GoPro 5/6/7 : How to Connect to External Monitor (TV, Computer Monitor, Projector)

- I show you how to connect / mirror a GoPro Hero 5, 6, or 7 Black to an external monitor (TV, Computer monitor, or projector) as long as they have a HDMI port. We will be connecting these devices using a HDMI to Micro HDMI cable (amzn.to/2vNexc0). We have three options to view onto an external monitor (Monitor, Media, or Live View) which is located under input/output-Hdmi output within the settings of the GoPro.
Note that a GoPro Hero 7 white or silver or even the GoPro Hero 8 Black we will not be able to use this cable cause they do not have a Micro HDMI port!

This week I pulled an old GoPro 4 Black off the shelf, the batteries all worked, and it happily hooked up to my monitor with the micro HDMI cable. The only problem I was what Microcenter charged me for the cables... ;-)
If the HDMI out is set to “Live”, can you still change the FOV of the output signal through video settings?
To get rid of the lag in movement turn stability off. Also if you get sound and no picture then you need a better HDMI cord I figured that one out. Works great now

@@RubberSideDown2 ya I don’t think usbc from GoPro supports the feed.
You are getting a live preview from your GoPro. There may be some lag because the info has to transfer from your GoPro to your output device through the HDMI cable. I am not sure how to add sound. You can turn off video stability in protune feature menu.

The little access door hinge on my Black5 broke off, it still slides close and seals but it no longer swings open but just falls off when opened

thanks for this video!!! I have a gopro 6 and the screen stopped showing the display but the touch screen still works, is there a possibility that the display is off? I thought if i’d tether it to a monitor I can see it’s screen and control the settings like factory reset it

So I got a couple of Hero 7 Blacks for the soul purpose of using them as HD camera for a UA-cam page. Sound quality I had a separate idea that has worked out to link up with Vid footage... BUT! there doesn't seem to be an app that allows mew to view and control several go pros at the same time.
All that for this... If I connect three Hero GoPro 7's at the same time to a monitor... can I split screen the monitor and view multiple gopros at the same time while also recording?
If I can at least view all angles at the same time the rest of the recording process will fall into place with the technology provided. Point being is I'm trying to be my own camera team at the same time of trying to make a youtube page and seeing all angles at the same time will simplify a lot of things.

Monitor and laptop are 2 different things and that is why it doesn't work via display port. Try to connect them via bluetooth so you can see GoPro footage on your laptop.

Hi , I am very dissapointed and angry with gopro!! had my gopro 7 black and I could just connect to my TV with just my HDMI cable and watch clips immediatelly without buying anything else. Bought the Gopro 10 and lost that feature, unless of course I buy this fucking mediamod device that I dont need. I tried to use a direct cable but now GOPRO wont let the direct cable transmit to tv unless you purchase the fucking mediamod device. I am so dissapointed I wont buy again from gopro
