Sorry guys, I had to cut off new orders for the systems as I am fully booked at the moment and will be reopening orders in July, maybe earlier. Follow me on the JNX FB page for up to date news. Thanks.
Can't wait for orders to open back up. Planning on ordering one with all video output options and the dust cover. Got money set aside in savings. I am ready! 😁
So glad to see JNX is still at it . James did an NGPC backlight mod for me a few years ago...He was easy to deal with and does fantastic work! -Highly recommended!
Thanks for the excellent review. Now I just need to wait until JNX opens up orders again. This video has more than convinced me the JNX CMVS is the way to go.
My unit from a few years ago looks almost the exact same, only missing the branding. (And I opted for s-video, composite, and component, no SCART, for convenience.) Works like a charm. James is super nice to boot!
That Depends.. Rhea/Pheobe installed in a System + SDCard are selling for $800-$1000 - I think for certain systems it is a fair trade. I see CMVS selling for $500-800. Depending on the setup and what the seller is looking for the trade is fair.
I have one of those too. James makes the finest consolized MVS systems I've ever seen. I had an Omega before and was an utter nightmare, picture quality was scrappy and it wasn't a faulty model either which is really sad considering how many people go for one without knowing how mediocre the internal wiring and assembly really is.
Hi there, I have exactly this model and the same console, I just have an issue wich I don’t know if it’s normal or no, is related to the audio, sounds like it’s missing the bass, and I don’t know if the bass is the bass that the board delivers, if it’s anything wrong with the board? The stereo mod? Apparently the board process the sound natively, however I’m kinda disappointed or concerned about the bass, maybe any of you has the same console and I can share a video of how it sounds?
I would really love to see a follow-up video or pics showing in more detail how this thing is wired up. I was particularly curious to see how the controller ports were wired. Cus this setup seems quite a bit simpler than others I have seen before.
The Omega has other differences, such as having a crappy video processor. When I bought a JNX I saw the difference immediately in terms of picture quality even over lesser video connections such as composite and S-Video.
Anyone know what enclosure this uses? I've been looking all over for my MVS, but haven't found it. I did find a Pactec one that was similar, but just not deep enough.
Todd's Nerd Cave nice. Thanks man. There's a few games i would like play on the neo... Damn is it pricey-rom cart, this system, rgb cable, controller. Got to be 650$
Todd's Nerd Cave. Yeah I'm on the fence with this one. I have a couple bvms/pvms and i would love to see how a neo looks on on one of those bad boys but I don't know if i want it bad enough to spend $600....couple questions. What system /game do you think looks the most impressive on a high rez crt? Will a neo geo play capcom roms through a rom cart the way final burn alpha does?
Is it one of the smaller 1 slot boards like this one? If so, there are all sorts of creative ways to house them. I have even seen people stuff them in Megadrive 2 shells.
No, MVS can not play AES carts. However you can buy adapters that allow MVS carts to play on the AES system. However those adapters tend to be expensive. A consolized MVS system makes more sense in that scenario.
Oh come on now.... Not willing to post more than 3 words... looking for advice. I am a Neo Geo Noob... Want to make the jump to original hardware. But Not sure what to get. I know the Neo SD makes it possible to pretty much own every game. Are there games on AES or MVS that are not on the other? Any downsides you can think of of one vs the other?
Website is kind of unclear.. the link in the description here doesn't take you to anything resembling an order page. Closest thing I could find to this was his supergun units and it says they aren't making them anymore... so uh, how do we buy one of these again?
Ah I see. Yet another niche almost impossible to get wait a year for before you get it type deals... I suppose that's the nature of items like this tho. Definitely looks nice, looks almost like a piece of 80's tech, like a late 80's or early 90's computer. How much did yours cost you to have made?
Ah, that's not half bad actually. If you know where to look, the boards are quite cheap. I have an MV-1C board myself that I use an external supergun with that has the JAMMA connector just coming out of it from a cable. Kind of a clunky setup but it works well. May have to look into having this done at some point... mine already has the unibios installed so shouldn't need that. How long did it take you to actually receive yours after ordering it?
I’m mad that James started putting the jnx sticker on them and player 1/player 2 over the controller ports. I had him sign the bottom of mine so that it would be original though. The graphics are a nice touch.
Careful! Looks like the cart can be wrenched because it’s fully exposed and not supported lost two copies of Killer Instinct for SNES from people tripping on my controller wires and bringing the whole system down while the game was plugged into my X-BAND Videogame Modem. There’s a reason the Sega 32X and every top-loading game consoles is designed the way they are! As ruggedly built as the CMVS is, I wish they made some kind of cartridge throat/support.
Emmett Turner the cart sits down in the console by at least an inch or more. And with the two pcbs plugged in, it would take a lot of effort to knock it out.
They don't but it's been adopted as the de-facto standard to get RGB from various pieces of equipment that already support it like the Genesis and SNES and other things that can support it via modding. Things like the OSSC support RGB over SCART and you can get a cheap cable to get RGB from SCART into a Framemeister.
Looks really neat but it's regrettable not having some kinda dust cover. I guess you could just leave a game in there but still, it's not fun getting dust into a cartridge connector like that.
I mean I can understand not having spring loaded flaps like say, the AES, but at least having some kinda folding thing like the original Famicom would've been really neat. Then again that would add to the price.
Dust flaps actually don't keep dust out of your console if it's a split flap design. Only single flap design works to keep dust out. Split doesn't work because dust will collect on the flaps and when the flaps are opened, the dust falls right into the slot connector. The cover we made for this CMVS covers the entire opening.
Sorry guys, I had to cut off new orders for the systems as I am fully booked at the moment and will be reopening orders in July, maybe earlier. Follow me on the JNX FB page for up to date news. Thanks.
Will do very interested in one of these consolized MVS

Am forced to built my own
So 2 years minimum to potentially get a unit. Kinda pointless review if they are so exclusive and only 35 people can actually get one.
@@hdmartyh check out the cbox mvs on Ali express, apparently has good reviews and has more to offer. Check it out

Its a handsome little console. Love that form factor.
Really nice ! It would be interesting to see the underside of the board to see the wiring. Especially for the DB15 stick ports.
Have exactly that same setup. CMVS from JNX + NeoSD. The perfect couple!
NEED THIS ASAP!
Anyone have one trade one for a complete Rhea System?
That Depends.. Rhea/Pheobe installed in a System + SDCard are selling for $800-$1000 - I think for certain systems it is a fair trade. I see CMVS selling for $500-800. Depending on the setup and what the seller is looking for the trade is fair.
the price is between 250 - 450 $ + shipping rates ... so i don't know why they sell this console with this price.
I like the original Neo Geo AES Rev 3-6 design. Got perfect RGB stereo scart on every TV.
The JNX console is really awsome! Great video!
Hey great video! If you're using an OSSC, why did you go for the oscillator? Speccing one out myself right now. Thanks!
lol I am not sure. It was an option so I picked it. But yeah, not necessary in my case.
Would it be necessary to connect the CMVS to a Sony Triniton CRT with a Scart to component converter?
HolaPlaneta no it’s just there (mostly) to allow straight component into flatscreens that take 240p
The Megadrive RGB port is lovely, I wish it was used on TVs instead of SCART.
Does this system have a slot for a memory’s card? Do any of the consolized Neo Geo MVS systems have memory card readers?

skins4thewin The controllers are wired up on the underside of the board using the tap points on the resistor packs.
The Omega has other differences, such as having a crappy video processor. When I bought a JNX I saw the difference immediately in terms of picture quality even over lesser video connections such as composite and S-Video.

Nope. Sharp and clean.

Parábens Muito bonito Mesmo seu Console Neo-geo .
Hey Todd.
Wishing you and your love ones a Happy New Year bro. Keep up the great work in 2018 as always my good man.
Anthony..
Very sexy! I have an MVS donation coming to me and I need to find a way to house it with a finish this neat
Is it one of the smaller 1 slot boards like this one? If so, there are all sorts of creative ways to house them. I have even seen people stuff them in Megadrive 2 shells.
I'm not sure what flavour it is until it arrives, I'll be sure to let you know
Hey Todd, how long did it take to receive your order after putting it through?
Spaghetti Mandingo around 3 months or so. He was backed up at the time.
Thanks for the reply!
I have a super gun from AliExpress and it plays just as fine as my AES with the rgb by pass
Awesome vid. Kind of tempted to get one for no reason. I have no games or controllers!
Does this have a virtual memory card like the Omega for game saving?
Whitehawkx just like the Omega it’s offered as an option.
Todd's Nerd Cave Perfect! Thanks for the quick reply. Now to wait for orders to open back up. Hopefully soon. 😁
I want to buy 1. Please tell me how to buy?

could that mod be used with USB controllers?

You have to email/contact James. Each one is built to order.

Shazad Mohammed stereo audio is on the mini din connector.

Those aren't stickers. They are laser cut into the plastic.
Todd's Nerd Cave damn now I’m pissed 😤
Anyone with the same style CMVS can always have their panels updated.
SupremeJudge it’s kool you hooked it up with a custom symbol on the bottom.

Hey he responded when I asked - stereo audio is on the mini din connector.
Doesn't look like these are for sale anymore :(
I thought they don't use SCART outside of the EU & UK?

Pretty cool, too bad it doesn't have more of a SNK look. Hate the way this looks.
No dust cover to Protect the Cartridge slot.... That's a Deal Breaker
I'd rather get the Arcade Works Omega MVS CONSOLIZED MACHINE.
