I bought your pattern months ago, and LOVE it! I’ve made a lot of them for gifts and sold some at a craft show, but mostly I love using them in my home. I use double strands of cotton yarn. I also use the smaller rings from Hobby Lobby in the macrame section because my hubby and grandkids have a tendency to pull the towels out of the bigger rings. Thanks for so kindly sharing your techniques, patterns, and inspiring so many people!
Your sweet comment means so much to me! It makes me so happy to hear you’re enjoying it so much! I love hearing the variations everyone is making to the pattern, to make it their own ❤
I just completed 2 of these for Christmas gifts! I did one of the 2 ring ones and one of your button ones with 1 ring. A college friend posted a photo on Facebook of the 3 in this video and said, "If only someone could make me some of these." We don't usually exchange gifts but I am excited to surprise her with a package in the mail for Christmas with one of these, complete with a cute Christmas dish towel!!! These also solve my problem for a Christmas party gift $10 & under, and gifts for the oncology nurses who I try to do something for at Christmas!
Thank you for the tutorial, very thorough and easy to follow. where did you get the blunt tip needle? What is it called? I've search and can't find it. Thank you
Loved your video. Is the start that you do similar to a magic ring. Also if you are using one skein of the Bernat, about how many will it make. Thank you in advance.
You said it was hard to find the yarn. I didn't have a problem with finding a yarn that worked and even found the Bernat Makers at Joann's. However, finding 4" wooden rings locally is more of a challenge. Joann's and Michaels does not have them. Hobby Lobby does but they were out. I ended up buying some on Amazon since H.L. was out of stock.
I'm so glad you were able to find the yarn, it was recently sold out just about everywhere. Yes, I get the rings online on Amazon. I hope you enjoyed the pattern!
Where did you find the special large opening dull end needle? Or the name or type of it to search for? I’m having no luck finding one like it? Thanks! The towel holders are awesome!
I'm making the 4 inch rings now and I am using Lion's brand Soft and Simple - so awesome but discontinued. My question is I chained 8 so 7 after the turn. I never know how wide to make this until they are done and they seem to run off the sides of the wood rings but you chained 9. How do we measure this or eye ball this so it's not too big once we get to the fasten off stage?
Does that needle have another name other than just blunt and needle? I looked on Amazon and all they have are the large-eyed regular blunt and needles. Where did you get yours
If you made the long version it's about 7.25" without the rings, but most people are preferring the shorter version. Here's my blog post that talks about the different sizes: simplymadebyerin.com/2023/10/13/crochet-towel-holders-3-ways-free-crochet-pattern/
@@SimplyMadebyErin That's Ok. I shrunk mine, did 7 chain and less rows. It looks great!!! Now one last question, where did you get that silver darning needle?? And I can't find the rings in that color? Love this and your work. I will be making more.

I’ve made some with rings , mine were about 4” like yours . They didn’t want to buy bcoz the ring was too thick to go around their oven door holder ! I gave up on them , some ladies said they’d hang on a kitchen knob ! I like them but I’m not getting stuck with so many !
I've heard from a few that the rings don't fit over their handles. I've seen an option where you crochet a loop around one side instead of of having the ring, you just slide the loop around the towel to hold it in place. Like the last few photos shown here: instagram.com/p/C8lEbE2PMP-/?img_index=5

What size rings did you use for the cotton yarn? What size hook? Thank you.
I use 2” rings and a size 7 hook. 😃
Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for actually talking us through the tutorial I really don't like those crochet patterns for they don't talk they just play music.
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you, and the start isn't a magic ring, but I can see how it looks similar! One skein should make about 10-12.

How many holders does it make with 1 skein?
About 20 depending on the length you make.
Hi I don’t see links for the farming needle ??? I get what your saying about the snag ! I learned first hand today ! 😂
It’s such a pain! Here’s the link: amzn.to/3UNzexk
Thank you! I found it after scrolling further. Thank you for a quick response ! Appreciate that !
Thank you as well😊
About how many towel holders can you make from using 2 skeins of the Bernat Maker?
About 20, or more if you use the shorter version listed on my blog post.

The approximate band width, before adding the rings varies from about 3.25″-4″.
@@SimplyMadebyErin ok thank you.
Can I use another kind of yarn? Acrylic or cotton?
Yes, cotton would be a great choice, just make sure you double or triple it, if its worsted weight.
Does that needle have another name other than just blunt and needle? I looked on Amazon and all they have are the large-eyed regular blunt and needles. Where did you get yours
It's actually called a drawstring threader, heres the link: amzn.to/3WVPz3c
Can I ask how long this should typically measure? I used a slightly different yarn 2 strands together (simple and soft vicose yarn by Lion's brand).

@@SimplyMadebyErin hi! I saw that but wasn't sure what the "smaller" size measures?
Sorry about that! Probably about two inches shorter, the finished measurement with the rings included is about 11-12 inches.
