"Kyle" is the name given to someone who likes to drink monster energy drinks, wear axe body spray and punch holes in drywall.
I think I'll give it a try myself instead of calling in someone to do it. I hit the gas instead of the break after I entered my garage. Left about a foot long hole not that wide. I hear this happens occasionally with people. Thanks for the excellent instruction.
Great video, thank you. When I had a wall removed years ago, the craftsman used a lightly wadded plastic bag from the grocery store and dipped it in the drywall mud and applied it to the ceiling. Matched the texture really well.
I just bought my first house and the previous owner had so many unnecessary holes in it. She literally used bolts for putting everything up, even small canvases and photo frames. Thanks to this video, I feel confident I'll be able to patch all of them up before painting.
On pre-existing textured walls, dab the perimeter of the wet mud with a damp sponge to blend and eliminate new edge; otherwise, you should sand the edge when dry before texturing the patch, which is painstaking and unpleasant. New texture will not hide that edge.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for showing several types of holes to patch and how! I found it hard to find any videos that applied to me and how to resolve. Excellent instruction!!!💜👍🏼
Great instructions, made it very clear and simple to understand the patching process! I'm a handyman and I've been trying to get better at drywall! Your tips helped me solve a few problems I was having! Thanks
That's so funny Dean I'm actually a cabinet installer by trade I subcontract for a place near me and I'm getting ready to venture in to becoming a handyman myself which is the reason I was watching this video LOL! Great video by the way I really appreciate all the different types of patches that are available and I look forward to practicing these myself so I can get really good at it. God bless
Looks like I picked the right video to start with. Been way too stressed out lately, sadly my walls became the victim of it. Now I can fix them properly. Thank you!
As a painter I have always found the drywall to be the hardest to do it takes a lot of time to really know how to properly use each of the tools for drywall and the ways to apply the mud
This is vital info for apartment living (especially for one like me who likes to hang things and rearrange them all over and over). The walls always reflect the patches I've made and I had no idea how to make the wall look the same after using the mud until this video. I am actually looking forward to applying the new tricks you've just taught me. Thank you!!
My patch came with instructions, but seeing this video gave me the confidence I needed to fix a big hole in my wall (without asking hubby to do it, since he is working two jobs and has no time). Thank you!
Straight to the point and very informative! Anyone with a child "on the spectrum" as they call it now needs to watch this (if you have one, you know what I mean). I've got a room with one or more of each of your examples to fix. Thank you!
Love this comment 😂 My brother and I are autistic. This was our house growing up because of him (not all autistic people do this. Everyone is different) Also, you can say autistic. It’s not a bad word lol
Thanks a lot with your excellent DIY dry wall holes fixation. I really appreciate the multiple holes problems you dealt with and how to fix those problems. I have never done it but I am sure I will be able to do it after watching your video.
First, i just have to say that this is probably one of the best thought out diy videos I've ever seen. I love how you started it with the action of making the holes, then broke it down into categories of holes and then finally, the MVP, the chapters! Very nicely done.
If you cut your square patch first, then use it to trace the perfect size hole over the hole to be patched, you will save time and have a more precise fit.
My late husband had mobility issues and pulled on the towel bar until he pulled it out. It hurts me to see it but I was confused by all the options at the hardware store and on UA-cam. I am going to try this after I watch this a few more times ❤
Lmao his work is so clownish 😂 that isn’t even how you do it. You should use much wider trowels for the wide ones. And the best thing is cutting a new drywall piece, and screwing it into a wood backer piece. Then mesh tape, mud 2x, sand prime and paint. This guy has no clue how to do professional work, his work is amateur work and the UA-cam video is designed to be watched by amateurs
Helpful tip: When you apply the drywall compound keep your knife as clean as possible and make it as smooth as possible and not leave any lines. A few minutes of correcting that will save you lots of time and elbow grease when it comes time to sand and make it flat. Also I prefer a hopper than those cans of texture. It doesn't provide the almost identical texture Im looking for.
Thank you so much!! I’m a widow working on renovations in a new, small space. My late husband taught me a lot, including mudding drywall…. But not how to fix the holes!! Thanks so much!! 😊 👏
Thank you so much for the crash course! This is something that wasn't covered in high school. We only applied mud to pencil holes and staple holes. I do, however, remember our teacher bringing us to the gym storage where we could find the only "big enough" hole to use a mesh he placed behind the wall, holding it flat using strings then puddy it... I HAVE done this when I did interior painting on my summer job and it was not easy.
@@Asiansxsymbol You should consider red brick walls. Cheap, sturdy, not the most heat efficient but that's between your tenant and the utility company.
This is great. But it would also be very helpful to have a precise shopping list of the stuff you need to do all of this so people aren't left scratching their heads in the hardware store at all the different (seemingly innumerable) choices on the store shelves.
I'm sure by now you've fixed your problem, 2 months later and all, but here goes for future people who read your comment and agree; One razor blade knife One drywall breadpan(the long pan for sheetrock mud) One drywall knife(I know, I know. It's the wide spatchula looking thing in the video, not another knife. As with the breadpan, any hardware store stocker will know and point you to it, and aside once in the section, you can't miss them. The width is about spread, the bigger your hole, the more mud, the bigger the knife, the more surface area. Or better said, pros use different ones for different stages of finishing work, ignore them all but the short one. For the purposes of this video, you just want the one that's as long as you hand.) Some mud. Perhaps a pint if your hole is small or you do the square patch and are just filling seems. Any kind is good, just grab one that says quick dry, you will not need a 5 gallon bucket. One sanding sponge. Grab the one that looks like a trapezoid, and not the brick, easier to press your fingers when sanding stubborn bits, it's useful for more than just corners. A chunk of drywall. There's no real need to purchase a whole 4x8 piece, they will almost certainly have scrap the size you need laying about and will sell it to you cheap or just give it to you to be rid of it. Just get what you need here, specially if you're in a car. If they don't, let them know you're in a car, and they will just cut it for you. And screws if you wisely use the wood backer method. It works wonderfully by the way. I don't remember what he called it, but it's the best one for holes caused by elbows. Every professional will look for tips he doesn't know and here while nothing new stood out, these were all solid tips amd methods. If you use that orbital sander or palm sander, get a real sheetrock mask. If you can't get one in time, then Don't use the sander, it is a Lot of dust. In fact, for patch work in a room in your home I doubt you want to dust literally everywhere, and with lungs you care about, just use the sanding spounge, you only have to once after all. Oh yes, if you need to remove broken sheetrock for a square hole, buy a drywall saw, also called a rasping saw. Will slice that square you need infinitely faster than the razor blade knife and you can use the knife to finish the pretty bits. You will want both, so buy both.
Well done except you have a hole in your wall, just reach in and find the stud. You don't need a stud finder if you have a hole in your wall. That's like climbing the fence but the gates open.
Between my cat screaming to be let in my room and my neighbors fire alarm chirping, my earplugs weren’t working and I was awoken for the millionth time so I freaked out and punched clean through my drywall. Thanks for the tutorial

i had a huge hole to fill in once , i used 4 screws that were about twice the thickness of the drywall , cut a small piece in a shape of ,,X and put it behind the wall where i screwed it to the drywall that was okay then i put a piece in the now cut out hole with the shape and filled in .. it worked fine for me - hole was high up so no pressure was to be applied on the patch
This was great; thank you! First time owning a house, and I needed to patch three different holes (one small and two medium). This video is just what I needed!
Thank you! I’ve been covering up a hole from an old intercom the previous owner had. Bought a kit years ago but was afraid to use it. Seeing your video has taken my fear away.
You punch a house wall in Italy you’ll brake your hand rist arm shoulder back and head ... only in the US do people punch their wall knowing it’s soft I mean sheet rock No one ever punches a stone wall 😂
Here in US my boss got mad at me because I drained transmission fluid on a brand new car. Started yelling at me and hit a brick wall with a 6-7 piece😂I was like wtf bruh chill
Thank you for this video! What's the difference between spackel and mud? I have spackel for the walls when we did painting last year. Does it depend on the size of the hole? There's some water damage in my bathroom to the wall and the wall has picked with some smaller but obvious "tears" along the wall between the tub and the sink and some bubbles under part of the wall paint that haven't broken open yet like the others. What would you recommend? Not big enough for a patch but awesome to know those exist. Thank you!

The solution is simple: do not use drywall, use AAC (autoclaved aerated concrete) for walls. Drywalls are scam. I'm quite sure the void inside of walls supposed to be filled with sand originally, but then you could not break them so easily.
Probably because it's cheaper to produce and sell. And it's really easy to set up. Unless a homeowner specifically wants what you suggested, drywall will be the standard

I promise... I've replaced Hundreds of walls and just do it...
FESTOOL Orbital w/ hoover dust extraction attachment very good, use it in commercial office buildings with active air con units and clients next door.
how many coats does it typically take to hide the tape?

I am embarrassed I Kyled my wall a couple years ago, this was helpful
"Kyled" LOL
Lol I'm literally Kyle, I like monster and punch holes in drywall and doors, hut my name isn't Kyle
@@stephanierubalcava2818 does he mean kicked?
@@TUFAAX411 He means kyled, similar to how "Karen" has been deemed the name of a person who has a shitty hair cut and likes to speak to the manager to bitch about stupid issues. "Kyle" is the name given to someone who likes to drink monster energy drinks, wear axe body spray and punch holes in drywall.
I kyled a hole in my wall 😅🤣

Thanks to this video, I feel confident I'll be able to patch all of them up before painting.
im doing my own dry wall repair and after viewing this, I am more confident I can do it!!! thanks great video.
Thanks
Glad you found it helpful, and good luck with your work!
God bless
Oh, my! Thank u. Best video. This video will live on in eternity.
Looks like I picked the right video to start with. Been way too stressed out lately, sadly my walls became the victim of it. Now I can fix them properly. Thank you!
This is the GOAT video on this topic. Thank you!

As a painter I have always found the drywall to be the hardest to do it takes a lot of time to really know how to properly use each of the tools for drywall and the ways to apply the mud
Thumbnail brought me here. Didn't disappoint.
My boyfriend threw me into the wall yesterday during a fight.
Now I have to fix the wall. This video helped. Now I think I can fix the wall. Thanks
This is vital info for apartment living (especially for one like me who likes to hang things and rearrange them all over and over). The walls always reflect the patches I've made and I had no idea how to make the wall look the same after using the mud until this video. I am actually looking forward to applying the new tricks you've just taught me. Thank you!!
I don't need repairs, but just went through your whole video. Very good stuff, no wasting time, no life stories, we all appreciate it. 👍

My patch came with instructions, but seeing this video gave me the confidence I needed to fix a big hole in my wall (without asking hubby to do it, since he is working two jobs and has no time). Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I had a lot of holes to repair in my apartment with various sizes, this really helped me patch them up.
This is the best video I have ever seen! Excellent instruction. Very thorough and enjoyable to watch!
By far the best dry wall repair video out there! Brief and to the point!
Great drywall repair video. I like that you covered several sizes of damage and the different techniques. Thank you!
Straight to the point and very informative! Anyone with a child "on the spectrum" as they call it now needs to watch this (if you have one, you know what I mean). I've got a room with one or more of each of your examples to fix. Thank you!

Thanks a lot with your excellent DIY dry wall holes fixation. I really appreciate the multiple holes problems you dealt with and how to fix those problems. I have never done it but I am sure I will be able to do it after watching your video.
Thanks! Great video. Easy to follow. Showed this to my husband, now we can start fixing those holes which really bothered me for a long time 🙂
@@therunningman8692 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Did your husband make those holes “fixing” the house like mine did?
First, i just have to say that this is probably one of the best thought out diy videos I've ever seen. I love how you started it with the action of making the holes, then broke it down into categories of holes and then finally, the MVP, the chapters! Very nicely done.
I did this with my dad and it worked out great!
I don’t have a dad
If you cut your square patch first, then use it to trace the perfect size hole over the hole to be patched, you will save time and have a more precise fit.
For the California patch, you mean. (I know that *you* know that, but not everyone reading will know)
My late husband had mobility issues and pulled on the towel bar until he pulled it out.
It hurts me to see it but I was confused by all the options at the hardware store and on UA-cam.
I am going to try this after I watch this a few more times ❤
Thank you very very much for the tutorial! You taught me how to repair all of the types of holes I had in the drywall in my house in 16 minutes!
@@charlesg7926 i dont wan to do professional work. just want the hole patched
Thanks for saving me the $200 my overly priced college apartment would've charged me for going Kyle on my wall last year
As a landlord, I'd charge you much more than $200 for any hole in my walls.
@@Asiansxsymbol You should consider red brick walls. Cheap, sturdy, not the most heat efficient but that's between your tenant and the utility company.
Thank you!!!!!! 👏👏👏 This is going to save me $350!!!
This is great. But it would also be very helpful to have a precise shopping list of the stuff you need to do all of this so people aren't left scratching their heads in the hardware store at all the different (seemingly innumerable) choices on the store shelves.
I'm sure by now you've fixed your problem, 2 months later and all, but here goes for future people who read your comment and agree;
One razor blade knife
One drywall breadpan(the long pan for sheetrock mud)
One drywall knife(I know, I know. For the purposes of this video, you just want the one that's as long as you hand.)
Some mud.

Thank you!
Europe says Hi with our brick/concreate walls :D
The United States says Hi with the most diverse population, highest standard of living, strongest economy and strongest military the world has ever known :D
@@sirfakealot5041 If you look at economics, yes the USA is near the very top. You might have ideas of what makes a better country, but standards of living is basically how much buying power average person has. Most countries have higher taxes which leaves less money in the hands of the person who earned it.
Finally, I know how to do this much better thanks to this clip. Excellent work.
The solution is simple: do not use drywall, use AAC (autoclaved aerated concrete) for walls.
Drywalls are scam. I'm quite sure the void inside of walls supposed to be filled with sand originally, but then you could not break them so easily.
I've been thinking the same thing. Why are the walls so weak?? There's gotta be something better.
Probably because it's cheaper to produce and sell. And it's really easy to set up. Unless a homeowner specifically wants what you suggested, drywall will be the standard
Does AAC allow frequencies for phone service and internet to pass through the walls?
@@iSkrapsRacnus AAC walls has the same effectiveness as brick walls. Thus it should not be problem for a signal coverage. At least half of the world use brick houses and has no problem.
@@vasiliynkudryavtsev “Materials such as drywall, plywood, other kinds of wood and glass can be easily penetrated by wireless signals. However, materials such as brick, plaster, cement, metal, stone, and double-glazed glass may cause problems.”
I know that concrete is bad for wireless signal and I’m not trying to doubt you but wherever I look having interior walls that are brick or concrete etc would interfere.
