They make great stuff. I've been using their 529x for a few weeks now for a small board that includes a Strymon Iridium. Great power, no noise. And it was only $139US
I’ve been using a Joyo JP-05 battery pack but I like the idea of using power banks so I’m going to consider this as a replacement. The Joyo has more output options but I never use them all and this probably has me covered. The price is right. I’m in.
You CANNOT run the 529i through power while actually using it to power pedals. Mission Engineering specifically states not to do this as it will heat up the supply and potentially damage it.
I use the 529i and X and theIr Expressionator (to control Strymon Flint, Sunset and Keely Monterey) and Expression pedal and they are well made. But really if you want to go off grid you need a battery powered guitar amp as well and I have found one that I like.
I went with the MyVolts Ripcord USB cable option… got one center positive exclusively for my HX stomp and one more Center Negative for the rest of my stomp boxes… I must say this looks more solid, but it doesn’t have two 500ma outputs which can be combined for the hx stomp…
Good review, as alwasy. I got myself a 529i to power my silent guitar board, not too power hungry, and this thing just lasts FOREVER for me :) I agree, that given the regular 529 price, this one is a killer. I wonder if they have sales of 529 at all now that they have 529i. I was not too impressed with 529x announcement, because, even though I am sure it's an excellently built power supply, just like most things ME makes, but it's just a regular power supply, and there are tons of alternatives, ranging from higher end Strymons and Voodooo Labs and CIOKS and you name it, to all other pretty decent Harley Bentons and Joyos and Calines out there. Built in battery is what really sets it apart. And I also think you can power an 18v device from 529i, using two of their 9v output ports and a special voltage doubling cable (not to be confused with current doubler cables, which you can also use with 529i, for instance, to power a very power-hungry pedal, or even an HX Stomp, dedicating both of 529i's 500mA outputs to power a single device. Although I agree that if one needs this kind of power supply, it's better to get a 529HC (now sort of replaced by their 529M) for such combo FX or processors.
It should be ok. You might have to use more than one output from the 529i if the POD or Boss need more power than a single output using a regular daisy chan cable in reverse
Wie geht’s? I don’t suppose it would run a centre positive 9v 300mA transmitter unit for in-ear monitors, would it? Or could you recommend one that could? Vielen dank!
Why are you skeptical about battery powered power supplies, dear Hannig? I am very concerned about the portability, the compactness of my little pedalboard and small combo amp. I don't want to get tangled up in wires. I want to prepare the pedalboard with a few strokes and start playing. Be creative without unnecessary worries. I want to play outdoors. It seems to me that modern engineers are able to remove interference from a power source as much as possible. I don't understand why there are so few mobile and compact power banks for musical instruments on the market.
Thermodynamics suggests that is not a law of the universe. 9v batteries are rubbish. Even before you get to the rechargeable function, and we're not talking about the drop off. Servicing 2 pedals, let alone 5 is a bigger pain compared to brick supplies. It is not feasible for pros powering grand stand gear. For the garage bandits, sure
Does the device need to be connected to power supply ALL THE TIME? Or is it rechargeable, and can be taken outdoors (to power other devices) without incoming power?
Misleading info in this vid. You cannot charge while playing!!! Mission engineering says run pedals only when there is no power cable or usb charging the battery. This means that u always only have ~2hrs play time till you have to stop playing and charge again. If you want to play while u charge, then use the 529 and a usb power bank, or the BEST option is the 529x paired with the 529m and a USB-PD power supply. This is how you’ll get 8+hrs use off high current pedals The 529i ONLY works if you play for less than 2 hrs.

hey, you can't run the 529i through power while actually using it even with powerbank? or this only about plugging it into wall? if you can't plug it into power bank via usb while using it I don't see any purpose of buying it...

Thanks for showing me something that I didn't know I needed that now I have to have. Ordering soon. :)
Beautiful blue battery of boardabilty!

Dolly Parton had a 925 power supply which included huge built in batteries.
Working 9 to 5.......to make sure Joleen doesn't steal her man. She can afford the price tag especially with her bodyguard royalties
Her Stairway to Heaven is up there w Zappa's
I bought one before the video even finished. Exactly what I want for a little gigging board.
Looks super useful

What a intro! Guitar is my home! - My newest song...
A lesson in how to make a power supply sexy!
You think can work with … Nano Cortex, Dunlop Mini Wah & DigiTech Ricochet ?

Is it possible to power a Line 6 POD HD 500X multi-effects and a BOSS RC 300 Looper?

Hi, How many 9 v pedals will it run?

Its a law of the universe that everything comes full circle. Why not just have a rechargable battery in the pedals themselves ?

I would rather power 8 pedals with one high quality power bank rather than dealing with 8 shitty rechargeable 9 volt batteries
Ok, price aside, with similar outputs, Cioks or MI? I'm asking because I was about to buy the DC10 but this seems to be a better deal...
DC10 is good, but is heavier, doesn’t have a batterie and can’t be powered with 5V, so I’d go for the MI if you are OK with only 9V and no 12 or 18
@@EytschPi42 Thank you Henning!
I promise I'll use your link to buy my MI.

Rechargeable so it doesnt need to always be plugged in
