Overland Ford Expedition on 37s !!!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 жов 2021
- The Kingdom Ford Expedition got 37 inch Maxxis RAZR MT ! We have turned this Ford Expedition into a off-roading machine! We did quite a bit of trimming in the front and a minimal amount on the rear fenders. This is not a how-to video as I am most definitely not a professional, but I have shown in this video that it can be done! And this will be amazing for our future overlanding and offroading adventures!
Let me know what you think!! Feel free to comment with an questions or follow me on Instagram for even more details!

...not sure how much life is left in my Expedition...Yours is sooo cool...eye LOVE it!
🤣🤣💯
Absolutely beast of a rig, talk about luxury overlanding! What a great way to make memories with the family!
Agreed!! Haha its a ton of fun!
This dude is BADASS!!! I had to subscribe!!! Now that's how you build an Expedition 😁😁😁 I've got a 2012 Expy, and there's nothing available, except strut spacers, to lift it!!
Awesome!! Thank you! Yeah the aftermarket support sucks
Keep me posted on those tires. I had them on my rig and they lasted like 19,000 miles but I ran 40s. Great Rack
Thats not terrible , our KO2s just lasted 25k . Thanks !!! Hopefully we'll get to do another trip together soon
Great work, Brother. Love the progress and update. Your rig is coming alive and eating up the trails. On a side note you are SOOOOO Close to 1,000 Subs11 So awesome, you got this! - Nate
Yessss we are soo loving it!! haha yes so close to a thousand! Watch hours are pretty close too 👌
Really cool to see another Expedition out there looking like yours. It’s awesome you are doing something original vs. what everybody else is doing (Toyota stuff). My 2009 pales but has 285/70 r17s and I need get out on the trails!
It's super fun!! Can't believe more people don't !
Niiiiiiiicccceeeeee!! Fx4 ?
When I went from 35's to 37's on my 08 JKRU I had to do a bunch of stuff to get it to work. Fenders gone, new springs, bump stops, rim spacers yeah it was ton of work would think 2" bigger would not be such a problem it was. Still rubs here and there I cut my plastic inner fenders I didn't have to remove them like yours didn't want water getting up into the wires. Aftermarket Ball joints, Trussed the front D44 axle, Steering gear sector shaft brace.
Love your build
💪💪 Thanks!
Very cool I really like it 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks 👍
That thing is an Animal on 37s!!
Definitely gives the Expedition a different look!!!!
Nice build! Hope to see more overlanding upgrade in the future!
💪💪💯
Awesome! That's a dram built.
Agreed! A ton of fun!
Keep it up. Love the look
Thank you!!
Love the look of it my man, just only if for built that expedition form the factory.
Ik !!! Guess we'll just have to settle for the Timberline next winter 🤦♂️
this is a great build bud!
💪 Thank you !
Love your Expy!! What size lift are you running?
Thank you! We love it, 2" Icon lift. I did swap out the rear coils to better accommodate the additional weight
Hell yeah bro you definitely need mt 37’s to drive on some dirt roads and some pebbles to crawl over. All the gear and no idea
👍👍
Excelente 🔥🔥🔥🙏
💯💯💯
Badass💪💪💪
Thanks !!
Interesting. Custom fender liners should be in order.
Yes for sure next !! 💯
This is the first video that I have watched of your channel. Be sure to carry spare steering tie rod ends so that you don't end up like the new Bronco's with the wobbly front end steering linkage damage, especially with the large tires.
Haha the repair kit keeps growing!
Probably larger tie rods on the larger SUV's I could be wrong is the F-150 the same front end?
Pretty much 👍 RPG makes some pretty sweet upgraded tie rods
Very nice I have a 98 lifted on 20 and 33s and I'm a professional disc golfer wanting to set it up for overland .. I started with a H3 those are junk lol il stick to my ford and parts are very cheap and available..
Haha exactly!!
Be interesting to see how long all the independent suspension will hold up to the weight of those 37s.
Most definitely!! It's already got 77k miles total and about 20k miles on the Icon suspension, definitely should be interesting
@@kingdomoverlanding good to hear! I’m a Ford guy and love those new Expeditions.
Awesome , they are bomb! 440 HP on the Timberline haha
Should be okay but even with cut fenders probably be stuffing those tires into something when Offroad always rubs at some point when wheeling. IRS doesn't have the ball joint issues Heeps have my JK when I went to 37's ball joints lasted 6 months all the weight rides on the bottom. The only weak point might be the CV axle I would keep a spare if do any serious wheeling in rocks. If just driving dirt roads and streets no issues mostly in 2WD anyway.
@@Mike-01234 Yeah will definitely upgrade the tie rods and cvs at some point 👍
I was hunting through your videos to figure out what lift you have.
Icon Suspension 2.5" 👍
Razr m/t is a badass tire for sure. I run them on my tahoe... but they aint 37s! Lol. Love the rig too!
Oh niiccee! Do you do some camping out of your Tahoe ??
@@kingdomoverlanding we do! Currently have a 3 week old though so it'll probably be spring before we get back after it. My wife has the expedition max as well now so we'll probably end up using it more moving forward. We'll see tho... i LOVE my ole tahoe 😂
Haha awesome 💯 What size RAZRs are you using on the Tahoe ?
@@kingdomoverlanding just 265 75 r 16s. Its stock height for now. Still doubles as my landscaping truck until i get this box truck done.
Looking at going with a 6.5" bds lift and 35" maxxis trepadors when it retires from work duties though. After that kills the trans im gonna swap to a 4l80e and probably supercharge the 5.3 if its still healthy enough.
That would be so cool to see w Tahoe on treps 💯💯
Hey, I may have missed this, but are you running a leveling or lift kit? I drive a 1998 Expedition and want to keep my roll center as low as possible while maximizing ground clearance, so I want to run 37s with the lowest leveling kit possible. I'm going to "super high maritime" cut my fenders, get some 17×9" wheels with 0 or -12mm offset, and 2" or 3" wheel adaptors for clearance and stability.
By the way, your Expedition looks SICK!
Awesome! Not too certain on that gen but I have a 2.5" icon suspension left , remote resis and billeted UCA. Ended up upgrading the rear coils to a higher spring rate to accommodate the kitchen in the back and 37s. Trimmed 3.5" off the front fender 0 offset on my wheels.
@@kingdomoverlanding Dope. Thank you so much. By the way, what spring rate did your Expedition come with and what did you upgrade it to? How does it ride at high speeds? And is there a lot of body roll going slow over trail obstacles?
@@kingdomoverlanding Did you get the high spring rate coils from ICON? I have the same suspension on my 17 Expy and I notice some sag in the rear from all my gear.
Don't quote remember the stock spring rate but right now I'm at 600 front and 750 rear . Body roll is not noticeable on the trail can be on the highway. Took off both sway bars
Just picked up a set of Eibachs from a local Offroad shop which is what Icon sells. $140 for 2 springs 750#
What trim level did you buy the car?
Limited
Do you know what the current gearing ratio is? And any plans to regear higher in the future?
No regearing plans, with the 10 speed transmission we still have a ton of power 👍 and mpg isn't horrendous 13mpg
Can you tell the lift your using and shocks? Like your exp
2.5" Icon Suspension lift 👍 Thank you!
What Bumper is that? Is that a raptor replica or just a raptor bumper? I have a 21 Fx4 Sdition my self but cant find anything on replacement bumpers.
Raptor bumper off of Ebay 👍👍 pretty much lines right up. You'll have to drill some bolt holes and use some spacers to get it to line up clean. Took longer to trim the plastic. Awesome upgrade for an FX4
I wouldn't mount a winch to it. But could easily handle some upgraded fog lights
Where did you get that roof rack?
I sell them on my website 💪
what lift are you running, looking to lift mine?
Icon 2.5" suspension lift 👍
Was wondering did you have to put any lift on it to clear the 37s for turning and steering? Or for flex?
We are staying with our 2.5" Icon suspension lift 👍 there is very very minimal rubbing
I have a 1998 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer edition and I continue to break my front cv axles over and over again. Any tips? Or should I bite the bullet and do a solid axle swap
What kind of lift and tires are you running?
@@kingdomoverlanding I’m running 37s by 13 wide I believe and I have a 3 inch lift but it’s just blocks so for whatever reason the angle is too much for my cv joints I even broke one installing it
That'll do it , tough with a body lift
What year is this FEx
2018 👍
NOT refine,, not detail cutting,,, you can do something better,,,,after cutting,,,
