Amy, Perhaps if God answered this particular prayer the way you want, you might become complacent in your faith. Maybe your current thinking keeps you humble, hungry and obedient. Just a thought.
My assurance comes from the word of God. He said He would never lose me or cast me out. If you look to your life to prove salvation you will never have it.
I think it’s an attack from the enemy to draw us into self introspection in our desire for confirmation. It’s the ultimate distraction from Christ and leads to a deep despair where we are increasingly more vulnerable to the temptations of the flesh.
@@liljs4189 Well said. I have seen Christians attacked by demons, often via false spirituality, and all of us, in our fleshly selves are subject to the worldly elements of which Satan, I suppose, is lord. For this reason, we need to abide in Christ, taking heart that He has "overcome the world." And the trials of our faith produce gold. Amen!
Could someone pray for me I have struggled with this for years and have had Great Depression because of this It’s never about walking away from God Like the disciples said “Lord where would we go , you have the words of eternal life “ I long for assurances not to just gain heaven or escape Hell but to be with the one who loves me and made me for himself
Lets pray for each other. I'm on the same boat as you, my friend. There is nothing more scary than the thought of being abandoned by God because of our sins. I'm praying for you, friend. God bless you and I hope and pray you find the answer you're looking for. Don't listen to the voice of satan. Listen to the Word of God. Facts over feelings. Feelings can lead us in so many directions and often fail us into falsehood. Focus on the truth of the gospel. Repent, apologise, and continue to do so. HAVE FAITH THAT CHRIST SAVES. YOU DON'T SAVE YOURSELF. CHRIST SAVES YOU!
The Fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If you two are truly concerned then do not worry but humble yourself before God. The desire to serve God and turn from your sins isn't a natural thing. The Word of God says no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws them. Do this with the decision to really follow Him. Don't over think this, it isn't rocket science. A tree will be known by its fruit.
Yep, been there, because of some sinful life choices. Praise God that He brought me through. One of the main things that helped me was to search for Bible verses which told me who I am in Christ, underline them in my Bible, and read them out loud to myself. I did this every time I suffered those doubts, but if I'd known what I know now, I wouldn't have waited for the doubts to surface, but would have spoken Scripture over myself every day until I had victory. (And even beyond.) I'll give you a list of some of the references I used: John 5:24 John 6:37- 40, 44-45, 47, 51, 57 John 8:31-32 John 10:9, 14, 28-29 John 11:25-26 John 14:19b-20 John 17:3 John 20:30-31 Romans 3:21-22 Romans 5:1-2, 8, 11 Romans 8:35-39 2Corinthians 10:3-5 Galatians 3:13 Ephesians 2:4-9 Ephesians 6:10-11 1Peter 5:8 1John 2:1-2, 25-26 1John 4:9-10, 15-16 1John 5:1, 11, 13. I hope you find these helpful. There is nothing that can take the place of renewing the mind by saturating it with the Word of God! Don't forget, we have an adversary who is relentless in his war against our minds, because if he can get us to doubt, he can discourage us. Discouragement is deadly to our spirits, so use the Word to resist the devil and don't let him suck you in by his lies. God bless you!😊👍
@@Chupie77777 I've posted a list of scriptures to help combat the lies of the devil that I think will help you. So, check out the comment section for them. God bless you!
I find it helpful when I read Luke 17:3-4: "Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” I find it amazing that Jesus gives the scenario of a person who sins against us seven times in a single day. Jesus says nothing about questioning the genuineness of the repentance of the person. You would think, if you've sinned even THREE times saying 'I repent' to God or to a person, you would be questioning if you were really sorry for your sins in the first place and whether or not you are actually genuine about your repentance. Meanwhile, Jesus gives the scenario of the same person sinning against you (in one single day) SEVEN times! And instead of questioning the person's genuineness of his or her repentance, Jesus says that if the person sins against you that much, when they say 'I repent', you still have to forgive them, regardless of how many times, because that's what forgiveness is. Is there truly forgiveness when someone sins against you seven times and starts questioning the person, saying "You've done this seven times, are you actually sorry? Do you even care?" This just shows the limitlessness of God's forgiveness. If Jesus tells us to forgive someone that many times in a single day, how much more will God freely forgive us for the countless numbers of sins we have committed.
Isaiah are you too not an idol worshipper? If not leave your life in this world come to my flesh and obey the spirit through me while I am still in this world
This Is what I needed to hear. From now I on, I will take it as a personal offence against God when I’m reluctant to ask for forgiveness, whatever my reasons may be
It is not about us It is about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us. He is the author and finisher of our faith. Our focus belongs on Jesus Christ and His love for us.
The real issue is that we slap "of sin" after repentance. When we muddy the gospel like you do john you make christians lose assurance. Tell them what the greek translation of repent is john. The bottom line 1 john 5 13 says you can KNOW you will have eternal. John you need to repent from your wicked doctrine. You are commiting the unpardonable sin by blaspheming the gospel.
Thank you for saying that. I need deliverance. I need help. It’s a battle. But I do hope you are right and not just a nice personal assumption. But true.
Only one truth of repentance and that’s from the Greek word metanoia: change of heart/change of mind and that’s when you admite you’re a sinner in need of a savior. You only have to believe that Jesus died for your past present and future sins on the cross of Calvary. You just have to BELIEVE and you’re saved and sealed until the day of redemption you have eternal security in the prescious blood of Jesus only him not by works less any man shall boast nothing you do can earn salvation it’s Jesus and Jesus only period praise God 💜☀️ grace through faith
@@mugabedavid4845 I don't have that either. As an autist I don't usually have a lot of remorse/guilt. Ok, and now someone will come here and say 'I'm an autist and I do have a good consience'. Well, that's great for them, but I know several autists who don't.
If your sin grieves you you are changed by the grace of God. He grants repentance. If you never stop seeking God. You are His child. Focus on what Jesus did for us not what we did for Jesus.
yes I started doing brainstorms so for any negative associating I would come up with 5 or ways of renewings of my mind. Guarantee its the enemy planting that seed in your mind you have to keep digging the garden of your mind until good thoughts florish. One common reason this happens is not enough Thanksgiving. gratitude and anxiety are different parts of the brain and they cant coexist.
If all of this doesn’t work, don’t give up on Christ, but consider digging into Lutheran theology. Maybe start with some of Jordan Cooper’s videos comparing Lutheran vs Reformed on assurance of salvation or his video on “why so many are leaving the young restless and reformed movement”. It could be that a Lutheran understanding is more helpful to you than a Reformed understanding.
I never get tired of Piper. I have one friend who loves Yeshua, but no one as cool as Piper. Desiring God is where it and everything is at. Oh Lord, my most precious heart, we love you so much, as humanly possible. Maranatha Yeshua 🥰
To anyone out there who has just sinned and is doubting if Jesus still loves him or her... always remember that Jesus loves you and he's always going to be right there waiting for you to come back and repent...all you gotta do is get down on your feet,be intentional about it and put in the effort to repent... always remember Jesus loves you❤️
I have been struggling with wondering if I am truly repenting or not, this has helped me see whether or not I am. All praise to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who died so I can live!🙌🙏✝️
It's not about our thousand & one sorries. It is a matter of our free will to truly repent and following God's principles of teaching. Also, what is extremely important is a follow up Bible study. Affirming the decision made. One for new believers.
My problem was, think of God telling you to do something you really feel its hard to do, at the monent you think that it feels like you wouldnt be able to do it, so then you get the feeling that you cannot serve God, thus bringing thoughts like, i am not all out for him, i am not ready. when we should seek repentance and look to Christ I believe. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ
I had this same problem as well!! I don’t even think God was calling me to do something but I was so worried that I wouldn’t be able to IF he was then I started having doubts that I’m not truly saved, etc, etc.
If your redeemed you will grow in repentance.and you will chose to live upright by the power of the Holy Spirit... . Presumptuous sins and habitual sins that’s willfully sinning will have no hold on you . Amen.
I hate how often I get stuck in my mind, it’s like a pool where I’m drowning. I can never get afloat. And doubt is like an anvil around my neck that is just pulling me deeper in my thoughts. I’m always in doubt I apologize but I’m not sure if I’m apologizing. There’s this resistance to change because (I know it sounds childish) but I’m scared. I’ve been hurt by a lot of people who I have my heart to that’s it’s hard to give my heart to God. Yet that statement in it of itself makes no sense cause I know that he would care for me. I know that he won’t treat me like the others. But I can’t get that wall DOWN 😞. It’s almost like I’m hurting God as a way to have that power that was taken from me from those who hurt me. If any brothers and sisters are reading this right now. Can you please pray for me and help me. This double mindedness, this hurt, it’s killing me and weighing me down. Thanks
So that we might test the will of God. Whatever is good, acceptable and perfect. Do the right thing, (10 commandments. The truth of the Gospel and the opposite of the 7 deadly sins), even when it hurts. Even when no one is watching. Above all have Faith. Acknowledge Him in all things and He will make straight your paths.
The bottom line of assurance is making a good repentance to God and He forgives you, gives you the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38), and you have "joy unspeakable and full of glory, Receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls." (1Pet 1:8-9) So what constitutes a good repentance? First, "godly sorrow" for sin (2Cor 7:10). Next is actually hating sin and what it has done to your life. At this point you are ready, in your heart, to repent of the person you are and desire to have a new life. So pray, asking God to forgive and save you! And when you do, He will forgive you and give you a heart that hates sin and loves God -- and that unspeakable joy will come to you with the Holy Spirit "witnessing with your spirit that you are a child of God." (Ro 8:16)
@@5_xmv250 Godly sorrow is a guilty conscience in your soul .. sorrow of the world is simply shame in your mind, your spirit, at knowing you are naked before the whole world. At first, Adam and Eve felt shame and they covered their own sin. But when God came calling, they realized their guilt .. that they could not stand before Him. But they did come so as to be healed, saved spiritually, by Him. The bloody skin that God pt on them reminded them daily that their sin had been forgiven. So do you see .. in your guilt, you must come to the Father for forgiveness, and He will give you Christ, the Holy Spirit, to give you the new birth and assurance that your sins are remitted and your soul is saved.
@@5_xmv250 Godly sorrow comes from the heart and conscience when you realize you have sinned against God .. which is why you can't stand before Him. Rev Job 7:18-20. Job had godly sorrow.
6:25 I feel like I have done exactly that. And I feel like I’m playing the victim. I have tried to repent and see them in true light and I don’t think I can. I have prayed and it hasn’t been answered. I feel truly abandoned like Esau and it is my own fault. Can someone please help me! I want to repent but I just can’t. @@TheV1CT0RY Its ok Brother. I want to get one thing clear, it is that repentance is not a feeling, it is a choice. If you don’t have the Joy of your salvation and feel condemned, you may have grieved the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:30. Grieving the Holy Spirit is making it Grieve because you have gone through a long period of time with unrepentant sin although you are still saved, you don’t feel like it or you don’t have the Joy of your salvation. Brother thank you for being courageous and reaching out. I was in the same boat and sometimes still am. But me back when I made that comment was filled with fear of going to Hell. I know I have to be very careful on what I say, because when I was in that state I read into every little thing. I love you brother. Tell me if this makes you feel better or worse. May God Bless You.
@@ryanarmstrong6512 Thank you brother. Yes i am wrestling with God. Something comforting is the verses before Esau talking about that God disciplines his own children. These last days were filled with terror and fear and maybe it is God who is disciplining me to bring me out greater than i was before. I am also thinking about the story then Jacob is literally wrestling with God in the night, before he's coming home to his brother Esau. Well, thank you brother, stay strong and love the lord your God. 🙂 Thank you for your words.
Idk how to change for good and be a better person. I feel like the more that I sin, the more of a mockery I am making to God and it’s killing me inside. But I just don’t know what else to do to stop sinning. I am weak. Please forgive me God and give me a new heart 😞
Turning from sin hasn't ever saved anyone. Believing the gospel, trusting in Jesus for the remission of sins saves anyone who believes. 1 corinthians 15 1-4
I have moments where I see Christ as all satisfying that are very brief then I fall back into depression because I think I have committed the unpardonable sin through porn and have gone to far please pray for me! I need a miracle! Lord help me!
May God help you. I'm not in the same situation, but sure I'm struggling too. I'm feeling sad, depressed, confused bc I dont really know God yet, but I will and you also in Jesus name.
I too struggle with finding peace. But, I can tell you most definitely that lust isn't the unforgivable sin. Matthew 12 points out that it's blasphemy against the holy spirit. If you read the whole chapter you'll see the context is that Jesus' accusers had committed that sin, and he was rebuking them for it.
How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death... Hebrews 9:14
I didn't know that's what the unforgivable sin was... I thought it was just saying something bad about the Holy Spirit. I've been struggling with sexual sin for two years, and often it keeps me from knowing Christ to any real degree. I'm scared because now I don't know if I can be forgiven if the unforgivable sin is when your sin keeps you from Him. I also feel like sometimes when I'm struggling to resist temptations God gives me over to them. I don't want to think it though. I feel like at some point He might end my faith because of my sin😭😭😭 I'm just so scared😭
The way you can tell if your repentance is genuine is: BE GENUINE!! The way you can tell if your wasting people's time is to continue to waste people's time with your feelings about yourself!
Seeing that my salvation has nothing to do with what I do ;and solely on what Jesus has done ,I can be assured that I have been saved the moment I trusted in Christ after hearing the gospel !salvation is that simple! ;not complicated !..as simple as taking a drink of water . I can see why this man deals with this issue more than ever is because of puffed up words ..complicated , messy stumbling blocks No.Esau couldn't find repentance though he sought it with tears ,meaning that ,he could not change what he had done it was done ,his father had already blessed jacob and it could not be taken back ,but notice that Isaac, blessed him with what he could ,Esau was deeply grieved over what he had done ,but ...this is not a salvation message it is merely a sinful man ,repentance means a change of mind ,not a change of life !? Just as we cannot change one jot of our sins and their consequences neither could Esau. But with Christ we can receive remission of sins :all of them, when we simply believe that he is the one who has taken all our sin and laid them on himself. His righteousness secures my eternity. Not my righteousness
@@shaphand For me I am more loving and forgiving to others and I am starting to slowly get my sins away from me starting from a foul mouth to lying, pornography, stealing, judging others, pride and disrespecting others. But I find that very hard to spot in my own life. I'm 32 and I keep falling back. And if I don't fall back for a longer period of time I'm still getting annoyed with people a lot and I'm not very patient
Luke 12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 2 Thessalonians 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Revelation 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
What if you keep repenting, but continue to commit the same sin despite trying to stop, like for an addiction? Does the fact that you're having difficulty stopping yourself mean you're already too far gone?
Exactly! He didn't really address Repentance and what it really is. YES Look to Christ for sure. BUT one can look to Christ all day long and not be fully repented for their wrongdoing. I am researching this diligently. BEcause I too know someone who keeps confessing (feeling sorry for what they have done) BUT what the greek says in the translation of the word, 'REPENT' is...TO CHANGE YOUR MIND---TO Turn away STOP doing it. Allow the Holy Spirit's transforming power to convict you so you will HATE your sin and stop doing whats ultimately hurting you and others !
Hey John. It might help to pray that the Holy Spirit will produce genuine, godly sorrow in your heart for the sin; granting you to see it (and sin in general) as the horror that it is. Then we see our need, and can more readily cling to Christ's sacrificial death on the cross *for* that sin. I have so been there and know what you're talking about...being mired is not fun :/ His grace and cleansing power can take care of it though! Am praying for you.
A lot of believers struggle with this. Jesus knows we would struggle with this and rest assured the LORD provides for all our needs. Understand this, you are not the judge do not condemn yourself. You know you’re a sinner that’s a good sign, continue to pray in Jesus’ name, ask him to tame your flesh and give victory to the spirit. Remember only Jesus is perfect all other prophets and people of God have sinned so you are not alone, don’t doubt God’s love and forgiveness. The apostle Paul struggles with sin and he was an eye witness to Jesus Christ’s power. Sometimes God allows us to struggle with sin in order to reveal a message. See how strong sin is, you will not doubt the reality of sin. God is making you know that sin is real and you cannot fight it on your own. We must be humble and seek his grace and faith in him NEVER give up, no matter what. I’ve wrestled with God due to my stumbling and I confessed and said Lord I’m never leaving you and the power of the spirit strengthened my spirit and Christ made it known he never left me and he was faithful while I was not.
How can a man repent when he does not know his sins? Surely, his repentance is vanity. It is for this reason the Lord God sent me, His angel, in this last day to give His people understanding of His covenant and sins to repent for. Daniel 8:16 And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of the Ulai, who called, and said, “Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.” Afte king Saul disobeyed the commandments of God, the Spirit of God left him and distressing spirit from the Lord God entered into his heart. Since then iniquities such as pride, envy and murder were in his heart. He hunted David to kill. The process of entering iniquities in the heart of people in today's world is the same. Pride, envy, lust, adultery, idolatry, and lie are iniquites that came trespassing the Law of Moses. They stain your soul. If they do not leave your body, you cannot enter the Kingdom of God. Psalm 119 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. The work of the Law of Moses is to help you recognize sins that the Lord God forbids you to do. Every commandment you trespass in the Law of Moses is called sin. The fruits of sin are iniquities. They blind your eyes, mind, and heart and your understanding will become perverse; You will call good evil and evil good. You will committ more sins without realizing it. Sins place you far from the Lord God and Lord Jesus. If you are the child of God, He will send calamities to you to cleanse, humble and help you repent. The words of God said only humble are saved by grace. If you are not His child, calamities will only destroy you for transgressing the Law of Moses. The work of the blood of Lord Jesus is to forgive you from sinning against the Law of the Holy Father and to wash you from iniquities. But if you continue to disobey the Law of Moses, iniquities will continue to flow into your heart. To stop iniquities from flowing into your heart, you need to come back into obeying the Law of Moses. Before the Lord Jesus revealed to me I am one of the children of Zion, I was also a Christian. I was taught that Christians are free from the Law of Moses. Lord Jesus taugth me it is a perverse teaching. Paul meant of free from the Law of Moses, you are no longer sinning against it. He also said without the Law of Moses, he would not know that covetousness is a sin "You shall not covet." Proverbs 28:4 Those who forsake the Law praise the wicked, But such as keep the Law contend with them. Isaiah 8:20 To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the Law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the Law. Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the Law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the Law had said, “You shall not covet.” The Law of Moses is the foundation of the ways, righteousness, holiness, and judgment of the Holy Father. It is the way of life in Heaven and for by them everlasting life in Heaven continue to flow forever. It is the way of life and the foundation of the teaching of Lord Jesus. You cannot abolish, disobey or neglect the teaching of it. It is the cause of all calamities to come and destroy lives for rejecting it. Jeremiah 6:19 Hear, O earth! Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on this people- The fruit of their thoughts, because they have not heeded My words Nor My Law, but rejected it. Jeremiah 9 Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through? And the Lord said, “Because they have forsaken My Law which I set before them." Luke 16:31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ I hope in Christ that the Christians will wake up and obey His whole truth and not partial while there is still a time. Malachi 2 For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and people should seek the Law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. But you have departed from the way; You have caused many to stumble at the Law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of hosts. Therefore I also have made you contemptible and base before all the people, because you have not kept My ways but have shown partiality in the Law. Spirit and the bride, Daughter of Zion, Mount Zion, Heavenly Jerusalem Gabriel, angel of the Lord
If we were not sorry for the consequences of our sin, would any of us repent? I don't see how it's possible to repent without there being a selfish motive involved. Is the fear of Hell not a valid reason to repent? Are there not many promises in The Bible that, if you do X, you can expect Y, e.g., honor your mother and father and you'll have a long life, give and it will be returned in multiples? Did the prodigal son repent because his motive was pure and felt bad about the way he treated his dad or was there a selfish motive in play? It seems to me God is in tune with our selfish nature and it's a completely valid valid reason for repentance. But, once we've committed to repentance and doing God's will, our motives will/should become more pure as we grow in His grace.
He that cometh to me i will in no wise cast out. Repentance for salvation is a change of mind that causes a change of heart. Repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Who comes to Christ? Those that realize that they need Jesus (Repentance) and because of this need they put theiir faith in Jesus and trust in his finishd work on the cross to save them. I thought I was all set then I saw myself as a sinner on his way to hell.( Genuine repentance) Then by faith I came to Christ. For with the heart man beleveth unto righteousness. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Notice it is only one thing. (Belief) If it was more than one thing it would be works. To him that worketh not but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly his faith (not works) is counted for righteousness. Now that I am saved God wants me to be a peculiar people Zelious of good works. Now my repentance is not unto salvation but a turning from the sins which the holy spirit convicts me of . If you dont seperate the two you will forever doubt your salvation. God made it easy we make it hard.
So many preacher here saying how to know your repentance is genuine. They make you doubt. If you've repented, you do not walk or live in that sin any longer. If you do, you have not repented, repentance means admit it and quit it.
Jesus made clear The unpardonable sin in Matthew. I believe we should be very careful not to give it in human interpretation. Secondly, I believe personally, that Esau sort back his birthright with his tears, not necessarily repentance. Why would Esau not receive Forgiveness if he was genuinely sorry for his sins? Just my thoughts
It was more like he didn't feel bad about his sins, but when he realized what he had lost because of them then he was terrified for his future. The love that fills us with the Holy Spirit gives us genuine remorse for our wrongdoings, knowing that our actions hurt God and his creation. Esau sinned without remorse until God gave up his salvation and then he deeply regretted his actions. The Holy spirit does not inflict regret, the spirit of fear does that.
If you’re concerned with having committed the unpardonable sin-you haven’t. Only those, like the Pharisees of Jesus day, who had repeatedly rejected who He truly was were able to ascribe the works of the Holy Spirit to Beelzebub (Satan). Only those who totally and completely reject Jesus as Lord and Savior can commit this sin. Also, we have it on the inerrancy of God’s Word that if we confess our sins He is faithful and will forgive us our sins. We have this on His authority not ours. Satan always endeavors to wrap us up around the axle with self recriminations about our salvation, forgiveness, you name it. Our repentance is God’s job not ours. Phil 2:12-13 emphasis on v:13.
It's fruit. Not fruits. If it were fruits you could have one, but not the other. But you have all of them. (Kindness, patience, goodness, etc.) But they might not grow equally as hard. I don't know
We are sinner's saved by grace through faith. Repent in a nutshell means to turn from (willful) Sin. Wilful sin is knowing the Gospel of Christ and doing the opposite of what Christ commands. I.e. don't sleep with married women. But you do any ways. You know the commands of God and you do the opposite of what he has commanded . Christ said obey the commands from the Father that whos words lead eternal life. The commands are to repent from sin and believe in Christ. What does believing in Christ mean? It means you are condemned to hell because we all fall short if the Glory of God. To know he died for your sins. He is the way the truth and the life. He is the only way to the Father. God's grace is sufficient for us in our struggle with sin after truly believing and His mercy is far and wide. Truly believing in Christ as Lord is being born again.
perseverance is one of the fruits of the holy spirit so don't give up show Jesus there are some ripe fruits on your tree. Thats what I am doing and pulling up my carnal sin at the root.
amy ferraro hi there! Yes, it's true. If you genuinely ask, He will be there. And you also have to repent and be willing to be changed by the Holy Spirit. Transformation doesn't happen overnight though. It takes time.😊
Hi Amy! So, remember that Lord Jesus Christ IS the savior. He already died for the sins of the past, present, and future. We weren't even born yet when christ died for us, so it blows my mind when people think only there past sins were forgiven and then they have to "live a good life" once they have been sealed with the holy spirit and are his child. In the new testament when Paul is giving his epistles, it is mainly to "already saved" people. And how we SHOULD live once we are saved. People in all of the churches do everything backwards. They do all they're works "to be saved", when that's completely wrong. You come to Christ completely filthy and covered in sin, letting the law do what was intended for it to do, which is make us realize we are all guilty of everything and dont deserve a single thing whatsoever. It is not of our works whatsoever, all what he did. That is why in Matthew 7:21-23, you have all the people gloating about their wonderful works. And jesus says I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. He doesn't say, oh I knew you and then you did some sin or something and now I don't know you, it's because they were never his children! They never actually believed! They thought jesus was a supplement to their salvation and it was all based on what they were doing. The ONLY repentence that is what saves, which repentence means to change your mind, is the repentence of actually believing on christ and what he did for all of us, having that full assurance of faith. Hope this helps, God bless:)
We are ALL sinners that fall short of the glory of God. And we ALL are deserving of eternal punishment in hell because sin is so serious (it’s the cause of all pain, death, and suffering). And that’s why Jesus willingly died on the cross for all our sins and rose from the dead three days later! That we may have eternal life with Him if we repent (to change your mind about Jesus, that Jesus Christ is the Lord our God) and trust in Him (that He will save us ONLY because of what He did on the cross, we are saved by grace through faith)! And don’t wait because either because you do not know when you will die (just really think about that, you have NO CLUE when you will die! it’s could be tonight in your sleep or even in the NEXT HOUR!) That’s why God is calling you RIGHT NOW today to receive the gift of salvation!
Is repentance a one day thing or it takes time and how much time should it take? What if after many teachings and guidance you still sin against God. I mean tou still have the desire to follow God and you've realized your sins, and asked for forgiveness??? Is your repentance still genuine?? You really feel the guilt of your sin and it is your desire to change but the closest people around you don't believe you and expect evidence?
I don't feel repentance I don't comit the same sins because I want to live God but after until a certain point I didn't feel saved and now I do t feel saved I feel empty like I am a husk
For those curious in 2024, The unpardonable sin is not many possible sins, it is one sin, it says here in Matthew 12:31"31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men." attributing the works of Jesus Christ to the Devil as the Phoresies' and the Jews did. This is much deeper than just saying "god damn it" or something comparable to it, while that is blasphemy, that is not what the Jews committed in their hearts. They had said with their mouths and believed in their hearts that Jesus did his miracles by the power of the Devil. This is not a casual sin you commit idly. If you had done this why would you now be seeking Jesus? it's not our will that makes us wake up and go, "oh boy I need to find me some Jesus!" it is a work of the holy spirit in us. The writer of the pilgrims progress, John Bunyan wrote in his book, a deep fear that he had committed this sin, he struggled with it searched for it, God used that searching in his life all the while holding him right there in the palm of his hand.
I forgot who told this story or made this short story imagine you're with a friend and a few minutes later your friend punches you in the face and he says he's sorry you say okay I forgive you. A few seconds later he punches you again he says he's sorry again you're like okay I forgive you. Then the third time he punches you now you know that he isn't sorry. That's how I see what God thinks of us. Are we truly sorry about our sin or we just going to abuse God's grace
How do you know your repentance is genuine? Ask yourself what gospel you believe in today. If it's still the true gospel, then you are saved. John Piper misuses the "test yourself" verse 2 Cor 13:5. In context the test is whether or not the believers believed in the gospel Paul preached. Read verse 3. They doubted Christ was speaking through him. 2 Cor 13:5 is not a moral test to see if you're in the faith. You are in the faith by believing the gospel. THE GOSPEL: God sent His Son Jesus to us as a man, born of a virgen by God's Holy Spirit, who never sinned. He lived perfectly and loved others perfectly. He was beaten and died on a cross for our sins (evil acts). He was raised to life 3 days later and if we believe in Him, He will make us perfect in the eyes of God. His righteousness (perfection) becomes ours and we are saved from Hell by His grace through faith. We can't work for it by making ourselves good. Only believing the gospel can save you from God's wrath (anger) against sin. If this gospel is not good news to you, then you are still in your sins and self-righteous.
@@ericgraham4360 That's easy. You either believe what God said or you don't. Is the gospel true or not, did Jesus pay for your sins or not? Good questions to ask yourself
It is impossible for anyone to repent unless they have established Gods laws and Commandments, you need to first understand what qualifies as sin in Gods eyes by scripture and then repent for what you know as sin from the Bible. And remember keep the Sabbath Holy, the Forth Commandment.
Isn’t someone who has committed the unpardonable sin NOT even wondering and worrying they have done it?? Why would someone who has done it look to Jesus Christ? I say this because John Piper goes on here saying if someone who comes to him and asks him, he would answer: “Well, I don’t know if they have or not” Isn’t someone who ultimately has done this NOT look Jesus Christ and said no to him. And thus that is the ultimate sin to not be forgiven because then why would they come to Jesus Christ and be forgiven when they have basically turned from the ONE where to receive forgiveness. You know what I am trying to get at here?
That's definitely a possibility, and some I know would say "yeah, if you're worried you've committed the unforgiveable sin, that's evidence that you have a regenerate heart." And I think it's evidence, but not decisive evidence if that makes sense. But the fact that you can doubt your sincerity and doubt if you truly believe means that you doubt if coming to Jesus is actually coming to him. At the same time, you have places where Jesus says that whoever comes to Him He will never cast out. So in other words, it's NOT the sincerity or level of your faith. Its that you come to Jesus. But what does it mean to come to Jesus? Does it really just mean to call on Him and pray to Him? Maybe. I for one do not know the answer to that question. But I would definitely err on the side of saying that if you confess that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. I would imagine that in a "fake" coming to Christ is obvious to the person praying that all of his repentance is false, not simply a wondering whether it is or not.
my Dr ruined my life by saying I was analytical it didn't help me.she was TOTALLY WRONG.I did that.I had it right dome do caisecpeople to doubt.its called bullying putting people through psychiatry.
How can have assurance, because you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, that's your assurance that he gives you eternal life, mentioned nearly a 100 times in the book of John, don't listen to John Piper, he will tell you you can sin your way out of salvation, complete nonsense!!
Confession is not repentance and repentance is not confession. You know you have repented if you have stopped the sin. If not you haven't repented. Someone said "admit it and quit it"
Someone liked my comment from 3 weeks regarding this video, honestly, I had to come back and rewatch this video to see if I was correct in my analysis. The verdict is out run from this man's teachings seriously, keep running don't look back. This man is an actor and a horrible one at that sitting with two people as his audience as he sits and pretends to have any type of knowledge or regard whatsoever for our LORD JESUS CHRIST. You want to know about repentance listen to David Wilkerson or Charles Lawson they will give it to you straight. Admit you are a sinner humbly repent each of your sins even the little ones you think wouldn't matter ask JESUS to come and live in your heart ask the HOLY SPIRIT to write JESUS'S will on your heart stop doing the things that are sinful even the little things you think won't matter. Ask for forgiveness believe in what Jesus did for all of us and for you on the cross. Believe you are forgiven. Don't follow this man.
Can you point out how he was wrong though? I don't think he contradicts anything you just said. He's not talking about what repentance IS, he's talking really about how to have assurance, which is related but different.
Don't be silly. You praying that the Holy Spirit will testify with your spirit.....IS the Holy Spirit testifying with your spirit. This will probably be a subtle experience. Just don't try to make the experience be weird to make it be true.
Hey, John, nice ministry logo on your shirt! Don't tell me your "ministry" isn't a busine$$! Betcha I know how you vote! You think the None generation doesn't see this and are put off???
I pray that the Holy Spirit will testify with my spirit that I belong to Him.
That's a wise prayer. Blessings!

Dude preach it!

Amen!
Could someone pray for me
I have struggled with this for years and have had Great Depression because of this
It’s never about walking away from God
Like the disciples said “Lord where would we go , you have the words of eternal life “
I long for assurances not to just gain heaven or escape Hell but to be with the one who loves me and made me for himself
Feeling can be decisive but the Word of God is concrete.
(And even beyond.)
I'll give you a list of some of the references I used:

I find it helpful when I read Luke 17:3-4:
"Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
I find it amazing that Jesus gives the scenario of a person who sins against us seven times in a single day. Do you even care?"
This just shows the limitlessness of God's forgiveness. If Jesus tells us to forgive someone that many times in a single day, how much more will God freely forgive us for the countless numbers of sins we have committed.
Thanks for the answer.

Jesus is coming soon, get saved, repent, and follow God’s will!
By just being honest with yourself, its amazing how many people lie to thenselves.
I dont know if i hate sin and what is godly sorrow?

And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
what happens if i repent then do the unpardonable sin again and beg for forgiveness again. Will god forgive me?

GOD knows True Repentance.Just Repent and Ask forgiveness.
How can a man repent when he does not know his sins? Surely, his repentance is vanity. It is for this reason the Lord God sent me, His angel, in this last day to give His people understanding of His covenant and sins to repent for.
Daniel 8:16
And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of the Ulai, who called, and said, “Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.”
Afte king Saul disobeyed the commandments of God, the Spirit of God left him and distressing spirit from the Lord God entered into his heart.
Psalm 119
How can a young man cleanse his way?
He also said without the Law of Moses, he would not know that covetousness is a sin "You shall not covet."
Proverbs 28:4
Those who forsake the Law praise the wicked, But such as keep the Law contend with them.
Isaiah 8:20
To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Romans 3:31
Do we then make void the Law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the Law.
Romans 7:7
What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the Law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the Law had said, “You shall not covet.”
The Law of Moses is the foundation of the ways, righteousness, holiness, and judgment of the Holy Father.
Jeremiah 6:19
Hear, O earth! Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on this people- The fruit of their thoughts, because they have not heeded My words Nor My Law, but rejected it.
Jeremiah 9
Why does the land perish and burn up like a wilderness, so that no one can pass through? And the Lord said, “Because they have forsaken My Law which I set before them."
Luke 16:31
But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’
I hope in Christ that the Christians will wake up and obey His whole truth and not partial while there is still a time.
Malachi 2
For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and people should seek the Law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. But you have departed from the way; You have caused many to stumble at the Law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of hosts. Therefore I also have made you contemptible and base before all the people, because you have not kept My ways but have shown partiality in the Law.

Go away wannabe angel what's wrong with you?
I feel like another way is too ask God to test you.
Can you give some more detail on the Esau part, I fear I have committed the unforgivable sin and I’m looking for any type of hope I can find
Are we to work towards Faith and Assurance through prayer ?
Whether or not you have the fruits of the Spirit.
It's fruit. Not fruits. If it were fruits you could have one, but not the other. But you have all of them. (Kindness, patience, goodness, etc.) But they might not grow equally as hard. I don't know
I have sin how can I repent
We are sinner's saved by grace through faith.
Repent in a nutshell means to turn from (willful) Sin. Wilful sin is knowing the Gospel of Christ and doing the opposite of what Christ commands. I.e. don't sleep with married women. But you do any ways.
You know the commands of God and you do the opposite of what he has commanded
Pray sincerely.
Leave it in Gods hands.
How do I know if my doubt is genuine?
IDK.
❤️❤️❤️
perseverance is one of the fruits of the holy spirit so don't give up show Jesus there are some ripe fruits on your tree. Thats what I am doing and pulling up my carnal sin at the root.
Is it true that if we just ask Him to be our savior He will not turn us away
amy ferraro hi there! Yes, it's true. If you genuinely ask, He will be there. And you also have to repent and be willing to be changed by the Holy Spirit. Transformation doesn't happen overnight though. It takes time.😊
John 6:37 - helps encourage me
persevere sister. The fact you are asking is good evidence of the Spirit in your life.
No he will not turn us down....
But we can turn him down.
Hope this helps, God bless:)
if anyone is seeking an answer to life I honestly reckon that God will steer that person, through circumstances, to the Truth.
Amen 🙌🏼🙏🏼
I hope I’m not an Esau by this point
For those curious in 2024, The unpardonable sin is not many possible sins, it is one sin, it says here in Matthew 12:31"31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men."
attributing the works of Jesus Christ to the Devil as the Phoresies' and the Jews did.
I doubt my repentance after years of porn addiction. It's eroded my heart
THE GOSPEL:
God sent His Son Jesus to us as a man, born of a virgen by God's Holy Spirit, who never sinned.
But then how do you know you believe? That's the struggle for many
@@ericgraham4360 That's easy.
The real answer is if your truly saved person if commit any kind of sin you regret it thats the reality...
What was that mouthful at the end lol
Isn’t someone who has committed the unpardonable sin NOT even wondering and worrying they have done it??
Why would someone who has done it look to Jesus Christ?
I say this because John Piper goes on here saying if someone who comes to him and asks him, he would answer: “Well, I don’t know if they have or not”
Isn’t someone who ultimately has done this NOT look Jesus Christ and said no to him.
Someone said "admit it and quit it"
Why is worshipping god so difficult ...sir.
debraj moirangthem because we were born into sin. And it is a constant spiritual battle our entire lives.
@@1savedsheep without faith it’s impossible to please God .
I thought Jesus already paid for our sins, howcome you have to read the Bible, get baptized and spread the Bible, works? Don't make sense?
the unforgivable sin is rejecting the gospel and jesus time after time again and never converting to Christianity in the first place
I think I have committed the unforgivable sin
Work out your salvation worth fear and trembling.
@@retrograd332 Thank you, Dynamite Fresh is it? No, that name isn't self-serving.
Or maybe just, no matter who you hear from, compare it with the Bible... lesson for all(including me)
Can you point out how he was wrong though? I don't think he contradicts anything you just said. He's not talking about what repentance IS, he's talking really about how to have assurance, which is related but different.
Don't be silly. You praying that the Holy Spirit will testify with your spirit.....IS the Holy Spirit testifying with your spirit. This will probably be a subtle experience. Just don't try to make the experience be weird to make it be true.
