Dragon Ball Z is a staple in the anime genre. It features a young Saiyan from outer space named Goku, who comes to earth and trains in Martial Arts with master Roshi. Before long, he becomes a Super Saiyan and ends up saving the Earth on numerous occasions. But despite Goku’s power level, he’s actually only taken out two people in the whole entirely of Dragon Ball Z! Think about that. There are a whole bunch of other secrets out there for Dragon Ball fans to uncover, such as is it right to say “over 9000” or is there another way to say it and how old are Buu and Master Roshi? The answer is very old. Goku’s known to scream a lot when powering up, but what does all that yelling do to the English language voice over actor? Well, one might pass out! And where did series creator Akira Toriyama get the inspiration in creating one of the greatest anime villains ever? Well, Frieza actually can find his origins in the real estate bubble of the 1980s in Japan. How about that. Speaking of Frieza, his first fight with Goku is long, like almost as long as Return of the King extended cut long! So when it’s a rainy day outside and you have nothing else to do, watching the entire four hour fight might be a worthy distraction. Oh, and there’s a reason for Krillin’s random dots on his head. Turns out, they’re incense burns from when he trained as a monk! How about that.

The Frieza fight was actually supposed to be the final battle for Goku, that's why it was so long. Akira Toriama actually wanted to end the show there, but due to fan backlash he decided to continue the story

If you're a DBZ fan, and you don't know about, or haven't seen Dragonball Z Abridged (DBZA) on UA-cam by a channel called TeamFourStar, you are doing life wrong.
They were forced to stop at the Cell Games, but until that last episode of DBZA, the comical fanmade re-dub is truly a great addition to Dragon Ball Z.
I'm a huge, immense, and large Dragon Ball Z fan so I knew all of these facts
Did you know… the Red Ribbon Army was funded and supplied by Capsule Corp the question of who funded such a massive army with weapons and robot machinery was an elephant in the room.
It’s a known fact that DR Gero DR Frap DR Wheelo and DR Brief we’re friends or at least known associates Bulma slips that up on a few occasions one comes to mind in the android saga where she makes eye contact with Giro to which they both recognise each other and Giro even almost looks spooked for a second she tries to cover this up with the claim she recognised him from one of her dads science magazines but she also conveniently knows where his “secret” lab is located and Giro knows she knows this too.
You also see throughout dragon ball Z that weapons such as machine guns and rocket launchers were labelled with capsule corp logos why would a scientist be in the business of arms dealing? The red ribbon army had robot exoskeletons all thought Giro was the android expert DR Brief was the machine expert before Giro moved onto Bio mechanical androids. Coincidentally all though Capsule Corp and Red Ribbon Army were seen as rivals DR Brief sure did become extremely wealthy and expanded Capsule Corp into all sectors of life similar to how the red ribbon army tried to before they was defeated did he have an insurance policy knowing Goku would eventually catch up with them?
Ps Dr Brief and his wife seem to be the only 2 characters in the show that don’t seem to age despite the DR smoking 100 cigarettes a day and the only line his wife has is “would you like some tea”

Actually the gt saga is apart of dbz.the creaters of dbz turned it into an alternate timeline from the majin buu saga just like the future trunks+android saga,and even the future trunks goku black saga.they did that so it would tie all the dbz together.

That Guy. The music is trash, the dubbing goes for mass similarities with the manga which isn't bad but the execution needs improvement, some voices are just off. If you like it that's cool but I like the original funi dub.. And before you say that I'm a nostalgia junkie, I'm not, I actually only started watching dbz about 2 years ago. So that argument is invalid.

Don't forget that Majin Buu has existed since the beginning of time. Only Innocent Buu was merged 5 million years ago. So besides the angels, he's the oldest character in the franchise.

Goku isn't actually merciful, he does it so that he has a chance to fight them at an even higher level .
The reason I thought Goku was 34 years old was because Bulma was 38 years old at the start of Super. Bulma is 4 years older than Goku because it was stated that at the beginning of Dragon Ball that Goku was 12 and Bulma was 16.
Most of these are widely known... The only one that I didn't know was that the voice actor for Goku passed out while screaming to become a Super Saiyan 4.

Lunch was NOT a major character before Z. It only appears like that in the U.S. because they started dubbing Z and only dubbed the previous series many years later. Lunch was a side character...sort of a comic relief. The series worked perfectly fine even without her.

The thing that I don't understand is how can the animator just forget about launch when she is one of the main characters in Dragon Ball.
The "It's over 9000" meme got popular because of Brian Drummonds voice over for Vegeta saying that line not Sabats.
Type it in and watch Ocean dubs Vegeta saying "it's over nine thouSAAAAAAND" then you'll understand why it became a meme.
The brazilian version is 8000 too and it's iconic. "É de mais de 8000!"

Dude the over 9,000 was a mistake in the ocean dub ! The voice actor for vegeta accidentally said it’s over 9,000 instead of 8,000 . That’s why it was changed
Christopher sabat said the reason vegeta said over 9000 in the original Z was because over 8000 didn't match the lip flaps at that time. Thankfully the problem was fixed in kai (for legitimacy purposes of course. Not favorable purposes)
Goku only kills if they are a true threat to his planet. Beerus does not count. Don't go adding cell either, cell just wanted to show the universe how perfect he was. :)
