Spend a couple of weeks in sri lanka traveling in 2022. Never expierenced something like that. We once had a guy approaching us on the streets and he started showin us around his city for like an hour and then he just left, he didn´t wanted money at all. After an hour he was like "have a nice day, was nice to meet you! good bye!"

Hi. I was a lawyer in srilanka who did many adoption cases back then. That's why I decided to write you. Don't take the full picture of srilanka from one or two videos. It's totally different culture rather than Europe. Mothers gave many babies for adoption because they didn't have other choice. I don't know your particular situation. But don't hate them at all. If you really understand the reasons around the adoption decision you may forgive them. According to the srilankan culture lot of women are forced to give their babies for the adoption specially if they are unmarried. Poverty matters a lot too. Lack of education on birth controls. Etc. Once you're big enough visit the country and understand it.

My Grandad wad stationed in Sri Lanka in WW2,he's pictured riding elephants bare back ,he survived WW2 and came back ,he always spoke fondly of the warmth of the people and had a passion for the wonderful spice the Sri Lankans use to cook their foods

That was not a scam man, These people trying to do self tours with tourists are everywhere in Asia and Africa, It happened to me in India, Philippines, Senegal, The Gambia, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Tanzania, Uganda ... etc. You can just agree on the price before you start the walk or you give them just 3-5 dollars MAX. But after he saw that you give him 50 USD so normally like that, he was like Oh my God !! this guy is a catch, I will not leave him, so I think it was your mistake from the begining. I did like the video so much and your way of dealing with people except the part that you are showing when you help others. But is a very nice video Ali

Hi. I was a lawyer in srilanka who did many adoption cases back then. That's why I decided to write you. Don't take the full picture of srilanka from one or two videos. It's totally different culture rather than Europe.
Mothers gave many babies for adoption because they didn't have other choice. I don't know your particular situation. But don't hate them at all. If you really understand the reasons around the adoption decision you may forgive them. According to the srilankan culture lot of women are forced to give their babies for the adoption specially if they are unmarried. Poverty matters a lot too. Lack of education on birth controls. Etc. Once you're big enough visit the country and understand it.

My Grandad wad stationed in Sri Lanka in WW2,he's pictured riding elephants bare back ,he survived WW2 and came back ,he always spoke fondly of the warmth of the people and had a passion for the wonderful spice the Sri Lankans use to cook their foods

That was not a scam man, These people trying to do self tours with tourists are everywhere in Asia and Africa, It happened to me in India, Philippines, Senegal, The Gambia, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Tanzania, Uganda ... etc.
You can just agree on the price before you start the walk or you give them just 3-5 dollars MAX. But after he saw that you give him 50 USD so normally like that, he was like Oh my God !! this guy is a catch, I will not leave him, so I think it was your mistake from the begining.

The scene at the beginning was truly unfortunate but you handled it so well. You were able to communicate to the guy how you felt at that moment without sugarcoating but in the kindest way, somehow still giving him the dignity and without causing a scene.
