I really like those "critically reviewing my knits" videos. So much to be learned! And finding your best colours and being super confident wearing them is such a great feeling! Doesn't mean you can't wear other colours but I find my "best colours" just make me feel extra good! 😊
Exactly! Definitely still need neutrals in my wardrobe but it's nice having a few colourful pieces that make you feel amazing
YES Monday Sweater! I was totally thinking that you look gorgeous and so alive in warmer colors, and I really hope that you continue to make things in your true autumn palette! It's absolutely stunning on you.
Thank you Leigh! I definitely plan to use more of my colours going forward
Beautiful sweaters! The rust and the aubergine colours makes you shine. Like the review podcast.
Thanks so much! 🤗
What a lovely and useful podcast. I really appreciate it. The colours are wonderful for you.
Thank you 🥰
Great topic. You look amazing in the aubergine - makes me want to get my colors done!
All the pieces you have knitted is beautiful in their own way😊 But the rust Monday Sweater was the one that I think complemented you the most❤
🥰
Love this series idea and seeing you look back at your old pieces!! :) I think we knitters really get wrapped up with next WIP that we forget to look and review our past knits! Keep up the amazing content Sheri! :) ❤
Thanks so much Mary-Ann! 🩷
I like that you reviewed your knits, I feel that once you learn more about how the yarn subs you make will affect the garments you make and their fit you will end up with garments you are happier with.
Definitely. It’s a learning curve as there are so many types of yarns but I’m slowly getting better at it.
Love this kind of video. Would love to see some different ways that you style each piece!
Good idea! I thought about it for this one but got a bit lazy. I am going to try to film more of my outfits as I wear them so I can include more b-roll in the future. Let's see if I remember 😉
I made a Salty Days sweater with Knitting for Olive 2 strands merino and one strand mohair. It turned out perfect and it’s so comfy and I love it so much!! I hope you’ll make a new one!!! 🥰🥰
Oh my gosh your Sunday Sweater Autumn Colour is Gorgeous on you!! You sparkle in it! I think you should sell your Salty Day sweater, colour is not in your Autumn season, and it’s too small. Loved the podcast! Thanks
🥰
Good idea about selling the salty days. Someone also suggested gifting to a younger niece or something which is also a good idea.
Loved watching this episode
Colors are perfect!
Thank you. Great episode ❤
Very informative episode ! Thanks
Love this episode! I’m also knitting a Cardi and found your channel this way
Thanks for watching! Good luck with the cardigan
I really like reviews of yearn and patterns! Thanks!!
Thank you!
Great episode! I love to see how knits start to work with your wardrobe. I knit the Salty Day sweater and I ended up semi felting it. So yours is 100% better than mine. I don't even think I can frog it. :(
That's a shame about your salty days!
I am really glad you shared these insights. Thank you. I knit the salty days sweater as I loved the texture but I ignored my usual style and knit it oversized as described in pattern. I hate it 😂. I am broad shouldered and busty so it just looks awful on me and I was tempted to just knit 2-3 sizes smaller but looking at how weird it fits if made more fitted im reconsidering.
Maybe it's just a sweater that isn't made for some of us?? 😂 Sorry you also didn't have the best experience
Thank you for being so honest talking about your Salty Days Sweater. I loved this design from the moment I first saw it and I actually bought the pattern and already started it one time, then realised I choose the wrong yarn and frogged. I still want to make this piece so much so I'm trying again: I bought some new yarn, Drops Lima that I saw other people using for it, and after the summer's over I'm all ready to give it another go. Thanks to your review now I know I have to be mindful about choosing a size with an oversized fit and pay attention to the collar too. Thank you again!❤
Good luck when you knit it! It's a beautiful pattern if you get the gauge right 😂
I love this type of video! I’m very much a “product” knitter, so I appreciate your analysis of each garment and how it’s working in your wardrobe. Now I’m tempted to add some new projects to my queue!
Glad you liked it! Which ones do you think you would make for yourself now?
@@Goodknits_ I’ve been debating the gallant sweater for a few months, and now I’m definitely adding it to my lineup! I’m also very interested in the Monday sweater and the Cardi jumper. Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to attempt cardigan #4 - it’s stunning!
Don't give up on the Salty Days Sweater! I finished mine last August and I've worn it often. I used a fine merino DK from my stash along with Rowan Kid Silk Haze and got tension, it is really so soft and cosy. I love it! 😊
Glad yours turned out! I think the only way I can make mine work is by re-knitting the whole thing
So useful this video, thank you. I love the reversible cardigan, it has a very Sezane style feel. And the aubergine Monday sweater looks absolutely stunning on you!
I was browsing Ravelry and found out that you have also knit a sweater on my favourites list: the CHLOE Pullover. Am very curious about your thoughts on that one. ❤
I was part of the test knit for that one and I think she's since updated the pattern to give a few additional sleeve options which I think would help as I don't love the pleated sleeve mine has. I really love the look of the CHLOE overall but I struggle to wear it because with the mohair on the yoke I need to wear a strapless bra which I find uncomfortable. Other than that I really love the fit and colour of it (that I chose).
Your sweaters are lovely. I really like the No 4 cardigan on you. I think I may make one....
I think you should!
I knit Salty days and loved the process. It’s too hot to wear indoors even in Canada. I always knit the sweater necks below my collar bone no matter what the pattern calls for. That’s what makes the sweater one of a kind
That's a great tip about the collarbone. Thank you for that!
I'm looking forward to this video series! Regarding the Salty Days sweater, though - before redoing the collar or frogging the whole project, have you tried purposefully wet blocking it aggressively? If you let it soak for extra time and then really stretch and pin it to the measurements you're looking for when blocking it out, I think that would solve the fit issues you're describing. The rustic yarn should be pretty stretchy, and the lace panels look they should be more open, anyway.
Funny you say this because I literally made this same comment in my podcast I filmed today! I think I am going to put it aside for the season and then in the Fall I will do a full wet block and see if it helps. I used the drain and spin on this so I think that is definitely part of the issue as to why I didn't get as much stretch out of it.
I had the exact same issues with the Salty Days Sweater. I'm starting to wonder if it's actually a pattern issue because I've noticed it in other FOs on ravelry. I wouldn't feel to hard about that one, it's probably not all you. I love your Monday Sweater! I may have to do that one this year.
I am a pattern maker by trade. The way to fix your problem with your cardi jumper neck opening is, to make the back neck smaller. If you can somehow hold the back neck in by another 1" you'll fix your problem.
I think crocheting or sewing an extra "seam" along the inside of the back neck could be the trick to do this!
Thanks both for the advice!
I like my Cardi jumper and it's my second most worn knit this season but I never wear it reversed because the neckline is too high. Otherwise I highly recommend it!
very informative video and your apartment looks so good as well couldn't help but notice it's so well decorated 😁
it would be so amazing if you would talk a bit about the yarn material (wool, alpaca, silk etc.) and how it affected the wear and the fit 🙂✨
Will add to the list for the next edition! Great idea
Lovely review. I enjoyed going through them with you and learning some about your colors. And the more autumn colors indeed make you more you :) But they all look too small - so maybe a size variation may be something to contemplate on. Look forward to the next review :)
Thanks for watching! I am quite happy with the body ease of nearly all but the salty days, but I think what makes them look too small sometimes is my sleeve length. I am definitely a small based on bust circumference
I don't think they look small in general. The aubergine one is cropped so it could seem short and bracelet length sleeves may seem too small if you prefer full length sleeves. I think. 🤷♀️ And the brioche cardigan is even quite loose fit, right? :) for me the salty days is the only one that looks too small like you said but the gauge explains it all.
For the Cardi you mentioned that you like the ease but not how the sweater’s neckline feels too open. One thing you can do, if you are adventurous, is to cast on to a smaller size and then add additional stitches when joining under the arm to get you up towards or to the next size up. Then you can have a sweater that fits your frame with the ease you want in the bust.
That's a great tip!
This is very interesting, we are always looking for that kind of information, is it comfortable, do you wear it, how does the wool feel? Holds up well? I just love your rust sweater and the aubergine one, they really suit you well 😍
Glad you enjoyed!
I like pure wool sweaters and mohair
Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts! It's really helpful when choosing a pattern and yarn, to know how it worked out for somebody else 🤍
Glad it was helpful!
You cld fix the off the shoulder and rolling cord with some fine sewing elastic inserted in the cord which will tighten it up a smidge!
Good idea!
I have a question: I know you are concerned with the pilling on the last sweater, and you are right it is the perfect color for you and it is pilling. However, you wear it multiple times a week, so it will show more wear than a piece that you wear once a week or once a month. I would enjoy the h out of that beauty, and shave her when she gets too pilley. So pretty!
So true! De-pilling is easy enough so better to wear it and enjoy
i would gift the salty days sweater maybe to a young niece of daughter of a friend! That way it will probably be an oversized sweater for them
Great suggestion! I hate frogging things so this could be a good option
Hi, cant you add small ribbons or something to the vert knit cardigan to fix to your brastraps?
or an elastic from shoulder to shoulder trough the Icord?
Excellent idea for the bra straps.
Not knitting related, but I love the style of your home, very scandi chic.
@SuperLogandog thank you! I love how calm it feels
I think your Salty Days Sweater looks good and the fit is also good on you. You are too hard on yourself. Maybe the yarn choice is the real problem. I also have long arms so remember with every patter n to check your sleeve length
I admit I can definitely be too hard on myself 🙂 In this case though I do think it's too small for me (at least for the look I wanted).
