A tour of Route 66 sites in Springfield, Illinois! First off, a visit to a portion of Brick 66 in Auburn, Illinois. In Springfield, we'll visit historic portions of the road, Mahan's Gas Station, a 1968 Lincoln Statue, Charlie Parker's Diner, the Lauterbach Muffler Man, the Cozy Dog Drive-In, and Maldaner's (oldest restaurant on Route 66). Also, a quick trip up to Lincoln, Illinois to see the Railsplitter Covered Wagon and the newly-restored Tropics Dining Room Neon Sign.

We tried driving Route 66 in illinois yesterday. Eventually gave up in frustration with a lack of signs telling us where it was or where it would swap over.
