Bollywood is just hanging by a thread , it has always been shit , Now that great directors like Anurag kashyap are making movies , actors like Nawazuddin siddique are being recognized , thats the only thing bollywood have to show , they have just started what others have been doing for years. Otherwise it is only filled with shit you saw in "student of the year" or the 90s. shit .
Older version was much better. New version looks more like a bollywood fashion show

I had put off listening to the new version and my fears have been confirmed! The old version had sports stars (all kinds not just cricket prakash padukone deepika's dad was in the kannada section i think), film stars, noted music maestros and common people. And I cannot but shed a tear at the end when the kids come together and form the flag!

But new version Marathi is missing and 50% song shoot in our Mumbai which is our Maharashtra capital...this is fucking Bollywood done with our culture...so now we are Marathi first then Indian...

Man !! Sometimes I really feel like crying.. remembering my childhood. Being a 90's person ..this brought back so many memories. There was no internet..no social media..no big TV screens..no multiplexes...no tower like buildings...yet we were happier. No chaos.
There were huge fields to run around...huge gardens.... Almost every household had a garden with mango trees..guava trees.
We knew every family in the neighborhood. Whenever we made some special cuisines we used to distribute in the neighborhood.
We weren't that urbanised..but somehow there was more peace and comfort.

We had no mobile phones but knew where to find somebody we wanted to find. Everyone would be present at the scheduled time and place for a get together. Things were much simpler in those days and people cared about being with people. It is the exact opposite in the current time.
Changes are bound to happen either for good or bad if we are good enough then we will be back with our glorious days

The older version is a true representation of India as a country. Actual people from different states feature, making it a wholesome representation. The newer version is more like "India = Film actors + a bunch of other people".

It gives me goosebumps when the bangla part " Tomar sur moder sur shrishti koruk oikko sur" comes. I remember loving this as a kid when it came on Doordarshan. ( the old one, the new one isn't good). Now after such a long time I listened to it again through your channel. Now that I stay in the UK, the bangla part makes me tear up.
