Context:
A lover telling the beloved what he means to her and how his love has made her very happy
and how his playful love has brought her heart alive.
Meaning of the song:
Lover asks her beloved "Chaudhary" (a title of a man from ethnic clans of Rajasthan/Haryana
who owns lands) to not test her patience anymore, but to meet her soon. As she is desperate
to meet him and show him how happy she is and how his love has become the thread of her
very being. She exultingly compares herself to the light, of the moon, that he is, telling him
that her heart is in a trance, ever since he has come into her life. She says that he has got her
hook, line, and sinker and playfully tells him that she understands all his tricks, as to how he
did that. She lures him to have Daal-Bhaati (a sweet dish) that she has especially prepared for
him, just so that she can see him again. She says that she has filled the dish with lot of Ghee
(butter) to add to the taste, just as his love has beautifully brightened her very being.

What I want to say is Indian folk songs are much better than today's English music. Aren't they?
That's true mate but slowing the possitivity of Indian music is declining because most of the singers , they just do the remake of the old hit songs and nothing creative from their side
Every genre is beautiful, to be honest. I love Indian classical, Indian folk, western classical, hip hop, rap, pop, country, folk, latin, etc. I think what sets songs apart is the dedication of artists and the time put in. But in the world of commercialisation and instant gratification, a huge majority demands songs instantly. Lot of classical music be it Indian or western demands years and years of rigorous training. A lot of people don't have either luxury of resources or patience to see it through, so good songs are few and far in between in a sea of mediocre songs. It wasn't as if bad songs were not produced back in time but only the most legendary songs survive the test of time. Thankfully. That's why Amit Trivedi is in league of those music composers who choose their projects very carefully, and more often than not their music is pretty awesome. But the catch is not a whole lot of people listen to it. Look at the views of some average song and this masterpiece. Somewhere majority of listeners also lack patience to listen and understand a song. That's what I think.😊
I’m guessing this is an exchange between either 2 lovers or a parent-child. It’s open to interpretation. But I’m pretty sure that the singer is a female - references to sari and ghee (for cooking. ) are made. But pretty much these two parties involved are playing hide and seek, and the one of them is saying not to play hide and seek with her and not to mess with her. It's been 9 years since the release of this masterpiece and still listening to it. Every single time when you listen to it and close your eyes, you are transposed to the gorgeous desert landscape of Rajasthan. Hats off to Amit Trivedi, truly one of the most underrated composers.
