Just checking why you did not have to solder anything to the NeoBioMasta, I am seeing a lot of people having to solder pins 10 and 12 to get this to work, are you finding you don’t need this step if you fully remove your old bios ? Thanks and keep up the good work :)
with the new version, either remove bios or disable it by lifting the pins listed, no need to solder, thats for the older version.
This BIOS looks so cool, but I am terrified that I will break my CBOX if i try to upgrade lol

There are kits out there to install a Cr2032, you have to disable the recharging circuit prior to using. There is also a rechargeable batter you can wire up that seems fairly simple that ive seen people use, I will be trying it out at a later date. The rechargeable battery is here: ebay.to/3bXFL0w The kits I havent seen sold anywhere except dissasembled with OG NeoBiosMasta clones on ebay. Ive heard the 2032's wind up dying very quickly for a lot of people, so I havent attempted it though I have a kit. Ill explore more in another video once I test these options out.

This is very tempting. Did you order the Cbox and 161-in-1 cart set? Or did you order them separately? I'm still on the fence about this seeing as the MVSX is coming out soon. Seems like they'll be around the same price if you get all the add-ons for the Cbox (controller(s), convertors/cables, NeoBiosMasta 2020). The main difference now is that you can play every Neo Geo game with Unibios on the Cbox while currently only 50 on the MVSX (which isn't even out yet).
Emulation versus original hardware... Just whatever your preference is. I dont know the quality behind the MVSX, but yeah price point will be close between the two. I bought the cbox with the 161 in 1 bundle. In reality minus the controller the cbox 161 in 1 and The NeoBiosMasta with unibios 4.0 I spent less than $400 including shipping costs. Controllers you can use USB or SNK on this machine... So could not have to spend anything or could build a controller or mod one... Tons of possibilities.
@@Madlittlepixel One of the main reasons I'm considering this option is because the MVSX doesn't ship to Japan, which I find odd and annoying. I can get this cdbox pretty easily as aliexpress ships to Japan. Another advantage of getting this is I could buy MVS carts of games that I really enjoy playing. I can get SNK controllers pretty easily as there are a bunch of used video game shops near where I live, which is nice. But I do love that controller that you have, though it is pricey. Anyway, lots to consider and as you said, tons of possibilities.

This may sound like a crazy question, but how to I turn off PickNMix? I really want to get back to the 161-in-1 menu.
Power cycle the system without holding any buttons. I'm not sure if you are saying it's just stuck that way but I've not had that happen before

Any chance you have an extra NeoBiosMasta 2020 for sale in your store? I really screwed up when removing the bios in my Cbox MVS and ripped out many of the pads including CE and OE. I’ve got the older NeoBiosMasta that requires the CE and OE soldering.
Ah man that sucks. I actually sold the last one i had that i wasnt using in a bundle with a MVS board. Those traces definitely can be weak and easy to pull up, which I did on a unit as well and went with the 2020 biosmasta... Hopefully he gets more up soon as they do come in handy. Wish i had another, id definitely sell it to you for what I paid.

How does the version 2 cart hold up. I have version 1, if 2 has better improvements I will buy it.
The one I have I couldnt even say 100% is a version 2. It has characteristics of a v2 but the board is totally different. The one I have I never seen documented, so maybe its a v2 revision or a v3 I dunno. But it has performed very well for me.

I thought the bios was updated on the CBOX
Have to check the seller to make sure it has unibios 4.0 before buying one, but a lot of them were shipped with an earlier free unibios version.

What does using clippers to snip metal legs have to do with soldering? And also the previous version no matter what you did with the original bios chip you had to solder 2 wires from the NeoBiosMasta to the board... this one you solder nothing. This is very simple compared to the older ways of installing a unibios into an MVS1C. So yep righty then 😜
