Also if you crack the axle nut before you jack it up works.
you just need to seperate strut from knuckle( 2 bolts) or seperate ball joint to get enough movement from knuckle to get axle out of knuckle, knuckle stays in place

Why disconnect the battery?
you needed more than a cv axle. TIe rods. You removed everything!! now you nee an alignment!!
