Jokes aside, we seriously need a new Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing game. Put in all the characters from the previous games, as well as new ones such as Kazuma Kiryu, Sakura Shinguji, Selvaria Bles, Arle Nadja, Axel Stone, and many more. Bring in new stages from games such as Daytona USA, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5, and Virtua Racing. And of course, make the All-Star Moves more unique and creative.
Chances of SEGA actually considering making a proper SASASR with functional and unique All Star moves: Practically none, unfortunately.
Also, this has even less chance of happening than actually getting another SASASR game, but... SEGA also makes the Hatsune Miku rhythm games as well. But that won't happen in a million years cause Ulala exists, and that's all SEGA really needs for a character that represents a rhythm game. But I'd rather have both Ulala and Miku in this impossible game than have Pudding return (I don't have anything against Pudding, its just that from what I remember, the premise of the SASASR franchise was a celebration of various SEGA IPs, which is why you had characters like Opa Opa and Bonanza Bros. in the first game, who would otherwise have never been seen again, so in my mind the perfect scenario would be to represent as many IPs as possible.)
The reason why people like the all stars in ASRT is because of the music. Because oh my lord they went so hard for the themes
Thats fine and all but the all stars are supposed to be about actually getting you ahead in the race. TSR's ultimate themes are good too and yet in execution they're terrible because they're even more unoriginal than the ones in ASRT. The original ASR has banger music AND practical applications with original attacks that all perfectly encapsulated who the character was
Honestly. I have this game, constantly play it, and the All-Star themes go absolutely hard. They didn’t need to do them so good, but they did, and I love it

I know this is april fools video, but the all-stars are waaay more useful than you think.
1. They DO give massive speed boost when used properly and at right time, the boat selections are super slow so if you save the all-star item for those, you save massive amount of time. Plus if you use on them on hard turns or on some shortcuts, like the last S-turn on chilly castle you can just go straight through it as you dont slow down if you hit walls, although its not that useful if you are skilled with the game.
2. While some of them attacks are useless, the ones that fire forward, especially AGES and Joe Musashi for example can hit literally everyone multiple times.
I mean that still makes them infinitely worse than the ones in the original being as only a single one in that game is downright useless (ulala's) meanwhile 99% of them in this game are awful.
Also only having the all star be useful on the boat segments and downright pointless during the plane ones (they go the same speed as if you were just flying normally) essentially means on a level like Night's stage, there is 0 point to using the all star what so ever unless you happen to be playing as a character that has one thats a real attack
So excited to see many people still talking about this game even after 12 years!! By the way, how can you all get in a lobby? Mine is always empty when I search for one
0:55 I remember the time I unlocked NiGHTS and played as her for the first time. While I knew what her All Star was, I at least hoped that model would be... a little bit more fresh looking. But no, it's basically a copy and paste of her model from JoD.
The most I can say about these goofy little wastes of time is that, the bootleg remix of Gay Activity they made for Yogscast is hilarious in its existance.
Also it's nice to hear a mix of Metal Sonic's Sonic 4 theme, we're NEVER gonna hear that one again.
The all stars are the only thing better in the first game tbh. Maybe the tracks as well? Idk since I play way more this one than the first, maybe im just used to these ones
Nah the original is better in every single way minus the track selection, the tracks are better in transformed
