I have been enjoying this for about 2 months before finding your video. I didn't know there was a country making this dish, and that it is called pot bake. I did not learn it from anyone, I just made it on my own and loved it, so I kept making it.
I have to jump on here and say that this recipe is outstanding and near fool-proof! I’ve made it a few times and it came out perfect every time. I mixed this by hand and used Cookeen and I used a mixture of butter and coconut oil in the pan when cooking. Real comfort food. Thank you.

My grandmother used to make this with coconut. She used the milk to knead the flour and added some of the grated coconut in the dough. Eat it hot with some Kerrygold butter and cheddar cheese.

I followed the instructions with the exception of using Cookeen in the pot. I used a little bit of Canola oil. The finished product was crispy on the outside but cooked and soft on the inside. Perfect. I will certainly use this recipe again. Great video.
My dad did too. He mixed the dough by hand threw it in a cast iron frying pan and shaped it to the pan put a lid on it and baked it in the oven. All my family my grammar and uncles and aunts did it this way. My grammar would have called it a large fry bake done on the stove. But this recipe looks very good will be making it.

Great recipe. I quite like the alternative method of roasting the bakes directly on an open coal fire. Of course you have to monitor the roasting process closely, to ensure that it cooks evenly and also to prevent charring.
I was looking at your roast bake my mom was from Paramain she and her family makes the best roast bake its supposed to be thicker than that, you can even bake it in the oven. coconut bake is delicious also.

Try kneading the flour more like make for 5 mins and a little bit of oil.

Sooooo i made this back and it came out soft and nice how ever as it got cold it got reall hard it didnt remain soft
I split my dough in half before letting it rest so it is easier when ready to cook.
