Amazing, making a deep slash that didn't even tear her clothing, now that's next level skill. Tifa's line was different from The Last Order.
Another scene in Rebirth implies that she was cut way closer to her breasts, but the wound here shows bleeding a few inches lower, beneath her white shirt. Her main outfit in Remake/Rebirth would cover both locations either way (it's probably located just about where her black undershirt ends), but the scar should definitely be visible in one or both of her swimwear outfits. This exact cut location seems to be in a place on her body where the writers can acknowledge it happened but the designers never have to worry about actually showing it in her outfits - Schrodinger's scar if you will.
Well in canon, she was sliced half an inch deep from her left shoulder diagonally down to below her right breast.
She got a skin graft over the cut area which is why her scar isn’t highly visible but she does have an indentation where she was cut.
Yes in the real events her shirt was also cut open but Japanese age rating is extremely strict and though having it be more gruesome would stay as a PEGI 16 or TEENS here, in Japan it would at minimum have to be a CERO D.
PAL regions don’t have anything equivalent to CERO D and so would have to become an 18 which would mean that it would have to be M17+ in the US and they specifically didn’t want to make the game an 18 because of one 20 second scene.
Having it be an 18 would affect the sales more

@@chichiboypumpi yeah, Zangan left her with Doctor Oranye who didn’t have the facilities to help her so asked Shinra for help. Shinra helped send her to Corel thinking she was just a regular person and Doctor Sheiran from Corel did the surgery which reconstructed her crushed sternum.
(So yes Tifa’s chest is now metal)
Then they sent her back to Midgar where Doctor Oranye made the decision that a young girl like Tifa wouldn’t want to live with a massive slash scar and gave her a skin graft to cover it up. It did but there was always a dent left where she was cut and that’s what she shows Cloud (I think)

You know, I read in that Traces of Two Pasts novel that when he cut her it was said he crushed her bones and she needed extensive surgery, a skin graft and metallic wires on her bones forever. I was like damn...

@@S_Blitz It was not Cloud who took her to a safe location, he fainted. It was Zangan with the help from Turks. This is stated in BC and hinted at Rebirth when the doctor tells her she arrived in a Shinra helicopter wich surprised her when hearing about that
@@truebigboss play the OG, Cloud runs after Sephiroth and stabs him from behind after Tifa and Zack got sliced. Cloud then grabs Tifa and takes her to a safe location so Sephiroth can't kill her and so he can pursue Sephiroth. Zangan was the one who found her in the safe place Cloud placed her at and then got her to the doctor. Do the research kid
in the original FF7 cloud had his shinra soldier helmet on up to that point. but he didn't remember then, Also! tifa said those words as she was agonizing and unaware of who was picking her up from the floor, kinda blaming cloud for not being there to protect her as he promised in the water tower.
Actually here starts my theory of how tifas breast became so unbelievably big, Sephirot slash her chest alright... but then Zangan, Tifas martial arts sensei, after his healing spells where not helping, took her to Midgar for a esthetic surgery, so that scar wont remind her of the trauma of that day, Midgar surgeon agree to perform the reconstruction surgery for free only if they let them test her as a guinea pig for their enormous breast implants. which Zangan agree, i mean, better enormous boobs than a horrible scar he thought.

I dont get it, in crisis core reunion, tifa rejects zacks help and here in rebirth, cloud who is supposed to have zack and his own memories mixed, theres a memory of carrying tifa and hearing her recall cloud's promise? This never happened to either zack or cloud?
Yup, this is a Cloud's own memory (not Zack's). After this Cloud was stabbed by Sephiroth.

In the original game we saw all this scene play as it is here, Cloud pick her up and put her on the side like we see here and all. But cloud though she was done for after she said those words. Cloud realize that not only lost his mother and his home but also couldn't keep his promise to Tifa and that was the last straw for him.
