We may be able to get away with it, but doesn't mean it's legal. Some counties here in the States have emissions testing, which means modifying anything engine/exhaust related (especially cats) is impossible. At least you guys have the ability to use aftermarket catalytic converters and engines that are not original to the car.
Too be honest im kinda happy stuff like that is not on the road here.
Exactly what I was thinking. In my youth I had a real Mini Clubman Estate (1979) with 6 x 10 Weller Wheels, 1275GT rear drums (which had built in spacers) and 1" spacers. The inside of the wheel was level with the outside of the car. Literally with an hour of driving it the first police car I saw was on my like a rash and I had to make arches for it out of "For Sale" signs. Those were the days :)

we are headed down that path. the danger of mods are obvious esp with evidence of ppl just cutting parts off AFTER they have passed inspection in another form.

@Giga Shrubbz I think you might have misunderstood the original comment. In Germany modifications aren't banned either. They need to get approval though so you can legally go on the road with your modifications. Not every modification will get approval (such as modifications that make your vehicle significantly louder, less safe or emit significantly more emissions), but you can still make a whole range of modifications and of course repair your car yourself. Complex modifications would require extensive documentation and a lengthy approval process.

I wanna see that thing fully built for Off Road! Grill guard/skid plate, KC lights, and lifted with the long travel. Also might want to figure out the power issue. Maybe K-swap it with boost? Make it a ripper!

There's some legit countryman builds out there if you google image for them, we have a ball in our countryman with all terrain tires. Handles the trails better than the ford bronco sport lol

It was awesome to see the mini and the jumpicon out for the gambler 500. I didnt get to see it at hooptie x but i got to have the jumpicon going down the mountian behind me on the trailer. It was fun. 😀
Was hoping for some audio of how horribly the tires rub during spirited driving, was not disappointed.
Props to the audio work when editing, brought back many good memories. Makes me wanna build something again and finally run in the gambler.

95 man hours , a TWO day build , that's how .
don't worry most will be forgotten. single seater is already gone, boat will have one trip around the harbour, then destined to never be spoken of again.

I love the mini it looks cool. All it needs just to smooth out the edges so the tires don't hit and it will be better. But all in all it was awesome. Great job guys.
I would be checking those wheel lugnuts on every off road stop just in case.

You might have an open diff in the Mini. Get a 1.5 or a 2-way clutch diff. Look for ppl parting out wrecked rally cars.

Could have made some spacers for the tops of the struts. Maybe 2.5 " of extra space for those tires.. mini needs all the extra hoops and giant coil overs please finish it. Then add some more power.
