way things go in the blatter/tubes to the kidneys and see how fast it grows back after surgery.
I also had countless chemo sessions and have other medication for the many side effects.
Last year i had an operation two days after me birthday as a matter of fact.
Where i'm trying to go is that humour is a welcoming factor to keep the spirit going and don't dwell on me being sick.
Every day i'm in some sort of pain me teeth starts to crumble me bones starts to hurt and i sometimes lack the energy to do grandpeppy stuff with me 3 year old granddaughter(who means the world to me)
What i'm trying to say is i clean shave me head coz I also have a little Alopecia and I turned that harmless side effect into a cosmetic advantage.
If i was sitting in the room that night and Mr Rock cracked a little "joke" on me bald head i would have also walked over to him...to give him a BIG hug or shout out for making me laugh and forget about the crap i have to deal with everyday.
I think i would be the loudest One to applaud the wee moment a world wide/populair entertainer spared for me.
But to walk over and slap another entertainer on a high profile event!?...seriously!???
The whole world is watching and we the "simple" but not stupid people who Buys the tickets for your films/shows or name it what you want event and see you the artist I see as role models have me Bubble burst coz You are offended makes me wonder how to carry meself in future...is it a free pass to punch everyOne who calls me baldy not knowing i'm not only bald but also have cancer.
I think Mr Smith single handedly destroyed the hard work of many people who fought for equality of race and took the Afro Americans where they are today.
Funny thing is that the day before the incident i watched the movie Focus (Staring Mr Smith/Ms Robbie)on Netflix coz I also have a little Sleeping disorder so i try to watch as much as comedy/light entertainment at night to ease me mind and don't just lay in bed feeling sorry for meself.
Question!!!!....why on earth do the hospitals sent Clinic Clowns to sick children and sick oldtimers if a little humour is not allowed or find offensive by a multi million dollar paid artist and his wife.
I was a fan of Me Smith and the stand up routines of Mr Rock also left lots of memorabele moments but now i totally lost all respect for the people who took the responsibility as role models with their drama.
I can't recall hearing the F word in a movie by Mr Smith...at the Oscars i heard it Twice out of his mouth.
Mr Rock on the other hand kept his cool and finished with the professionallity of years of experience.
In me humble opinion the winner that night is the Biggest Loser.
All the haters be like....See them coulered folks can't behave and maybe finds "windows" to fuel more hate and stop lots of developments we had in our pockets.
Its a Shame it happened nothing more nothing less...i dont think im going to go see the King Richard movie coz I would be too distracted by "The Slap"!
However The BIGGEST loser is Me coz i lost one of Me favo actor and faith in the Black Lives Matter movement coz probably it only goes for the benefit of a Black person when its convenient for him/her.
WOW indeed mr Rock....that slap and night threw us coloured folks way back in history(just like in the movie you played in;-)
Alopecia or not....never ever put your hand on another person coz you only make all wrongs right for the less fortunate people with shorter fues than you multi million dollar paid insecure easily offended people.
