ive been working on a clubman "rally" styled build and im just finally happy to have some good builders to give me ideas on how i can finish mine. the stance and width on minis with bigger tires look freaking amazing.
Add a limited slip to it, I'm sure someone makes one for it....I built a rally civic years ago and having the limited slip made a huge difference in performance...I love the build bro, it truly is a work of art
You talk of the front bumper maybe being a little ridiculous... GO FOR IT!! ... your off road modding a mini COOPER! Your already there, keep it coming
Heat the front flares to replace the plastic before cutting it. “Paint” the heat evenly over a large area. Let it cool then cut it. Should remove most of the uneven tension issues.
Some of your shots make it look like a RC car. When I first seen the thumbnail I thought you got a RC car as a "this is what I want it to look like". GREAT BUILD!!!
great build man! your shop looks killer with all the new cabinets. loved the music and damn washington is so beautiful, hope I get back out there someday. peace and happy fathers day nate.
Nate that’s bad ass makes me want to change direction on my 64 mini was gonna do a all wheel drive road rally car now I want to lift it your videos always inspire every single video you make has drummed up some sort of inspiration
i really appreciate the content its clear, informative and entertaining. the story arc, filming and editing quality is top notch. thank you for great quality content.
I wanna do this to my 2016 Cooper so I feel a little more comfortable taking it up to the mountain in the winter time, when i go snowboaring! This one looks awesome!
So to go with the Igloo theme you should paint the stinger hoop white, and because it's a gambler car just add a stinger to the back bumper and paint it white too. Looks great though. It's got me wanting to build something like it. We need an east coast gambler.
That LIFTED MINI Cooper is soooooooo cool 😎, it’s actually reminded me of what I would like 👍 to do to my Peugeot 206 Quicksilver 3dr hatchback here in the U.K. and I also think that your MINI is just so brilliant with all the fab work that you did that I am now lost for words. So congratulations for a excellent build and for reminding me of my project to come.
Really looks great. The only thing missing is a couple of white bows on the roof rack that look like handles on your "IGLOO". Other than that, it's awesome!
mXr reached out to me through a BMW forum, as well. Working through some issues with the product, but they've been good to work with so far. Ride quality has been good on my e46. Loving the Mini build! I just dragged another one home over the weekend.
Add a mounting area to the deleted rear window spot. It will keep the cleanliness but give you a unique spot. Either way, I love this thing. I want one. If you really need to stay busy you could start a custom mini shop. I'll buy the first.
I wasn’t so sure about this thing in the beginning but I effing love how it turned out. I also liked that you did the build in one video and didn’t stretch it out.
Sweet lil buggy Nate!! I love it bro, brings me back to watching those old Herbie the love bug derby movies when I was a kid. Someday I'm gonna do the Gambler with you and thank you for all the inspiration!
looks great, it's going to be so fun!! my daughter has a mini-S and it's so fun to zip around in, it's a rocket ship that handles like a go-cart. Great Tunes on this one as well!!!
I think you might started something here, I'm glad you went for a full size wheel .and when you get back from your run I can picture some Jimny solid axle's going under the Igloo I'm shaw you can make it work 🤣🤣🇦🇺
Well done! Reminds me of the baja bug. I love it. Might have done a tube rear bumper to be symmetrical and cause that tow point looks weak if you are pulling from a sideways angle. Looking forward to your next video. Happy Father's Day.
@@DirtLifestyle Nate , you do some amazing work, the roof rack looks fantastic, the front bumper fantastic, it reminds me of a Paris Dakar rally Raid car ……there’s just one thing it’s missing …it needs 🇬🇧 flag , just as a sign of respect for the history of the MINI 👍🍻
If you want your cut flares to line up, just do what drifters do, dril some holes inside and use zip ties, if you want to open the hood just cut them and replace after
On the Front Fenders, Make a piece that is glued to rear part of the fender and overlaps to the front part of the fender. then run some super strong small magnet to pull the front of the flares down a tad.
Cool build, I love it! If you'd like a little positive feedback about the video editing...I appreciate the amount of info you included during the build without getting so into it that it becomes boring and the music selection was great on the different segments of the video.
I had my doubts, but you knocked it outa the park, it looks fun and cant be any worse than a lifted Miata. And as long as you do not kill it will give hours of fun for you or someone else if you decide to sell it. I have the idea now to get one of the estate ones and doing similar I think that could make a great mid size overlander.
I think this is absolutely awesome! But the problem is that it's not an off road vehicle. Ground clearance and big tires does not make it an offroad vehicle... suspension travel makes it and offroad vehicle. Stuff like this ends up having some major issues once you start treating it like an offroader... like strut towers cracking, control arms bending and mounts breaking... Either way, this is going to be a cool little car!! Keep the video coming!!
My TJ had those size tires on it when I bought it and it did pretty well, other than the break over angle. That thing is looking awesome you two 👌🍒 -Thomas
Wish u would do more stuff during the week , but am able to make it to Sunday . Think ur little roler skate looks good .keep up the good work ,stay safe
Really nice looking build, love to see in person but we’re all the way down in very southern Arizona and it’s getting super hot out as well… Have a good time with your new toy.
The Mini looks awesome!!! There will always be things you could or "should" have done, but it is your build and you did an amazing job. I love watching your videos. They inspire me to do more metal fabrication. Keep up the awesome work and can't wait to see you guys in do the Gambler!
The proportions (with exception to the front bash bar) with the wheel/tyre combo look like a classic Austin Mini on 10" wheels! .Leigh in Scotland. PS: I've always wanted to get a spare bonnet (hood) & convert my supercharged S to 7" classic Mini headlights (albeit led units) with sections from classic Mini front wings (fenders). Maybe even Riley Elf grille & modified rear wing/boot (fender/trunk) sections grafted in!!
I really enjoy watching your videos. You are a great fabricator. Where you cut the front flares doesn't look bad at all, but I had an idea as I watched you make those patch panels. What if you filled in the ends (where you cut) of each flare. You could use aluminum, thick plastic, fiberglass, etc. You could shape the pieces you fill in the cut ends so that you force the plastic to line up exactly. Maybe more work than what it's worth, but thought I throw out the idea.
Paint the roof rack white too. It’ll be like the handles on an igloo cooler 😎
and in a year we will see this as a whole trend of ralley style mini coopers running around
ive been working on a clubman "rally" styled build and im just finally happy to have some good builders to give me ideas on how i can finish mine. the stance and width on minis with bigger tires look freaking amazing.
Hoop and roof bends match the radius of the headlights, me likey.
Cool build, FYI the the grill material isn't extruded, it's expanded metal.
that was killing me too lol
I thought at first that you were being pedantic… the poor guy just said it so many times. Love ya’ Nate.
I misspeak all the time. One of my many flaws
@@DirtLifestyle, I thought to myself “Why would anyone point that out?” But, man you rode that hard into the sunset.
@@lory2622 yep. I make mistakes everyday 👍
Whoever buys this when you are done is so lucky.
Add a limited slip to it, I'm sure someone makes one for it....I built a rally civic years ago and having the limited slip made a huge difference in performance...I love the build bro, it truly is a work of art
There are a couple options for LSDs for the R53 roughly around $750 to $1,000
Nice work, gentlemen. And... Happy Father's Day, Nate.
Thank you! Happy Father's day 👊
For the time and money spent this is a really good one - You turned a car that I detest into something that I will drive....
I FULLY EXPECTED TO SEE YOU CATCHING AIR.
Lol
Your Fab skills are awesome ! Having worked in the aircraft industry for 30 plus years, I have worked with some awesome fabricators . Good Job !
Thank you!
Mount the recovery board to the side panels and a fuel and water cell on the other side to match.
I wonder how many mine Cooper owners. Will be asking for build sheet .or for Matt to build them the parts .happy fathers day guys
Totally diggin the bluegrass jam during the bumper build segment!
Some of your shots make it look like a RC car. When I first seen the thumbnail I thought you got a RC car as a "this is what I want it to look like". GREAT BUILD!!!
Looks great Nate. Pack spare axles!
great build man! your shop looks killer with all the new cabinets. loved the music and damn washington is so beautiful, hope I get back out there someday. peace and happy fathers day nate.
Much appreciated! Happy Father's day!
Looks like a super fun little car, awesome video man, thanks for the upload
Thanks for watching!

Sweet! Can't wait to see you running the Gambler.....
I really love your channel. It's the perfect mix of awesome fabrication, great teaching, and a stellar music taste. Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words 🤘
Happy Father’s Day man! Would love to see more content on this mini! I would love to have one.
Happy Father's day!
This is the coolest thing I have seen on UA-cam in a while!
Much appreciated!

Such a cool looking mini. My wife already told me NO I can’t do that to ours. 😂 However she dose like it. 🥳💪
Lol!
Lol
Perfect excuse to buy another!
I’m lucky, we’ve got three MINIS in the garage. Might have to consider a lift kit etc 🇬🇧💨
Ha => i thought i klicked on an RC video only to find out it was a real car 😁
Love it 😍
Dude dope lil mini! And as usual your music's on point. Peace! Can't wait for the next video.
Thanks!
I think it's your coolest build just cause it's a Mini
That turned out way better than I imagined it would...🤩
Very cool...👍👍👍👍👍
Great looking little rally Logging Road bomber
A new Dirt Lifestyle on Father’s Day. Thank you and Happy Fathers Day!
Thanks!!! You as well!

It just makes me smile ...
Me too! It is the funnest looking car I own

THAT IS BADASS!! I bet it's a blast to drive. Very nice... absolutely love it 😎
That thing is awesome I have wanted to build one of those minis for off-road for awhile and this truly inspires me
Sweet little build. My daughter wants me to build her one now. Thanks Nate !
For the "protective piece" I would have done angle, ( , half step
I wasn’t so sure about this thing in the beginning but I effing love how it turned out. I also liked that you did the build in one video and didn’t stretch it out.
Looks good, you've got a good eye for style and function.
Good Luck at The Gambler!

Thanks for the positive vibes brother!
Which coilovers did you use? Because when I look at the site, nothing comes up for mini coopers
looks great!
bet it's a hoot!
thanks for the great content,Nate!
Awesome! - I hope I see this thing in person some day, excited to see it shred the Gambler this year through your channel.
Per B is for build… Nate did such a good job!
They said that?! I'm flattered if it's true! I've been watching them since before I had a UA-cam channel
This is really awesome! Great to see your creativity and it looks amazing 👍
Thanks Joe!

Nate you really got me inspired for my baja bug build absolutely love this build!
The end results of several different ideas that's time had come. Looks good.
For the fenders weld small hangers for the flairs to keep them matching.
I love it. Looks different from the normal look. Your on to something new. Good job Nate!

The music in the video is awesome lol. From bluegrass to blues delay guitar
This thing is awesome. What a fun project and I bet it is a blast to run. Good luck at the gambler!!!

Love the build man! This may be my favorite build yet!
Can wait to see you guys out at the trails. See you at the gambler🤘🤘
Nate that looks so badass!! Have fun and kick some ass at the Gambler 500!!
Louvers for the protective plate backed up with diamond screen. Should do the trick.
Seems to work fine as is 👍
I LOVE IT!!!! TOTALLY AWSOME ENGINEERING!!!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!! TOTALLY AWSOME BUILD AND VIDEO!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
I never ever thought you could make one of those things cool but u got it this is pretty damn cool

I was wondering when we were getting to dimple dies! This little build is looking pretty wicked Nate!

Could put the recovery boards over the rear driver side window. Create a bracket to mount it there. That would look pretty awesome
Heck yeah.. looks amazing. Nice job nick.. 🏆🏆🏆
Wicked little build
