For the information about the 'Pearl' paint, alone, I'm subscribing!!!!!!!! That's hugely important. I've always kvelled over non-metallic paints, and everybody else thought I was silly (my objection to metallics was the different expansion coefficient between the metal and the surrounding polymer - creating a self-destructing paint - in my mind, at least). And thanks for all the other information. We were ignoring Japanese products, as long as Volvo was Swedish, and were totally oblivious to all of this, while it was happening (and for as long as we could keep our pre-Ford Volvos running). In the South, decent people did not drive cars from Third Axis Nations, and so, as long as Volvo and Saab remained Swedish-owned, Japanese cars (along with Mercedes and b'MOI and anything from Italy) were for "creeps and losers". So, thanks for the brief history! Oh! I just checked the 'Black Sapphire' paint on my LS, and it's a 'Pearl' - not a metallic!!!! I bought the car, because it's the best blue ever (nearly-black, but just blue enough to not be scummy), and because there's no clearcoat. But I was worried about what looked like metallic flakes in the paint. My final Volvo was navy, non-metallic, no clearcoat, and stayed beautiful forever. So this 'Pearl' news means I can keep the LS for decades, if I want to. As for the Levinson being the "best" - maybe if "best" means drawing blood from the ears. We can't listen to it - even with 'Base' turned all the way down, and the other boom thingie disengaged. I have a colleague whose husband arranged for her Phantom to be delivered with cheap, non-concussive "computer speakers" substituted for the hotsy-totsy speakers. The non-"good" speakers thrilled her more than the 400k+ car. "I can actually listen to music again, without my ears bleeding!"
I just bought a 2006 LX 470 in Sand Dollar pearl, single owner, no rust, with only 144k miles. And believe me I do feel like I have found the holy grail. Absolutely love this car and am already on the hunt for another one.
Thanks, Joe. I spent a great deal of time researching LX470s and LC 100s, but your review helped me solidify the purchase of a 2006 LX470. It's been great so far, and my 2 yr old son always wants to ride in the "Big Truck."
I live In Melbourne Australia and have a LX470 2003 model and will confirm this is a beautiful SUV. one of my favorite features is the ride height control. I use this ever time i hitch up my boat trailer. Using my after market camera add on I just drop the ride height to low, back in under the tow hitch and then lift back up. Easy as pie. Cons- the fuel economy is not so good. Wish I had the variable timing valves.
They are truly fantastic vehicles. We traded our LX470 for our current LX570 and it has been even better. I truly enjoy the LX suspension over the LC suspension. And the seats are noticeably more comfortable as well. Great review! Keep up the nice work on the videos!
Nice review of a beautiful truck... Big Toyota fan here, I have a 98' 4runner Limited, just clocked 165K and except for a gel-coat paint issue on the hood, a great truck, very reliable and interior components and materials have held-up nicely... I rarely off-road but enjoy the 4WD in the snow very much, very capable... Thx, Moses...
If you've seen some of my older reviews, I've often commented that the internet has actually made buyers less-savvy than pre-internet, by a lot..."if the internet actually made people smarter, they'd all be driving '98 4Runners"...in many ways, older 4Runners are equal to the LX. Thanks for taking a look Moses and have a wonderful 2019!
Got the '99 4runner, taller front springs and cup holders in the middle but not sure how much is else is really different. I see this Lexus thingy is the best car ever made, well it looks a bit fat and heavy for the mountain trails I like to drive. Anyway it's up to 246,000, toured the country with it towing a 4000 LB trailer and I doubt it will be stopping any time soon. Just be careful the radiator doesn't mix with the transmission juice as sometimes happens at high miles. Best bet is to replace rad (cheaply done) or bypass the tranny fluid to a separate cooler (also cheaply done, and helps with towing.)
Keep in mind, since the Toyota LandCruiser is mechanically identical, it is also every bit as magnificent as the Lexus - we had a LandCruiser for years and loved it!
The Fast Lane with Joe Tunney I was surprised to see this, I just posted a review of my 2006 lx470 as well. I love it, but I feel you left out a lot of the negatives about it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great car, but leaving off the negatives can cause someone to be blind sided when they buy it.
I've been really lucky with my Lexus/Toyota SUV's over the many years I've had them...so I might be a little bit too much sunshine when it comes to these guys.
My first car was a 1991 Lexus ES250. Got it with 164K miles. The previous owners didn't take good care of it, but even then, it was easy to notice the quality. That engine never failed. Everything else was getting worn out but the engine and transmission were still super smooth at like 250K miles. My sister wrecked it years after I had owned it and gave it to my dad. He managed to find a buyer and tells me he's still seen it being driven around town.
All you need to know about cars is buy an older Lexus/Toyota or Acura/Honda after getting a buyer's inspection at the respective dealer every single time and you'll save so much money over people who buy new cars that all other things being equal, you will literally have a significantly more interesting life than them. If people put pen to paper on how much it costs after taxes are taken out of your paycheck, after interest payments on a car loan and after depreciation when you sell it/trade it in vs. just buying an older Lexus and driving it 'til the wheels fall off, the difference is hundreds of thousands of dollars and years of your life where instead of working you could have traveled the world
Well well well, the maintenance shouldn't be that basic and you should follow the toyota manual and for example at least lubricate the wheel bearings at least once a 10000 miles, and also carefully replace the suspension fluid, thats a must do if you own one of these beauties
@@everycarSeattle I hope you're right! I bought an '06 w/ 203K miles a few days ago from Texas. I'm having it shipped up to me as we speak. It was one owner and it was serviced at the same lexus dealer from day one so it had the maintenance records on lexus.com. From what i could tell on facetime, the michelins on it were brand new and that's concerning because who buys $1,000 worth of rubber then sells it? I'm still worried about longevity but we'll see!
the best vehicle on the planet! I've owned 3 470's a 2001, 2005, and now have a cypress Pearl 2006 I've had since you did this review I fall more and more in love with it every day.
Thanks for the great review, Joe. I was on the fence last month about getting one of these, but you made my decision easier! I jumped on an '06 in Diamond White Pearl with 150k in great condition - should be an excellent family vehicle for years to come!
What a great find John! It's neat that they have such amazing resale value but the best part comes from simply being able to drive them everyday. I appreciate you taking a look...have a great time with your Lexus!
Hey, what do you have to say 1 year later? I bought an '06 w/ 203K miles on it as my family cruiser. I hope I don't have to spend a ton! It's being shipped as I write this.
I just purchased a 2014 LX570 with 42000 miles. I was originally was going to buy a new 2019 4Runner but decided on the Lexus mainly for the extra room. My wife thinks I was crazy, but I think we made the correct decision, especially with four boys. They were priced within $1100 of each other and as far as dependability, I can still see me using this vehicle for the next 10+ years.
In the end, both SUV's will cost about the same amount of money since each has incredible resale value...the Lexus should do a bit better since you bought it used but will cost more to maintain. However, the ownership experience will be vastly more memorable in the Lexus. The 4Runner is amazing but the Lexus is a couple of orders of magnitude more luxurious.
First time visiting your channel and found you via LX470 search. Nice general overview of a fine and wildly capable vehicle. Now I'll have to go back and find your LC videos too!
Great video! Long time Toyota owner here with 2 in the driveway. I just came across a 1 owner, Texas owned, 2006 LX with just over 200k and countless service records at a Toyota or Lexus dealer. Absolutely pristine. I just may have to go get it!
They really are the absolute best of the best... I just added my most comprehensive video yet of my top 25 sports cars of all time...take a look: ua-cam.com/video/bp7ISIkSMuk/v-deo.html
I got a 2003 lx470 when I was 18 years old a hand me down from my mom with 34k, still runs like it’s brand new now with 78k replaced the ahc but aside from that no issues. Currently on my second lease of a 2018 570 and all I can say is they don’t make them like they used to.
Awesome introduction. You need to do more videos like this for Japanese cars. Not sure why most of your other videos are set to music, you need to approach your channel just like this video. You're more informative than Doug DeMuro even.
I'm back with an update. Just bought a 2013 Lexus GX460 and I couldn't be happier. Odometer just rolled past 90K and it runs and looks like new. Man oh Man! Puts everything I've ever owned to shame and I've had some great ones. Got you beat on the estimated MPG, 15 City 20 Highway. LMAO
GX460's are really great...really great. 90k miles is nothing with good service. I wouldn't be surprised if you compared a brand new $70,000 SUV with your 2013 GX, that your GX strating at 90k would still last longer and be every bit as capable as even an expensive new SUV.
I opted for the larger 2006 Toyota Sequoia with the same VVT-i engine. Great products Toyota/Lexus have created! I got my Sequoia in the pearl paint as well because of the beauty and quality.
I have this 06 LX470 hand me down from my mother w/ 126K miles on it, sat for awhile and I am restoring it back to road worthy. I did most of the maintenance myself, it is an expensive car to maintain if your not a mechanic but you are right it is a very nice truck to own. Nice vid.
Bought a 2005 gx470 8-2022 189000 miles and it looks and runs like a brand new off the lot luxury car!! It is unbelievable! The rubber is still like new. Around the windows and doors everywhere is like new. It is almost pristine underneath. I will be buying and reselling them up north for the near future. Houston has no rusty vehicles so they are valuable up north!
Awesome video I converted my dad to toyota cause of my love for them toyota gives you the freedom to actually drive carefree and you can live life with yota without worrying about repairs.
I love them for 2 reasons Eric: #1: They have a build quality that no longer exists in the industry. #2: They have resale value so strong that if you buy it right and keep it a couple of years, it is literally free...which is crazy
Auto journalist. Been part of the industry for a while and he has a channel where he does reviews similar to this video review. Also west’s shit and shorts and often films in some parking lot of alley. That’s why i and many others thought it was one of his reviews.
Interesting...a couple of people have sent me links comparing me to him and asking what I can do to get as many views as him...dude might have a plain way of doing things but he pulls down views like he's god in heaven. - Thank you so much for taking a look and sharing your thoughts ddavid, I appreciate it!
Nicely presented video with accurate information. We own two of these and they have been flawless with the exception of a bad alternator on one last year (11 years old).
Excellent review : I am a car dealer down in Miami , I have been looking for this specific car (color is not a issue but 2006 it is ) for over 3 years in auctions . Yes 3 YEARS. There have only been 2 that I have seen and both had rebuilt title with moderate damages , both sold for higher then my new 2016 Expedition Limited . It’s unbelievable how insane resale value for these suvs are . It’s just shows you the quality and craftsmanship of Toyota . I am still searching for This baby and one day I should own one just refuse to pay full retail for the car being a car dealer 😂😂😂😂
Cheetah, we always imagined in rainy Seattle that selling cars in Miami would be a blast...and I'm sure it is. You'll need a bit of luck finding that LX at auction, they bring insane money even with insane miles. On the West Coast the problem is that they get shipped overseas where they are far more expensive, while on your coast there are simply so few available. Your likeliest spots finding them at auction are Las Vegas, Riverside and Bay Cities, but get ready to get that checkbook out. Have a fantastic weekend and thanks for taking a look!
Just picked up an 06 LX 470. Mine has the heads up display w night vision. What a great driving truck! Super cool, plenty of power, and Classic good looks. What a well designed vehicle! I am so impressed at the quality that went into these vehicles.
The principal at my school has this identical car. An 06 pearl white LX470, with all the options. It even has led illuminated running boards! I personally have a dark metallic green 2005 Toyota Land Cruiser that we bought brand new in 04. Fully loaded with five spoke chrome rims, wood trim (optional In Toyota’s, standard in Lexus) front hood wind guard, rear spoiler, etc I love my Land Cruiser to bits, I’ve got over 272,000 miles on it. What’s more, my friend has a pearl white 1998 LX470 that he’s had since new.
272,000 and probably still drives great...in fact, it's still worth great money. Can you think of a single SUV, a single vehicle of any kind for that matter, ever, that was worth real money with 272,000 miles?
I love your content dude. Whereever you are enjoy the weather here in Minnesota we are in a freezers. I can’t believe you posted this 7 hours ago 🤦🏽♂️.
I appreciate it ShowMeQuick...out here in Hawaii it's just another pretty day. Thank you so much for taking a look at the videos and happy holidays to you out in Minnesota!
We found a 2006 Lexus LX470 with black paint and only 92000 miles for only $1500. Supposedly one owner and never in a accident,in excellent condition. Sounds too good to be true, but we will buy it today if it checks out.
The Fast Lane with Joe Tunney It was a scam. Any car sale not originating from ebaymotors, isn’t covered by their guarantee. This fraud sent an invoice, proclaiming eBay motors protection which wasn’t true. The whole story was related online, and has bilked the unaware.
I'm definitely looking to get one of these. This era of Lexus I find it one of the most classiest of vehicles in it's class. Though it may be subjective, I would take an Ls430 or this Lx470 over a BMW, Mercedes, Audi and even Infiniti and Acura because of its reliability-class ratio. Infiniti is sportier to me, and Acura seems to be more on the affordable side so some materials I wouldn't compare to Lexus and then the German companies are just a financial nightmare when you want to keep up and fix issues that previous owners neglected. This would seem like the perfect family mobile.
They really are the best SUV ever made and a case could be made that the LS is the best sedan ever made. I wish Acura would have attempted a real luxury platform since they did such an incredible job with the NSX, but they just never could embrace the idea.
Bro, I feel like we have the exact same taste in cars. I'm very grateful to God that I own a 2004 LS430, 2007 LX470 and a 2007 Infiniti G35S sedan with the 6MT. I'm the only one in my neighborhood that has these "old" cars on their driveway but I'd rather have it this way than any other fancy Tesla or MDX that everyone's dying to grab.
Own a silver 2006 with 124000 miles and I love it. Not to techy with all the stuff that new cars come with, can be serviced at a Toyota dealership, comfortable on long trips...thank you for sharing your review...happy holidays!
@@Leino26 I've seen these sell at auction with 225000 miles for 14000...and I've seen one in service at 325000 miles, but I've always wondered just how far they can reasonably go. Forever?
Thank you Joe for your detailed reviews. Now I can understand why our 2013 Lexus GX460 is so loud and today I went out to test the 2015 lx570 and not much quieter perhaps the best Lexus LX to compliment my 04 LS430 is the 2006 LX470
@@everycarSeattle perhaps, for the few that survive. Theyre still very present in SoCal. Iwned mine 11 years, should have kept it but... women! Very unique vehicles, greatest interior cargo volume EVER for the minivan class.
The 3rd row is not stowed correctly, you need to slide the seats to the rear of the truck and they will fold move vertically, there are little rubber bumpers that touch the rear plastic pillars...
Just picked up a super clean 2000 LX470 (Still has the plastic sealing on the front carpet under the floor matts!!) 300K on the odo. Cant wait to drive for another 200K+. The Nakamichi sound system is unreal.
Hey, how does the 06 LX 470 compare to the 08 ( Newer body style) LX 570, Im trying to decide between the two different body styles. Is the 08 model an upgrade in every way or not?The 08's and up are really expensive, I havent found an 08 for less than 24k.
I love '08's and they really are better in every single way than the '06 models. Except in ultimate build quality. NOTHING compares to the previous generation in the entire auto industry, it is the best built vehicle ever made. The '08 is great and really well built but 300,000 miles becomes an anomaly versus a certainty.
Today is Day #1 for my new channel "Back to the Starting Line with Joe Tunney" which features a lot of sales and career motivation for high-income sales executives - The Fast Lane with Joe Tunney will still be dedicated to cars. 2008 and 2009 are a different body style...they're exceptionally nice but not as well built and much more expensive. The 2007 is identical to the 2006 but is rarer and slightly more expensive, making the 2006 the better buy.
Awesome review! Toyota Land Cruisers/LX 470’s were designed by Toyota to last a minimum of 25 years. Beefed up suspension, differentials, drive line, etc. Bulletproof.
Thanks Dave, I appreciate the nice words. You nailed it on the head - "...designed by Toyota to last a minimum of 25 years." Thanks for taking a look and happy holidays!
Very interesting to see under the hood and not see PLASTIC. Would love one of these if it got better fuel economy. Decided on an 09 RX350 this week that drives like brand new to go with the ISF and 08 Rav4. Love the RX over all of them pound for pound yet the ISF is just a total different animal.
1990 Lexus LS400's are going to be collector cars someday...but sadly they don't go offroad. 1993 LandCruisers (although a completely different truck than the 1998 and newer models) are an amazing SUV in their own right. They aren't as powerful but they are extremely well built and also have amazing resale value.
Joe. Loved your excellent presentation. Question: I am in china for the past six years and looking for an SUV/off-road vehicle when I return. I have a 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero that I bought new in China and love it. Really solid and great off road but underpowered. I can’t bring it back to the US but when looking at your walk around of the LX 470, looks so identical in so many respects that it seems to be a more luxury version of my Pajero. Have any thoughts on that. Do you think that Toyota made to Panera? Thanks again and I’ll be burning up the internet searching for the holy grail
The Pajero is really an awesome SUV and there are a couple of them here in Hawaii - not sure how but I see them every now and then. The Lexus is so much older that it doesn't have the eye-catching modern vibe of a newer Pajero, especially on the interior. That being said, the Lexus is an absolute timeless classic with build quality on another lever from Mitsubishi, despite Mitsubishi having excellent build quality. As a result, all Landcruisers and LX's are now widely considered collectible, yet still can be driven everyday. I can't say enough good things about them - other than that they're spendy, but worth it. p.s., I just added my most comprehensive video yet of my top 25 sports cars of all time...take a look: ua-cam.com/video/bp7ISIkSMuk/v-deo.html
My personal opinion the Prado 120 (GX 470) is the best land cruiser. I almost bought the Lexus land cruiser, the lx 470. Love the styling, but there's no denying the size of the gx makes it more capable off and on road.
This truck looks neat. I am in the market for a 4wd vehicle and was set on an FJ cruiser versus Hummer H3. This could be a good third option. Does anyone have any experience with this vehicle that they can share? Any reasons this may come first on the list? Thanks.
Toyota Land Cruiser SAHARA have a ice tray thing in the front center console . The Lexus LX470 came out with a soft serve ice cream thing in Australia. And now the 2019 SAHARA has Nespresso Breville Inissia Capsule Machine .
One feature that would be great on any full size SUV or minivan would be a portable shower wand to clean cleats, golf shoes, sandy flip-flops, etc. If Honda can make a vacuum, I'm certain Toyota can make a shower wand.
Sir, great review, thank you. I just bought a 2001 LX470 but do not have an owner’s manual. Do you know what the button next to the gear shifter does? There are actually two button together, one says power, the other says second..... l have no idea what they do.....
Good review, with a lesson of cars history! That's my dream suv. I really like diamond pearl on any car. Do you know if this particular lexus diamon pearl come with black interior. It's hard to find, I quess?
They never made that combo...Infiniti had a similar color and customers asked for it all the time with black interior, to no avail. I appreciate you taking a look maniac, have a very happy holiday!
For some reason the same year land cruiser usually sells for more money? I have owned both toyota and lexus and the only issues were the door/window mechanisms. Otherwise, just routine maintenance. I hope to purchase an 06/07 LC - LX470 soon. Thanks for your informative video.
It's not a bad decision at all...even at auction, in any kind of condition and with those miles, that Lexus will still bring top dollar. No joke, it really is the best SUV ever made.
In India, the 1998 model is going for 30000 Dollars...and I saw a guy buying a 2006 lx470 for 50,000....no joke...he could have brought a 2018 land cruiser...god bless india
That shithead Scotty Kilmer has a video advising against this beautiful truck. Claims they didn't make and sell many of them so nobody should ever buy one used. He mentions the suspension being too expensive to fix. The Land Cruiser and LX are absolute tanks built to last a long long long time without any work needed at all! I've seen ones with 180k still going for 22 grand. You're not gonna get that that kind of value with your old Celica just saying
I don't know much about Scotty Kilmer so I can't say anything, but anyone even remotely connected to the car business knows that the Lexus LX and Toyota LandCruiser are special in a way no other SUV compares with.
@@everycarSeattle hes a mechanic on UA-cam who thinks he knows absolutely everything and basically tells everyone to not buy any car except old Corollas with 200k. Look him up you'll see all the negative opinions of him for how lost delusional he really is. But yeah I definitely agree that those trucks are very special and I personally think all the Toyota and Lexus products from 2004-2008 are some of the best vehicles ever
@@ecymbura31 There's no substitute for selling older cars because people tell you what they are willing to spend their money on, and just from the excitement that is generated by a particular car - you know the difference between what the internet says is good or bad and the opinions of real people spending their hard-earned money.
@@everycarSeattle yeah this Scotty guy thinks everyone is on a budget and can't afford anything nice. Not everyone wants to drive a 25 year old car. I'd love a Land Cruier or LX

Picked up the exact truck a few months ago. So far no complaints. Love it. One quick question, if you know, what is the wheel & tire size? P.S.Excellent Review
Thank you so much Judah, I appreciate your nice words. The 2006 comes with P285/60-18 tires therefore it has 18" wheels. Costco is always a smart choice when buying higher end tires. Thank you for taking a look and happy holidays to you!
Hi all Im in Western Australia and found one2006 model 257000 km and 29500 aud looks great and one owner thinkig to get it. Just main issue Whay the Toyota decided not supply the Australian market with vvti engine Litle bit sad but win for US market for sure. BTW. great rewiev
Nice! I can only afford Breitlings that have been around a while, but I love them. I have a B1 and a Colt a17380 with a white dial. Hopefully another in the future!
Not the best. But almost.. 2006 was the introduction of VVTi for the 2uzfe engine. A 2000 is still a great car. These are better than the LandCruiser Sahara and are cheaper.
Hey Shawn, we had a 2000 and LOVED it. JS is right about the better motor starting in 2005...better lots of things in fact starting in 2003. However, the 2000 is awesome for its own reasons and if you find a nice one for a reasonable price that passes a buyer's inspection at the Toyota dealer before you buy - they are actually borderline collectible already
2000 is a great truck, even better if you don't have the onboard gps. I honestly don't see or feel much difference between the engine or transmission upgrades. The higher horsepower is at the top if the rpm range and the more important torque stayed the same. When hauling a load, pulling a trailer or driving off road the low end torque is what you want and feel. Besides most people don't hit the higher rpms in these trucks. The 5 speed tranny does get you about 1 mpg average better than the 4 speed.
Virtually zero rust issues...absolutely unbelievable build quality - that being said, West Coast is the Best Coast if you are looking for something to last forever

These are sadly not available in UK. Non available on sale as used car. Hesitate to import as the parts of service might not be exactly same as land cruiser
There are differences between the LX and the Cruiser...however, the LandCruiser is also pretty amazing...even older LandCruisers are not just valuable but appreciating.
2005's still have the 235hp engine, whereas 2006 has the 275 horsepower VVTi engine. 2007 is identical to the 2006 but is rarer and tends to cost more...which gives the advantage (in my humble opinion) to the 2006

Bunny, that is my single favorite reply of all time. You are amazing!

You have great taste abdainawi, those are 3 of the best sport utilities ever made.
Wow. I just bought a 2004 gx470 Friday from a one owner couple. She cried when he handed me the keys
I just bought a 2006 LX 470 in Sand Dollar pearl, single owner, no rust, with only 144k miles. And believe me I do feel like I have found the holy grail. Absolutely love this car and am already on the hunt for another one.
i have the exact same one, and mine is pearl.
Thanks, Joe. I spent a great deal of time researching LX470s and LC 100s, but your review helped me solidify the purchase of a 2006 LX470. It's been great so far, and my 2 yr old son always wants to ride in the "Big Truck."
That's awesome Albert, you bought a really special SUV. Thank you so much for taking a look and happy holidays to you and your family!
Joe, you're one of the best presenters out there, really enjoy your videos!
You made my day T Cooper. Thanks you so much for the kind words and Happy Holidays to you and your family!
The Fast Lane with Joe Tunney great review, just wondering what car do you drive?
Big Toyota fan here, I have a 98' 4runner Limited, just clocked 165K and except for
a gel-coat paint issue on the hood, a great truck, very reliable and interior components and materials have held-up
nicely...
Is it an interference engine ?
Le Chat Botté yes
Was a locking rear differential an option or standard or none at all?
If people put pen to paper on how much it costs after taxes are taken out of your paycheck, after interest payments on a car loan and after depreciation when you sell it/trade it in vs. just buying an older Lexus and driving it 'til the wheels fall off, the difference is hundreds of thousands of dollars and years of your life where instead of working you could have traveled the world
I bought myself a 04 in black 2 weeks ago and I haven't stopped smiling the entire time
I have an 04 GX 470 black.. wonder if the paint is pearl?
@@randy1982777 It might be idk
These trucks will last 500k miles easily with basic maintenance.
You nailed it TJ...that's why they're worth so much even with relatively high miles.
I wish it had a timing chain instead of a timing belt. One of those break it all over.
Well well well, the maintenance shouldn't be that basic and you should follow the toyota manual and for example at least lubricate the wheel bearings at least once a 10000 miles, and also carefully replace the suspension fluid, thats a must do if you own one of these beauties
Truth! 600-800k even
@@everycarSeattle I hope you're right!
@@brettshevik9675 how is it one year later?
I'm getting a 2003 lx 470 in a couple of days, 150k miles(passed down from family) and I can't wait.
You have an awesome family. Take car of that beauty and a) it will last another 150k and b) will still be worth good money.
The best kind..in the family
Thanks Lux, I appreciate you taking a look. Have a wonderful holiday!
Great video! Long time Toyota owner here with 2 in the driveway. I just came across a 1 owner, Texas owned, 2006 LX with just over 200k and countless service records at a Toyota or Lexus dealer. Absolutely pristine. I just may have to go get it!

I got a 2003 lx470 when I was 18 years old a hand me down from my mom with 34k, still runs like it’s brand new now with 78k replaced the ahc but aside from that no issues. Currently on my second lease of a 2018 570 and all I can say is they don’t make them like they used to.
You literally have the coolest mom who ever lived.
I cannot wait to find MY 2006 white pearl V8 470!! You have made me want this vehicle even more Joe!! 😁
I just love those dang Sequoia's...especially with the pearl paint. You have AWESOME taste Lucas!

"live life without worrying about repairs," that should be Toyota's catchphrase.
I enjoy your enthusiasm for this truck
I love them for 2 reasons Eric: #1: They have a build quality that no longer exists in the industry. #2: They have resale value so strong that if you buy it right and keep it a couple of years, it is literally free...which is crazy

Excellent review :
I am a car dealer down in Miami , I have been looking for this specific car (color is not a issue but 2006 it is ) for over 3 years in auctions .
Great review. What would be the cost to replace the windshield with the HUD feature? Also, why 2006 and not 2007? . Thank you.

Sounds way too good to be true, but I'd be bummed if I didn't check it out and missed out on something good
The Fast Lane with Joe Tunney It was a scam.

That 3rd row seating configuration is right out of the Toyota Previa (1991-1997). Heavy to lift but quite handy.

The 3rd row is not stowed correctly, you need to slide the seats to the rear of the truck and they will fold move vertically, there are little rubber bumpers that touch the rear plastic pillars...

2008 and 2009 are a different body style...they're exceptionally nice but not as well built and much more expensive. The 2007 is identical to the 2006 but is rarer and slightly more expensive, making the 2006 the better buy.

So which is better to buy1990 Lexus or 2006 Lexus you got me confuse now I have 1993 land cruiser vxr please tell me the difference
Hi Joe, quick question, why is the 2006 so valuable? 2007 was the last model year of the 100 series.
2006 and 2007's are equally valuable...in fact, all LX470's are valuable, but 2007's are seldom seen since they only sold 2469 of them.
What about the 2008 and 2009s

Best SUV ever made. She sold it to one of my other co-workers who didn't like it at first and now can't imagine parting with it forever.
What is the difference between cygnus and luxus 470?
"Power" changes the shift points to maximize acceleration. "2nd" starts the LX off in 2nd gear to avoid tire spin in low-traction situations.

@@ecymbura31 A great was to experience LandCruiser/LX class without breaking the bank is simply find the nicest 1998 Toyota 4Runner and enjoy virtually 100% resale value and some memorable miles along the way.
Hi I would like to buy one...what will be price now?
Picked up the exact truck a few months ago. So far no complaints. Love it. One quick question, if you know, what is the wheel & tire size? P.S.Excellent Review
Thank you so much Judah, I appreciate your nice words. The 2006 comes with P285/60-18 tires therefore it has 18" wheels. Costco is always a smart choice when buying higher end tires. Thank you for taking a look and happy holidays to you!
Lovely review. Thank you.
What about the 2005s? How are they?
Are parts very expensive and hard to find? I heard land cruiser 100 series side mirrors were about 800$.
Joe, love your content, but brutha your in Hawaii, get us a tasty scenic location next go round! LOL
Excellent video, very informative. Thank you :)
Thanks for taking a look Dan, i appreciate it!
i have a 2006 100 series sahara with the 1hdfte turbo diesel engine it is by far the best landcruiser ive owned
Amezing car love this one looking for one like this but hard to find it I had ls 430 and now I have Gs 300 very good cars free headache 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi all Im in Western Australia and found one2006 model 257000 km and
29500 aud looks great and one owner thinkig to get it. Just main issue Whay the Toyota decided not supply the Australian market with vvti engine
Litle bit sad but win for US market for sure. BTW. great rewiev
4:40, that's got to be a Breitling on your wrist, am I right? The slanted links and screw down bezel. So you have great taste in vehicles and watches!
I've only worn 2 kinds of watches over the past 10 years, Breitling (3) and Panerai (2) - I'm a very big fan of both!
Nice! I can only afford Breitlings that have been around a while, but I love them. I have a B1 and a Colt a17380 with a white dial. Hopefully another in the future!
Check out Heritage Auctions at ha.com...they have a huge watch auction next month that will blow your mind...several watches will go for over $100,000
sports sedan equivalent would be a ISF, even at high milage is a great buy
Hey Joe, couldn’t find an ‘06, but I found a 2000 with 100k on it!!! Am I still in the best ever category?
How are these on rust? Should I avoid buying one from up north?
Virtually zero rust issues...absolutely unbelievable build quality - that being said, West Coast is the Best Coast if you are looking for something to last forever
@@everycarSeattle thanks, looking to track one down soon
@@matthewkylelewis I hope you find a really nice one!

Great review, but when you say MY 2006 is the "Holy Grail", what you really mean is the refresh for MY 2005-2007, yes?
2005's still have the 235hp engine, whereas 2006 has the 275 horsepower VVTi engine. 2007 is identical to the 2006 but is rarer and tends to cost more...which gives the advantage (in my humble opinion) to the 2006
@@everycarSeattle Ah thanks, makes sense
