Ron, they have two versions of this. The standard and deluxe. The deluxe has the extra video outs, looks like they either sent you the wrong one, or they used the wrong photos in the listing.
Component or no component the listing and info they shared is that it's supposed to have the bios selector, and this does not. Looking at my previous messages with them they said exactly what's pictures you get all outputs and the options menus as shown, just drop a message when ordering if you want the clear black or the matte black finish. So full expectations to get what's shown. The component part isn't the biggest problem for me as I can still use component on this just fine via either neo geo or genesis HD retrovision cables, tested and works just fine on my end... But that Unibios option is bullshit, I'd either have to gut my NeoBiosMasta or just swap boards with another build I have. They don't list different options, and from those conversations it was clear you get all outputs options and Unibios options... I got neither...
Kinda surprised this would come out so bad considering the other MVS-Cs they sell have a pretty good rep from you and others I’ve seen.

I found some information in chinese, for bios setting, you can try press A+B+C or B+C+D on bios screen when the game boot up.

I bought this directly from timeharvest and not Ali. I love the unit, it's solid plastic, the controller setup is awesome. The image is amazing through MD2 component and the images and info from timeharvest are exactly what I received. Mine is top quality and I love it, I was given no BS and wouldn't touch Ali with a barge pole. I understand your being upset but I recommend this unit to anyone interested. I just need to add the battery. I've seen the component image and it's computer generated, but I didn't see this image on their site. I visit China and Japan allot and am familiar with the way things work. The team that builds them are very talented, the language barrier doesn't help though.

I have the previous cbox from them and love it. It has all I want so I see no need to upgrade. I liked the look of this model but I just can’t justify buying another one.
I had no reason to buy this as I have 2 other consolized MVS units, but I had been eyeballing this one for a while and figured since I havent seen anyone check this one out itd be cool to share it with my viewers.

I never go off pictures(unless it's guaranteed picture is of item). I don't trust Chinese sellers descriptions. So far I may have past up a few cool things but can't say I've been screwed.
I wonder a couple of things without seeing the listing you viewed. Did they confuse component with composite? ... And is there an SD card slot or another way internally to load your own BIOS files?
Edit, they certainly do show component out in their listing picture. When you showed the back, don't even see traces for component out on the PCB (unless on bottom). Almost like they shipped you the wrong model or something. The way the listing is worded they don't mention the outputs in writing, but do make it sound like you should be able to download the v4.0 UniBIOS though... So maybe they're is a way to add more BIOS files? Doesn't fix the component out though.
Yeah these guys for some reason don't list in words what you will receive they always post pictures.. probably a shady way for them to get around disputes as a seller on Ali.

Greetings from Taiwan!! I got mine from the original maker, I might be the first buyer to this unit ever... I think this was so badly build that I regret buying it so much.
Bad soldering here and there, mine had so many cold joints and broke wires that I had to reflow it. The seller uses paper (like the ones you write homework on.) for LED color filtering, man that is so ghetto. I saw your unit doesn't have that LED as mine does (The triangle above the SNK logo), I guess they removed that for increasing the casing strength.
And that plastic case was so fragile that you can break them with your fingers, the seller reshipped another for my cracked one (Broke on arrival). And the assembly uses copper stands, some of them you just can't screw tight, one reason is that they refuse to get tight, another reason: you might break your casing, let alone that those stands don't share the same height, again, ghetto style.
Oh and the user interface is...okay, I think. Can't ask for more. Mine can change BIOS version by pressing A+B+C and press reset.
As for the interface, I asked the seller, he looked like a hardcore Saturn guy, I don't know why, he just don't use normal component interface, but AES and Genesis 2 format is good for me, so not a big problem on my side.
Anyway, there are so many alternatives on the market, eg. MISTer, just don't waste your money.
I contacted the original manufacturer of this unit. This is the only one with NeoGeo official authorization for the use of the Uni-BIOS. Their official shop is on TaoBao.
CLONE is to duplicate the same setup of Player 1(including button config) to Player 2. and MIRROR is like CLONE but in mirror image, so left becomes right.

That one is nicer then the one I got. I paid 400 for mine. Had to get a special cable made for mine in order to plug into my framemiester. I just use a button combination to get to unibios
Own a 1c board in a NEOGEO arcade machine with the multi cart already, but almost ordered one of these. Instead I just received my AES multi cart for my AES system. Sad to see you disappointed.

I am thinking of buying this. My question is, what Cartridges work on this? Could you kindly link me to carts that do please. Don't want to make a wrong purchase.
Is it possible you have bought (or at least been sent) a lower end model with less optional features? Adding component isn't exactly a simple addition like RGB / composite, and the BIOS switching feature is also something that would require extra circuitry to do the switching work.
The original site on TaoBao also mentions player have to use MD2 component cable.
I hope they make it right for you. I bought one from Kingdom of bags store a while back housed in a beautiful stainless steel case. It has controller ports for SNK, Sega and PS2. I'm using it with a wireless Sega controller and it works perfectly. It also works with after market wireless PS2 controllers. It has component video but not the latest Unibios. The stainless case makes it the most stunningly beautiful NeoGeo console I have ever seen. I have no complaints other than it takes about a month before the seller builds and ships. Once shipped it arrived in 3 days. The seller made the long lead time very clear in the listing and in messages. They are not stocked but built to order.
If you want to see pictures of the stainless model go to Aliexpress and search "Ultimate Deluxe MVS SNK NEOGEO AES JAMMA CBOX MVS-1C". You should find the listing by seller "Kingdom of bags". I've bought a lot of things from Aliexpress that didn't turn out too well but I'm very happy with my stainless steel NeoGeo console. If you can stand the long wait and are willing to pay the cost I highly recommend it.

Following the link you provided shows the box with out component plugs.
I think they got the official authorization from NeoGeo to use the Uni-BIOS but the right is restricted to "v3.3". The official site uses this as one of the selling point. But I think players prefer Uni-BIOS v4.0
So in my aes the only way to access uni bios is by plugging in the controller to port 2 then hold start and select and press b. Maybe it’s something like that

3:23 MAD LITTLE PIXEL is the battery under that little square panel underneath the console ? Take a look as the battery connector you was looking at inside of the console may of been the top of the connector the actual battery may be underneath the console under that panel with the 4 screws. 👍
yes, i didnt think about that at the time but there is a battery holder there. But unfortunately the worse of the worse happened so i havent been able to check it out... the damn system just completely stopped working. Wont power on anymore :(

@Madlittlepixel look up NEO-BUF if you still have this kicking around, it seems there are chips on the board that are now known to fail and there is a add-on you can solder to work around
To buy stuff in Ali you need a recommendation from somewhere, otherwise you risk too much.

I quit time ago from Neo Geo, as much as I love the system everything related it's expensive and already old, so I just focus on Megadrive, core grafx, GBA and other consoles I own, for Neo Geo I'm going to build a raspberry pi build inside a Neo Geo AES cart paired with my Neo Geo X stick... maybe in the future I will do the same but putting a DE-10 Nano inside the cartridge.

I bought a cbox from timeharvest as a first time MVS buyer and regret it. The encoders for video output they use are of mediocre quality and produce a dull subpar picture, no battery clip was installed, it wasn't wired for stereo output, and the solder workmanship on the underside of the board sucked. Plus what if the board gets a RAM error? You're stuck with an expensive brick with a pretty case.
The newer cbox's, well not this one anyway don't seem to have too many issue.... the battery being removed/clipped out is common. Stereo output has been implemented in recent revisions and picture quality has been good... I get better picture/audio out of the newer Cbox's then I did with the OmegMVS. Im not defending whoever is making these things, as previous versions had many issues... but up until now everything else I had got from them has been pretty good when it came to MVS video/audio and quality of work.
I have now decided not to spend a cent on this after all these reports of crap worksmanship. You can't expect much from this Chinese crap anyway.
This shouldn't be surprising considering there's always risk buying anything from those sites.

For what reason? I know holding all 4 buttons takes you to the memory manager? Was there some secret? Holding BCD takes you to the hardware test screen... holding ABC takes you to unibios setting.

Exactly. And that's where you can set the actual BIOS (Region / MVS or AES) being used. First menu item, "Region Setup". So there, you have it. I don't get what you're complaining about.
@@nforce6435 this device was listed to have a special bios option that allowed you to select which bios to use, thats not the same as region selecting. It was supposed to have original regions, unibios 4.0 and other versions plus controller setup etc. This was an older version they sent me that didnt come with the complete feature set they advertised, thats what the complaint was and why the company actually took care of it.

Hey thanks for exposing them. Fans of you are where I heard about aliexpress so it's cool to get your official stance. I just got screwed on an LDK game and while $36 or whatever ain't a huge deal I've been disputing the hell out of it but all aliexpress alerts me with is coupons for more chinese handhelds I sure as hell don't trust aliexpress to process. The seller was called shenzhen store and I've heard about alot of stuff like that good feedback whatever but I scoured the post for ways they could screw me and I never thought they would just send a 32gb micro sd. I screenshotted like crazy all the specs pics store says "we send you good product pls look pls look" lol just nuts

Isn’t this the exact same hardware that fried another UA-camrs Open Source Scan Converter when he hooked it up? It had quite a reputation for a while due to that!
Not the exact unit, but from the same seller. And it was my OSSC that got fried from using RGB Scart, which they later addressed and fixed that issue... despite what anyone else said it was a fault with the design of the original machine they were selling and they admitted so and fixed it and do not sell that exact version any longer. This machine doesn't have that issue, but obviously misrepresented what they were selling though.

All that's stoping me form getting one is No HDMI. If i can find an good one under $300 with HDMI that supports those Multigame Cartridges i will be happy.
Noone has made an actual HDMI mod for Neo Geo hardware that I have seen.. when you see someone selling a HDMI Neo Geo AES for example, they always have just modded in one of those cheap rgb to hdmi convertors and havent actually tapped into the system how youd expect for an actual hdmi mod. Best we can do now is either take componet and put it through an OSSC or a RetroTink for decent HDMI output. Would be nice to have something similar to UltraHDMI or the Hidef NES mods.
@@Madlittlepixel Yeah, at 1st I was thinking of having an actual HDMI mod, but then I remembered that for the most part you end up with a crappy HDMI output from a cheap converter, but since I have a Retrotink2X Scart (and the classic), when I get a consolized MVS, I doubt I'll suffer to get a good HDMI output, and that would help me to potentially record the games from the actual hardware rather than emulation (which is convenient... and the same goes to compilations on other consoles like Ps2 or Wii, but still I would love to add the Neo Geo in either consolized MVS or AES to my retro gamimg stuff).

I did not get a replacement but I did get it refunded fairly quick. They gave me a shipping label and it was sent to a warehouse in California USA, within a couple days of them receiving they refunded me. This was all through Aliexpress as the seller never responded to me when I asked about the issues.
Well that's good on the refund at least. Too bad about the MVS though. That's been a dream for a bit for me anyway.

I remember trying before on something long ago, and the process went nowhere but me being screwed... Apparently the dispute process is supposed to be better now... We will see.

I am not surprised the seller is a Fool, I purchased a red one £220 2 years ago, seller promised alot I paid 40£ extra for bios 4.0 and a stereo mod. It came stock clear brown console not the red plastic one. Also took 3 months to ship. Timeharvest suck !!!

Single PCB MVS games are insaneo cheap from my experience collecting since early 00's so this is clever by the sweatshop factories, hacking hem up like this. Yikes.

@@paulngo4631 sucks cause what they explained and showed would have been awesome, but I also wound up having other issues. The power supply is either bad or the board in the MVS for power is bad, I can't get it to power on most the time and the power supply has a bad noise to it. So not worth risking buying this one. Aliexpress found in my favor on the dispute and provided a free shipping label to return for refund, so I'm glad I wasn't totally screwed
Why would you buy this when you have a MISTer?
Because MiSTer doesn't play cartridges nor easily uses SNK port controllers. Simple.... I mean why even bother with MiSTer... I can play Neo Geo on my PC, the Nintendo Switch, Raspberry Pi... all feel and play great. Its all about options dude, not everyone gives a crap about a specific option. I love the idea of MiSTer and FPGA gaming in general, but its not my preference. I rarely even have MiSTer plugged in, last time I used it was to produce a video about it. But let me put it this way and simply answer your question, because so many people say something similar, "why did you buy that?" ... This is a business I am running, no purchase goes without reason and doesn't provide a return. My channel is about exploring options when it comes to playing old school games.

um no not exactly. Not sure how you come to that conclusion lol, one device is original hardware and uses original controls, the other is an emulation device. Whatever your preference is is fine, but doesn't automatically make it better than any other option out there.

You should NOT make a video if you dont even know the basic things. On splash screen simply press ABC and you get to the bios. Pressing BCD will get you to the deep switch settings. Or you can flip the dip swich 1 (you have to acces the board of of course).
Disappointment from a AliExpress purchase? I would have been surprised if you were happy with your purchase. Sadly you knew the risk and still took the bait. Thank you for doing this review it's good for others to see and not make the same mistake, myself included.
I've had plenty of times I've ordered things and been happy with them off of Aliexpress, including from this seller. It's not going into it knowing you will be dissappointed, it's rolling the dice. I previously purchased 2 neo geo items from this seller in the past few months that were 100% worth it. I went into it with the faith they hadn't done me wrong last 2 purchases, why would this one be any different... But there is always a chance.
Heres an idea Call me crazy if you want to. Download an emulator.
Some experiences just can't be replicated. Especially if you played an actual AES and MVS cabs back in the day.
