He's spot on with all his comments.and funny that he works for a Lexus rival but tells the truth about how much better this vehicle build is than any other...good car guy
You should be a salesman for lexus, you clearly know what you're talking about with this LX, infinities are great cars too, but overall I think Lexus just makes the interiors and reliability higher quality
I am 17, about to get my fist car, and have settled on an 04' Lexus li exactly like this. Buying it either my own money also. Found one with 100 k miles for 10k. It is almost identical to this. I am buying it for its off road capability, which I live outside of philly, so it will be good for the winters, and the luxury. My parents have a 99' lx470 in black, and it is absolutely amazing! Can't wait to drive it!
Great review, I own the same vehicle. It's been perfect. Had an 80 series Land Cruiser before the LX and this is simply more refined without losing any of it's off-road abilities.
I love the LX470, if the 2003 came out today as an all new vehicle it would still stand tall against any 2014 model. That being said, the 80 series Land Cruiser is still one of my absolute favorite vehicles ever made. It must have been tough to part ways with it.
I worked on an estate for Mary Tyler Moore in Millbrook N.Y and Ric Ocasek of the band the Cars lived on that road and drove one of these. I remember him always waving to us when he drove by and I loved this vehicle. This was in 02 or 03. Looking to purchase one this summer in good condition if available.
I was listening to the song "Shake It Up" on the way home and thought "I really miss Ric Ocasek." If you find one, just make sure to get a buyer's inspection at the Lexus dealer before you buy and enjoy the best SUV ever made!
@@everycarSeattle Hey thanks man ! I will do that . And Rick and his wife Paulina were super cool along with Mary . Thanks for your reviews and the response, I have subscribed.
I personally can't stand white cars, although this is very nice as far as styling goes. You mentioned a burgundy color earlier in the video. I LOVE burgundy. That as well as brown, black, and green. I completely agree with you when you said that this 2003 is built better than any new Lexus on the road in 2013 (well 2014 as I write this comment LOL). I currently have a Jeep Liberty that, so far, I love but I always fantasize about lux trucks like this, the Acura MDX, Lexus RX, GX and Infinti JX, FX, and QX, and wonder what it would be like to just drive them. Lexus is probably my favorite of the high end brands because they really are affordable to many people, that's because the maintenance is usually very low, just stay on top of the oil changes, brakes, tires etc, and you should get many many years of dependable driving pleasure. Another great review of a great vehicle.
I got a 2002 lx470 with 140,000 miles for $4,000. Perfect interior and besides pain job perfect condition. ( friend gave me such a good deal that's why I know it's no problems.)
+nice cars and nice houses on Seattle's Eastside hi I'm a lexus owner and in love with the company and their work on cars. do you know of they made the diamond white color for any other year??? My fiancé loves land cruisers and I've found 2006 LX 470 with just about 100,000. I haven't gone to see it yet, but the color in the pictures looks white or very similar. I might make the trip to go see it.
I really love this model. can someone who owns this car for a long term with many miles give me some info of things to watch out, common problems etc.. I might buy one
Timing belts need to be replaced throughout the years and they can be expensive. Driveshafts as the truck gets older. But overall, there really aren't any big gremlins...just make sure you get a buyer's inspection at the Lexus dealer before you buy.
It's like asking a basketball fan if they'd rather have Kareem Abdul Jabbar in his prime or Hakeem Olajuwan in his prime. Both are tied for the best ever and amazing years after most guys their age had retired.
Hi I'm looking into purchasing one for my fiance. I found 2004 in Sand Pearl, but I also found one that was a 2006 and I'm debating on which to get. Any guidance is appreciated. I like the color scheme in your video. Not sure the dealer listed the correct colors because they have it as sand pearl and the other as pearl. I had an escalade in white diamond and LOVED that color. I would love to get an Lexus SUV in this color
+bosshova23 Blizzard Pearl (Diamond White Pearl) ans Sand Dollar Pearl (Cashmere Beige) are by far the two best colors on an LX. When they were new I would have said to stay with white, but the beige has aged so gracefully that it's really a coin flip. Either way, you are going to get an SUV that by many standards is nicer than most new SUV's.
May this car and toyota land cruiser 100 2007 will be comeback ? .. i mean with in new version/to update(technology in the car such as electric car and so on) and still a big car/Ninja King. good people? support me if all of you agree with my suggestion. PLEASE.
Anyone know what aspects of the hvac can be operated if the touchscreen dies? Like can you turn the defroster on and off and still adjust the temp with the buttons even if the screen is dead?
Both are fantastic choices with legendary quality and amazing resale value, so good job either way. Someday you might take a look at the next-gen Sequoia, that might be the best Toyota/Lexus SUV of them all.
Benjamin Goulet Yes, I’ve had both. Sequoia is ok overall but the body and interior are a bit crappy, the Land Cruiser/LX is world class. Both are reliable mechanically.
It's easy enough to find out...but how can you tell from the video? A bumper might be painted for a million reasons that have nothing to do with an accident. But even still, I'm curious how you can make that determination from a video. Or if it was even painted at all?
All bumpers are slightly different colors than the medal body panels on a vehicle, even brand new ones. Plastic and metals panels take paint differently and ALWAYS have a slightly different color.

Infinity doesn't have resale value like Lexus though. Parts are expensive BUT in general Infiniti is more fun to drive than a Lexus family car

+Phillyguy1992 You have great taste and '04 is a great year. Your parents' black '99 is still one of the best trucks on the road.
C.Park98 That's wassup man!!! Hopefully you have it by now. I'm 20 and am looking into the same exact thing!! Hopefully you got it by now. GOD BLESS💯💯
@Mr. Cairo I just found an 05 for 10k lol

my dad have a 2006 lexus gs300
And now i am an expert on the LX470.... Loved the video!!
Love his enthusiasm, but his TLC/LX videos singlehandedly have been driving up the prices since this video was published... Great vid!!
Great review Joe, very informative and well put together video - I will be test driving one of these his weekend - can't wait!

That's an absolute steal Tristin...what a great buy!
I love Lexus vehicles
+Adam James You and me both Adam, especially in Diamond White Pearl...it's my all-time favorite.

toyotas last forever!!!!!
If you could do it all over, would you still take the lx over the gx470? Is the lx really that much better?
Alexander Chavez The GX looks unstable, tall and lanky compared to the LX.
Just bought one this afternoon!
I know people don't buy these for mileage with the V8 and the weight, but what kind of mileage can be expected on these?
We had a similar LandCruiser and it averaged about 13 miles per gallon all-around.
15 if you drive conservatively.
came across a 1999 lx470 with 120,000 premium wheels , clean as can possibly be for 1600 on Craigslist . after seeing this I'm buying car tomorrow
really 1600 no way
Damn, some phones are almost as expensive than that.
He purchased it from a prince in Nigeria 😂
Hello can you tell me what is the price this 2009 year Lexus?
I really love this model. can someone who owns this car for a long term with many miles give me some info of things to watch out, common problems etc.. I might buy one
Timing belts need to be replaced throughout the years and they can be expensive. Driveshafts as the truck gets older. But overall, there really aren't any big gremlins...just make sure you get a buyer's inspection at the Lexus dealer before you buy.
Touch screen and electronic suspension. The suspension can be converted to a conventional system.
Question, do you suggest LC or LX470? both 2003, I don't like lots of maintance. both have 200k miles.
It's like asking a basketball fan if they'd rather have Kareem Abdul Jabbar in his prime or Hakeem Olajuwan in his prime. Both are tied for the best ever and amazing years after most guys their age had retired.
The LX470 is cheaper used because the hard core off roaders typically go for the LC, while the LX flies under the radar.

this Lexus is a great car to buy

Ok
in cambodia these suv goes for $40k+
This SUV hold its value ...
They're going up if they're in excellent condition. Simply an amazing SUV!
how much is for it
Hi Joe, have a question, i open a 3-d roll window and have no idea how to close it back do you have any ideas, i have lexus lx470 2000
I'm not sure what a 3d roll window is Roman...is it an aftermarket feature?
May this car and toyota land cruiser 100 2007 will be comeback ? .. i mean with in new version/to update(technology in the car such as electric car and so on) and still a big car/Ninja King.

PLEASE.
I would bring the LX back in a heartbeat...it's virtually a perfect SUV.
It came back
I have 2005 GX470 and it gives king type feeling on the road
Anyone know what aspects of the hvac can be operated if the touchscreen dies? Like can you turn the defroster on and off and still adjust the temp with the buttons even if the screen is dead?
lexus lx470 only on black ...
What kept me from buying one of these was the lack of cargo area with the 3rd seat down. So I settle down with a 2002 sequoia.
Both are fantastic choices with legendary quality and amazing resale value, so good job either way. Someday you might take a look at the next-gen Sequoia, that might be the best Toyota/Lexus SUV of them all.
harmonize209 nope... land cruiser will always be the best... it is far superior to the sequoia but Toyota anything isn’t a bad purchase
Benjamin Goulet Yes, I’ve had both. Sequoia is ok overall but the body and interior are a bit crappy, the Land Cruiser/LX is world class. Both are reliable mechanically.
Yes I did the same. My only regret is that I didn't get a lower mileage Sequoia
I found a 2001 LX for 13k with 254000 miles
its had an accident thats not the original bumper
It's easy enough to find out...but how can you tell from the video? A bumper might be painted for a million reasons that have nothing to do with an accident. But even still, I'm curious how you can make that determination from a video. Or if it was even painted at all?
you can tell the paint is different but the front sensors are missing as well which is usualy the sign of an accident
+John Muqattash owned

what ever u guys say lexus is lexus
ok
car salesmen and their stories full of lies always!!!
Perhaps, but this vehicle can speak for its self. it still rivals any suv on the market today
