Mr. old school calling it a fan belt! LOL. I found that it was easier to install the new belt around all the grooved pulleys first. Then turn the tensioner clockwise for slack and slide the belt over the water pump pulley which does not have ribs to jump the belt over. But whatever works, right. Thanks for the vid. And if the belt keeps jumping off, replace the tensioner. It's probably worn and cocked under tension. Cheers.
EXCELLENT video. You sir, saved me a ton of 'learning curve' headache and a bunch of time. I did the wife's 2010 2.5L 4-cyl Escape in no time. The original push-pin broke but I have many new ones on hand.Thank You for socket sizes as well. 10mm for all the cover screws and 15mm for the idler pulley.I did the belt change in my driveway using jack stands and a floor jack. At the same time, I rotated tires. Thanks again.
Your instructions were great. Changed my Mariner 10 belt however I found that when putting the belt on I reached from the top to slip the belt the final step on the large smooth idler pulley which made the new belt easier to put on rather than take if over the lip of a grooved pulley.
Just changed the belt on my 2009 Mazda Tribute 2.5L-4cyl and this here looks to be the same thing. I did it with the car on ground/wheel on method and a couple hours of figuring. Would have been great to have found this video beforehand to have known exactly where the tensioner was and to place the socket. It may have convinced me to jack the car up and take the wheel off. Either way though, I got it done by sliding my skinny body under the car and a helping hand from above. Finding the schematic shown in this video, looking up the tensioner on a parts store to visually reference and a quick reference call to my mechanic was also a great help.
Thank you guys save me a lot of money for some the only takes maybe an hour go to the shop it takes 5 hours early I surely didn't know where that least pulley was at
If you're having trouble getting the new belt to go around the crank pulley, as I did, I found that just leaving it started as well as I could and just leaving the tension on everything for a few minutes helped the new belt to settle into place. After about 5 minutes of nothing but waiting, it slid right into place with one hand.
It had an echo and the background noise of what I guess is the street outside of your bay. It wasn't bad. Garages are noisy places. Scott needs to come hang out with you when the air compressor kicks on!
Scott is a bitch. Don’t listen to Scott. Don’t be like Scott. I’m listening on my phone and I could hear just fine. It was raw and real and straight to the point.

Kevin108 Glad to hear!
Is this the V6 or I4?
Nice vid. I would like you to do a vid on changing AC compressor. It look accessible from wheel well... True or false?
It's easier to do than the alternator since you have to remove the compressor and let it hang to access it.
would it be a similar situation with a 2010 Mercury Milan?
+Trent Coots Yes it should be almost the same.
Great Vid! Can you do this job without removing the wheel?
Yes you can.Thanks for watching.
My question is, why didn't Ford put the tensioner on the top front instead of bottom rear of the engine.
Thanks for watching.
God only help the poor person who would have to R&R the alternator on that vehicle.
Stevo I’ve done a couple haha
serpentine belt!!!!!!
I would actually watch your videos if they had good audio . You need to either quit posting or spend money on a camera with AUDIO
dont know Thanks for your feedback .I will keep that in mind for the future. Can I ask a question ?Was the sound poor on your computer or your phone?

Sounded fine to me . Maybe you need to check your speakers
