    I currently use my 529i to power up my board which has the DSM & Humboldt Simplifier Deluxe (amongst other things). With the Boss MS-3, RC-10R and some kind of infinite hold reverb pedal, you have the PERFECT one-man-band portable amp rig on a single board, which can be plugged into any Bluetooth speaker with an aux in.
    (Since the Simplifier is analogue, it isn't super high-powered like the other power-hungry digital options out there).

    I've been doing this exact thing for a couple years with the JOYO JP05. It absolutely gets the job done. Mission makes superb products, but that comes with a hefty price. The JP05 is a superb value for the same functionality at a fraction of the price.
    I leave it to the brand/spec obsessed to fight over relative comparisons but no question, for most all practice, playing, non-recording situations the JP05 does the job.
    Playing and sounding great as always Jay!

      Are the outputs on the Joyo JP05 isolated? They were not back when I last tested it, which admittedly was a few years ago. The isolation is the expensive part.

      @@JamesLebihan To my knowledge, I believe they CLAIM they are isolated. I have no expertise on how to test this.
      All I can say is that both of my units exhibit zero issues with noise [obviously no AC hum when battery powered] and they just work.
      One of my JP05 powers an all mini board with 18 pedals on it. Obviously, I am only running about a max of 7-8 pedals at any given time. But it does so flawlessly and I have observed time yields of upwards of 3.5+ hours under that kind of load.
      My only wish for a ver.2.0 would be an even larger rechargeable battery in the same form factor.
      The JP05 really is a sturdy, seemingly well built beast, has super sexy super bright blue LED lights for each connection, has the USB A output as well.
      IMO, it really is a good quality unit and at around 1/3 the price of this Mission device, certainly delivers the goods.
      No slam on Mission at all.
      Best I can tell ya. :)

      @@joesatchton212 The JP-05 is a nice battery power supply at a great price point, however the outputs are not isolated. I tested an older one and I checked the web site and the specs and did not see anywhere that the manufacturer indicates that they are. If you are using small analog pedals (and even some digital ones) then daisy chain supplies like this will usually work just fine and you can avoid spending the extra on an isolated supply. Many more complex digital effects pedals however, will generate a significant amount of noise if used without isolation. The complexity of providing the isolation is what makes isolated supplies more expensive. There's a complete, if somewhat long and boring explanation here ua-cam.com/video/mZFmWc5CPn0/v-deo.html

      @@JamesLebihan James, good to know and thanks for taking time to look up and post. For my own non-pro needs, the JP05 suffices. My second one is powering a mini fly rig anchored by a Boss GT1 and also exhibits flawless performance even with the addition of another few analog pedals.
      I guess just a case of, for my needs, I'm a Honda not Mercedes kind of guy. :)
      Cheers and thanks again!

      @@joesatchton212 that can't be charged by a powerbank though, so you are tied with the PSU brick to recharge it once internal battery dies. This one you can charge using the MicroUSB in.

    Very cool demo. This is a pro product, you could maybe say something about price point in you reviews. Some gear is expensive for a reason which can be useful to justify.

      It should through the 500ma jack :)

  • @ivanfeaguirre

    You can’t get 18V by just adding two 9V outputs. What you can add is mA but not volts. So if a pedal draws 800 mA is ok to use two 500 mA outputs.

    • @tajbratton2961
      @tajbratton2961 2 роки тому +1

      The pedal specifically comes with a 18v doublet cable

      @ivanfeaguirre 2 роки тому

      @@tajbratton2961 4:13 Jay is using a Cali 76 which is an 18V pedal. It's working but, that's not the way you double the voltage. Only time will tell if he ends up damaging the pedal. You need a voltage doubler circuit that is more complex than a current doubler cable.

    • @RajivSamaroo
      @RajivSamaroo Рік тому +1
