How have I only just seen this video. Man it's great to hear you talking about GorkaMorka. It was always my favourite GW game, its the game that got me involved in it all. As for the Necrons the range was just Warriors, Destroyers, Lords and Scarabs. I remember Milesy's army of then, no one else got close to owning one in store.
I cannot overstate how important you are with my consumption of Warhammer lore. Like how the hell am I supposed to get this sweet sweet lore? People are all super Luetin09 fans (don't get me wrong he's cool) but ABP is where it's at. He's had two videos already about Gorkamorka and he's still not done. I don't need all the commentary or to be explained what everything means, I just want the lore man. Prince, you're doing a public service.
add to this that Uncle Baldermort has featured the Border Prince's VA talents in his ongoing saga of Abundance Tertius and you really start to see the Esteem he has to his name. Gorkamorka is my single favourite piece of Lore and it made me decide to build my own Mektown scenery to play in. It just gives me this warm late 80s early 90s feeling reminding me of Mad Max, Fallour 1+2 and such. Definitely gonna add some SpeedFreaks to my BadMoons army now ❤ I am already Mek and Gear heavy, but this will make it perfect. That's what Orks are all about for me. And I hope we get some more badlands/MadMax Orks next Orktober. The snakebites didn't do it at all for me and the Killteam Kommandoes are very cool, but I wouldn't want a whole army of Bloodaxes
The end slice of your life stuff really brings it home. Kinda alot of our stories. I was in Alaska and only had one comic shop and got a warhammer minitures range book. Poured over it for hours over years. Good times. Was the golden age. Back library on had a dozen novels. Lol
Such a shame that GW didn’t continue with this game, but it was a game that supported personal miniature creation, something that GW didn’t appreciate what with personal creativity instead of just buying standard miniatures as sold by GW, anyone would think they wasn’t a gaming company that supports the community who buys their products. Such a shame to see this happen as it didn’t involve Space Marines.
Mind blowing what you can do with stupifying scales of time and space in the 40k universe... I mean this is just one planet which nobody not even cares to remember, but even fail to stumble upon, for so much time, things have span out of ordinary on it to this length... it's just amazing...
Its quite easy to understand how the forsaken humans have become Ork fanboys, Orks are badass. If, "Megod" ever does come back for the Muties- you can bet they Will be cleansed, just not quite in the way they expect! I absolutely LOVE the GorkkaMorkka world-building theres still so much potential in there, so many stories could still come out of this wacky place! Megod, I love it!
The only victors will be the Necrons. Hell all it takes is some rogue C'Tan shard or Imotekh. Hell, what if the overlord wakes up? Everything points to the victory condition for Orks is that the Necrons stay asleep and that the Muties' wish for "Megod" not to ever be fulfilled.
Yup, the muties are loyal, but warped. So when they summon the Imperium to cleanse the Orks and Diggamob traitors, the Imperium will say "thanks mutie scum," kill all the muties, then rescue the Diggamobs (although even they will get a culling and brutal treatment, but they'll eventually have their descendents welcomed back into the fold.) The descendants of the Diggamobs becoming fanatical Ork hunters as a penance seems very likely.
Orks are what got me into the setting, and whenever I find myself disliking directions GW goes in, they are what keep bringing me back. Thanks for this.
I adored this setting and it's fluff. Though I only got to play it a few times as a kid I had all the expansions. It had that biological study of Ork reproduction in the back
Any chance you would consider narrating Nate Crowley's short story "Enemy of my enemy"? It's about orks teaming up with the military to fight tyranids. The ending is hilariously twisted lol
By the emperor! I just got the biggest nostalgia hit from that outro. When you showed that cover of WD, I was like yes! that's where it all started for me and that necron was one of the first minis I ever painted. I clicked this video expecting some Orky lore and found a unique world within the verse. Soooooo cool.😅

@aborderprince I've been working on a GorkaMorka TTRPG. It should be released for Public Playtest on 1/1/25. It will be free to avoid the BanHammer from GW. You can play Orks, Grots, Snots, and Squigs. After it's Public Playtest release I will begin working on it's first free suppliment "Memories of Angelis", which will allow the playing of Diggaz, Muties, Grot Rebels, and Splittaz (Outcasts from MekTown), giving you a total of 5 viewpoints to play on the world from. Thought you'd like to know 😊
The sad thing is that the Muties will never be acceptable to any Imperial Inquisitor. We all know the Imperium's feelings on Mutants. They will be erased. As will any trace of Gorkamorka if a full exterminatus fleet is brought to bear. Only the Necrons will be victorious.
I really thought that the muties would be some basic bitch 'on they mutated went insane and became raiders' but no I think they might be my favourite bit, I just hope their mutation stabilizes before their call gets heard.
I remember when this game first came out many many moons ago. It was the greatest game GW ever made. It’s a shame that it was let go and thrown out by GW. They could have made more money if they kept it. It was small enough for quick fast games with many conversion possibilities.
One wonders indeed what the terror in the night is? The glowing creatures that take orcs or leave them in pieces. Or what the deal the diggers made with these creatures was?
Those pyramids they should have known where else there many cycles before when the space hook fell from necrons they always hide and wait until the time is come when the silent King calls for them arise arise.
I love the idea of there being especially hardy orcs who's favorite pass time besides smashin gits is extreme eating where the most questionable of exotic cuisine is on the menu.. I can just imagine such an Orc swallowing some horribly spined and scaly zenos alive as it struggles in vain to escape it's impending doom as it slides slowly but surely down his putred gullet until finally reaching his roiling pit of a stomach. Then with a satisfied drooling smile pats his disgustingly distended belly in faint celebration only to feel in return the razor sharp claws of his unfortunate meal desperately scratching away at his already battered stomach lining which of course only succeeds in eliciting the orc's ire which promoted a particularly crushing blow to his own stomach in order to silence the poor little creature for good..
It still exists in the lore but hasn’t been in print for like 20 years now. Some of the models were in use until a few years ago and it basically led to re design of entire Ork range and lore
Also that time period of GW everyone in the company was a hobbiest, I started work there 2001, left 2007 and just after the Lord of the Rings movies stopped coming out, the accountants took over and the stores stopped being hobby centres to being shops

When this game was released and my gaming group started to play it... I played muties. Was frickin' awesome!
Despite having the game and supplements, I never got to play. I was torn between playing Muties Or Diggamobs. Playing the Orks never occurred to me :)
