what I like about you guys is that you are very expressive, no filter, honest whether good or bad, and its like watching the video with a bunch of friends even while watching alone..Also you do a deeper analysis of the videos you watch..Rick being a music and I suppose theatre artist as well, he also shares a good comparative analysis with western counterparts of art..90% of the time, Rick speaks my mind.. you guys are so passionate and have a real respect for art..
RIck & Korbin... You just witnessed the cultural diversity of India at its best... This is what makes INDIA so beautiful and awesome... I have watched it so many times but still, it gives me chills.
Yet I believe it's only a small portion of the diversity. Each state has its unique taste. But ofcourse Amit Trivedi couldn't include all . But good effort by him👍👍

It was one of the first that some music director had tried to represent the different music cultures in such a way... Hope we'll get to see more of these...

Usually Amit Trivedi is compared with A. R. Rahman but I would not go with that approach.
Rather i would put it like this.
When Rahman came into the industry, he brought sounds that were unheard of and it was unique and the same uniqueness was given by Amit Trivedi when he composed his 1st album of DevD and in his later projects.
He is a very underrated and immensely talented composer from India.

Third song (sound of rajasthan) was a famous folk song,
Fourth song (sound of mahatashtra by old lady) you should know it is from English Vinglish!
Fifth song (sound of gujarat) is a type of song called Shehenayi, which they sing at weddings
Sixth song (sound of south) was a tamil movie song I think?
Seventh song (sound of punjab) is from the movie Queen which you need to watch!
Last song is from Udta Punjab!!!!
And if you finish the video he finishes with a song from the film Dear Zindagi (zindagi means life) (starring SRK and Alia) which is about how to love life!!

Nikhil krishnan I agree with you.. Although it was amazing to listen to.. I am assuming that it was more about sounds or music (musical instruments). But from songs point of view the south India one and Punjab one (powder ki lino ka rakhega ka kaun hisaab) do not represent these regions.. Anyways, it’s always awesome to listen to this..!!
