You paint it black, better is to remove the chrome first... there is a chemical solution for this. Also you can cover it in sticker... black sticker... Or you can buy a black grille.
I have these in white on my 2001 Civic LX coupe, hate to say it but the push the back part of the hood up like a quarter of an inch on both sides , not impressed
