Hi, Thanks for the video. Is there a way for a solo person to determine if the chirping I am hearing is from the idler pulley (grooved one) or the accessory idler pulley(smooth one) If I only hear the chirping above 1000 rpm? (08 escape 2.3L with AC )
You are very welcome! You can control RPMs from under the hood using throttle controller (where cables go to). Having said that I have never seen grooved pulley go bad.
@@justdoityourself well I have 169000 mi so I don't expect bearings to last forever. I guess the tensioner fully is another common one that can go? I'm just trying to figure out what parts the need because I don't have another vehicle. So what the plan is is to get as many parts and then use what I need. I was just hoping there'd be a better way to figure out which one was making the noise so that I wouldn't buy what I didn't need. So I can't be at the car with the shield down and revthe engine. When it started it was only rainy days or after the rain that I would hear the chirping but the last few days it's constant even after running the car for a couple hours. However, I don't hear it just at regular idol when parked.
You might want to spay them with water one by one, often that make the noise worst. Most likely you will need tensioner and idler pulley. I'd start there.
@@justdoityourself yeah I guess the issue is that she have to take the wheel off and get the shroud off before you can really get to anything. You can't get too much from the top. I was trying to avoid having to take everything apart and take the belt off to examine the pulleys and then put everything back on to go get the parts needed.

That is correct
