Well Done CJ, you managed to keep your calm. After the site guy was so "Helpful" I have been there myself, in London, nobody has a second to spare to assist you. One memory that springs out to me, was when we're dropping porta cabins off at Liverpool Street Station. They were a multi-storey site office block. And had to come off in the right order. Mine was number 6. And somehow I arrived when it should have been number 4. So their solution was. Just park up down the road. And we will give you a shout when we are ready for you! Where the Hell is their space to park an artic with a cabin on in central London. Talk about stress...
I tip my hat to you good sir....the last time I drove in London was about 15years ago and back then it was a bloody nightmare so well done you are the man💩👊🏻
Mate, you've just driven my worst nightmare! LONDON!! I hate the madness of it. Well done for not using adult descriptive expletives! Well on camera anyhow! Give me spaghetti junction on a Friday afternoon rather than London. Even I felt relieved when you were on the m25! Well done bud, you've earned a ice cold larger!🍻
I know what driving around London is like in an artic & understand the pressure that can build up inside even on a good day. You have my respect for keeping calm m8😉
That's London for you. Glad I got out of there 50 years ago. It was bad enough then driving a bus in the West End and the City. Keep up the good work. M
50 years ago... back when they all used to jump in the back corner I assume.... 🦃💩 A bus nearly took my bloody mirror off squeezing up the inside only to stop within 200m of the lights
" jump in the back corner" Yes, and on the front corner on the early single deckers. One day I got pulled over by a driving inspector, in Trafalgar Square, for "cutting up" the traffic, after leaving a bus stop. Im on the left traffic on my right tuning left and I need to go right!! He said I should have waited for a gap. In Trafalgar Square, yeh right. Still, I never took a mirror off, or anything else. :-) Safe driving and happiness to you and yours. M
I admire your patience CJ. I drive in London regularly and appreciate the relief when you leave. I'm a courier and have to go there quite a bit but the trepidation is always there. As for assistance!!! Forget it mate, most I'll mannered and unhelpful t....s in the country. You done good mate, love the vloggs.
That brought me out in a cold sweat Chris,I used to do London regularly, and I hate to admit it,I've been on the verge of tears on a couple of occasions 😱...those steel bollards on most street corners are killers in an 18 tonner 😤
little tip in london mate I've done all the sites and had that very response the best thing to do is block the job get out lock up and go onto the site to find someone that does give a shit they soon care when they can't get on . shithole it is I hated going down to that hole my mate had a good name for it the BOG and the M25 is the seat .also hat off to you mate London is not the place to find yourself when you suffer anxiety .
I'm a regular cyclist and everytime i see a truck wanting to turn left i always stay behind it and never go up the inside of it. I guess some people just don't give a fuck and have a death wish. I can see why some truckers hate delivering too London.
I can't say I hate it as it's a good way to brush up on your skills, because you get given 0 room to maneuver and 0 patience to maneuver. I almost had mirror took our by a bus only for him to stop 100m up the road (I hope his ear is still ringing from my horn)
Being based in Braintree and delivering spiderlifts, I spend a lot of my time delivering into London and I can safely say that if it wasn’t for the fact my plan is to move to New Zealand permantly in the next few years, I’d be planning on moving to another area of the UK, or getting a different job to get away from London. The place is a sure fire way to end up having a heart attack. Everyone is bloody horrible, everything is a struggle and it’s an absolute nightmare every time.
Thanks for watching Shane, I couldn't don't everyday. Could I have stayed on the a10 or was I right to turn right there? I delivered to one crown place near Finsbury Circus
CJACEY-TRUCKS You were right to turn, there’s a 7.5limit at Kingsland High Street. I had a few deliveries/collections to Broadgate tower earlier this year, which is the tower you looked at just before you turned left and then went round a right bend to your delivery on the right.
great vid cj. jaz i was eat'n the tablets here just looking @ it.. luke vernon had vid of him multi droping in london @ nigth unreal.. fairplay to ye...
Great vid mate and no disrespect to anyone from London but after the times i have delivered there i would not miss it if i never saw it again hell hole of a place
Good video mate I must admit you are very calm in London I'm usealy ok till the horns start blowing. I find it almost impossible to stay in my seat. But fair play to you bruv Liked & subscribed keep em coming.
Bloody hell man.... I was getting proper agitated watching you drive through London. Dog eat dog comes to mind.... Well done. Oh and btw, at 1.03 mins you said 'geddon' . Youm cud be a janner (Plymothian) speaking like that pal. Haha. Geddon👍
Absolutely frightening brother but a fantastically entertaining video dude ! Mate you must have bollocks made of solid titanium bro ! Damn good video !
Thank you Mark, there's plenty more where that came from on my channel. Had another London vlog this week actually.... a 2 part special (or 3 of you count the TLDR Version )
I used to commute to London for nineteen years. I used to go by train from Kent. But when I got to London the traffic was bad then, must be even more horrendous now. Saw a video from a street cctv. A lady went up the inside of a lorry, the driver never saw the cyclist, turned left and she went under the lorry and was killed.
You really should treat yourself to a proper Truck Sat Nav mate. I love my Garmin Dezl. I still use Google Maps for traffic on occasion (You can't beat it for that) but having a sat nav with all the height and weight limits programmed in is brilliant.
I think when your lense got steamed up it was caused by the steam coming out of your ears lol it agrivates me driving in places like that.but still a good video cj
A couple of years ago I had one steel beam to deliver to a site in central London. I waited my turn, but because my office hadn't booked me in, they wouldn't tip me, even though they were waiting for it and the tower crane was doing nothing. Muppets. Not sure if they ever had it delivered, I certainly didn't do it.
Good work mate! I too deliver in my artic into london and quite enjoy it! The thing I find is to get a proper truck sat nav. Put in your height, weight, length, width and let it work out the best and legal route. Then TRUST IT! Don't go off piste or you'll find low bridges or weight restrictions. Also before you start you can check which way in your going therefore plan to arrive and reverse on your good side if possible. Then you can relax, enjoy the drive and wind up idiot car drivers! - happy days!!
parked up in a tesco car park, it looked as tho you may have gone past it on your way out. its in barking off the north circular a406 just slightly north of the A406/A13 interchange. i was going to sleep in the van. but booked into the premier inn for £29 its too cold in the van tonight.
I take my hat off to anybody who drives in London (or anywhere in Britain for that matter). Ridiculously narrow streets (even in Milton Keynes!). I'm used to Australian roads, much wider and truck friendly. The benefits of living in a city twice the size of Metro London but with 1/10th the population.
Well g'day sir and welcome to the channel. I do the same to you as I think driving those straight, hard and unchanging roads through the outback is equally as challenging. If you have facebook please send in a pic of your rig #cjaceyvlogs Oh btw do you drive the road trains?
principal place lol i work there and i f**king hate it. been doing construction work for about 12 years and it is awful now. im just waiting for my provisional to come back from the dvla then i can start my training and start driving.
Hi Jim and welcome to the channel. Do you literally work on the site I delivered to? I have a small playlist aimed at new drivers called trailathought you may like. Let me know if you like them and when you pass too 🖒
You truck to Newquay in Cornwall? pretty sure you do coz I seem to recognise a comment from you on Mark Dring's channel if I'm not mistaken. Correct me if I'm wrong
Is that accent West Bromwich ? Sometimes drive to Lambeth and London city so feel your pain. At least I get given a map Ito follow. I don't think I could it if like you your just given an address and left to find your own way , with weight limits, low Bridges s etc
To be honest just giving an extra foot or so before turning generally covers it and keeping an eye on people up the inside before turning too as you could inadvertently catch them as you swing out. I guess it's something only experience teaches you, you train to judge how wlfar our they'll kick. It's not as severe as it may seem though.
im a bus driver i give all respets to you artic lorry drivers at least my 35-40ft bus is one rigid vehicle where you bassicly drive trailers the size of my bus on a pivit (towing) i can but wouldnt like to drive in london & as for cycles even down south here they come up the side near or outer side thats why im always in my mirorrs especially when making a turn as they just dont look understand or dont give a shit grrr just like stradling lanes as the road to narrow for the size of are vehicles with anoither car just wont fit i got beeped often for this when all i say i do this for there safety as well as my own .
CJACEY-TRUCKS nice one, you did well in London, I always hated it. Even worse when I was on coaches and getting lost with 53 people sitting behind me lol.
On my old stomping ground there at Liverpool St when I worked on the railway. I drive HGVs occasionally, thankfully not had to go to Central London yet but do a lot around the north and South circulars, that's scary enough. I worked with a bloke who once parked his truck across the entrance to a site, took his keys out and sat on the roof of his cab blocking everything until they agreed to tip him.
OMG right I like ur videos I don't know how I found them keep doing them I twinge Everytime someone passes ya.im also trying to figure out how you guys go to truck stops and get fuel.
I live in Australia (drive on the left) but have often driven in Germany, the US and Canada. It's actually not a strange sensation (driving on the opposite side) after the first few hours.
It looks a lot more dangerous for cyclists there (London) when they're foolish enough to come up on your left side because the driver's position is on the right rather than the left as in the U.S. and Canada
Well Done CJ, you managed to keep your calm. After the site guy was so "Helpful" I have been there myself, in London, nobody has a second to spare to assist you. Yeah, not to mention the driving time that were limited to. Thanks for sharing the memory... 🖒
I tip my hat to you good sir....the last time I drove in London was about 15years ago and back then it was a bloody nightmare so well done you are the man💩👊🏻

Not got any... I'll bank it for Friday though

Cheers and welcome sharky
Another undervalued Hgv driver..not for the faint hearted
Thanks, plenty more to come in the new year

Well me knowing how loud Truck horns are or can be, I would imagine they are. :)

Awesome cheers. I've a horrible feeling I may have popped down a wrong road earlier on but only time will tell.
Great video CJ. Could tell the stress levels was going up a couple of notches. Well done buddy keeping your cool.
Cheers Matt 🖒

Big up from Sweden! This is impressing. My route is like "a walk in the park" compare to this, mate.

Welcome to the channel Bradley and thanks for the comment. I like the challenge going into London but wouldn't like it everyday.
You really should treat yourself to a proper Truck Sat Nav mate. I love my Garmin Dezl. I still use Google Maps for traffic on occasion (You can't beat it for that) but having a sat nav with all the height and weight limits programmed in is brilliant.
Might ask santa for one.
I think when your lense got steamed up it was caused by the steam coming out of your ears lol it agrivates me driving in places like that.but still a good video cj
Hehe yeah I wouldn't be surprised tbh.
Sorry to see all those cars cutting you off. As Jeremy Clarkson once said, "Always let the lorry go."
Hey Connor welcome to the channel. I'll have to look that up. Did he say it in the top gear where they drove hgv's ?
I wouldn't know what to do with a 45' trailer.. LOL Haven't driven one of those in years.
Good to se Cinderella is fixed
🖒
Welcome to London. Home of the unpredictable.
I know right! 😁🖒

Awesome.
parked up in a tesco car park, it looked as tho you may have gone past it on your way out. its in barking off the north circular a406 just slightly north of the A406/A13 interchange. i was going to sleep in the van. but booked into the premier inn for £29 its too cold in the van tonight.

Gotta learn to drive in 'Attack Mode' when you go to the hateful place that is London !! If they get under your wheels...tough.
Yeah
I remember why I hated London well done
great work. drive safe buddy
Cheers Mark
You too

Not the site you delivered to principal place the huge tower that is 50 floors high. Thanks i will check out the playlist.
I Admire your driving skill top job
Cheers Yorkie 🖒🦃💩
You truck to Newquay in Cornwall? pretty sure you do coz I seem to recognise a comment from you on Mark Dring's channel if I'm not mistaken. Correct me if I'm wrong
Yeah I watch him too. Went to Newquay last week 🖒
As anyone ever told you you sound a bit like Kenneth Williams, Carry On Driver.
Nope, so you can be the first to...🦃💩
Your not a trucker unless you've been to central London in an artic. Congratulations 😁😁😁.
Yay 🖒🦃💩
Well done; with your delivery in London; but, I am sure, you would say, it is no different than driving a car, for you? Take Care!
I think they expect a car to be making the delivery in some places! Thanks
Been there done that! Hate it!!!!
Hehe... 💩
Is that accent West Bromwich ? Sometimes drive to Lambeth and London city so feel your pain. At least I get given a map Ito follow. I don't think I could it if like you your just given an address and left to find your own way , with weight limits, low Bridges s etc
Hi and welcome James. I'm from Wolverhampton matey nut haven't got a massively distinct accent. I have google maps and a low bridge truckers atlas
Good effort mate, how do you deal with tail swing? Is it really noticeable?
To be honest just giving an extra foot or so before turning generally covers it and keeping an eye on people up the inside before turning too as you could inadvertently catch them as you swing out. I guess it's something only experience teaches you, you train to judge how wlfar our they'll kick. It's not as severe as it may seem though.
No way I'd make these turns in a conventional truck. Tight AF.
Now Cinderella thinks she's unconventional, took me am hour to get her to work with me this morning!
CJACEY are you on facebook by any chance? And oh bloody london every truckers worst nightmare, the city that never sleeps
Fb and instagram. I put link in every description and it pops up at end of each video.
#cjaceyvlogs
Sweet I will add you after if thats ok
It's a page 🖒 300 ish likes
London is the place to be...............................if you are a tourist, not a truck driver pff, terrible place.

im a bus driver i give all respets to you artic lorry drivers at least my 35-40ft bus is one rigid vehicle where you bassicly drive trailers the size of my bus on a pivit (towing) i can but wouldnt like to drive in london & as for cycles even down south here they come up the side near or outer side thats why im always in my mirorrs especially when making a turn as they just dont look understand or dont give a shit grrr just like stradling lanes as the road to narrow for the size of are vehicles with anoither car just wont fit i got beeped often for this when all i say i do this for there safety as well as my own .
Cheers Timothy thanks for watching. I've daily vlogged for almost 2 years now if you care to check out anymore videos.... have a great weekend
Can I ask what about your camera setup please?
Just a cheap sj 2k camera with the usual mounts for dash, head etc. (It's a go pro style camera)
The barnacle? Did you mean the gherkin?
Haha lol that's it!
CJACEY-TRUCKS nice one, you did well in London, I always hated it. Even worse when I was on coaches and getting lost with 53 people sitting behind me lol.
Hehe, well at least 53 potential navigators for you.
Nice... second person to mention doing that in the comments lol.
What time do you get home Friday hope they don't leave you to long
Made it home about 9:40
I’m a truck driver too in the USA but if they put me to drive a truck in London I probably wreck
Welcome to the channel buddy
Sweet jesus they would drive over the top of you over there if you sat still long enough
I'm a USA driver I don't know how you drive on right side of vehicle
It's crazy isn't it :)
OMG right I like ur videos I don't know how I found them keep doing them I twinge Everytime someone passes ya.im also trying to figure out how you guys go to truck stops and get fuel.
Same way you do over there buddy. Only not in gorgeous huge semis
I live in Australia (drive on the left) but have often driven in Germany, the US and Canada. It's actually not a strange sensation (driving on the opposite side) after the first few hours.
London is a bloody awful place for trucks.
Not the best
How is Stoneybridge?

Yes U R right. I never thought about that.
