    Thank you for showing how to create a hanging crochet topped towel! On your first row, I noticed you grab the yarn differently. Also, you wrap the yarn counter clockwise. I think that is a result of you being self-taught. I think the result is the same. Was wondering if you noticed you did that?!? Thank you for your video!

    I do my blanket stitch different. You crochet different than I do too. It looks like you grab the yarn from above when you make a stitch. I go under yarn and grab yarn from below, I don't know if I am describing how I do it but it is completely different. But same end result. Very nice pattern. Thank you.

    your decreases are regular decreases - insert hook, yo, pull through, insert hook in next stitch, yo, pull through, yo, pull through all three.
    An inv dec is: insert hook into FLO of the next 2 stitches (so you end up with both FLO on the hook, no yo in between), yo, pull through both FLO, yo, pull through. Invisible decrease dont work very well in flat/standard crochet because youre turning the work and the back loops arent being decreased, and are pretty much only used in amigurumi

    Do you need to have a certain number on stitches to start with

    • @FatLadyCrochet
      @FatLadyCrochet  2 роки тому

      You don't. The most important thing is to leave a 1/2 inch between the blanket stitches. But as you go, you'll reduce the stitch count of each row by 3, until you you have a row that is 8 or 9 sts. This is better explained in the video.

    You're wasting a huge amount of time with that extremely long yarn for your blanket stitch. It's so easy to just start again with a new piece of yarn when you run out - you can easily hide it. My general rule of thumb is make the thread (yarn) about the length of thumb to elbow after it's folder over and it will be easy to manage & safe a ton of time! Excellent video.

    From the way I see this, you're crocheting on the vertical line which cuts the towels literally in half. I think there needs to be more of a length give...

    • @FatLadyCrochet
      @FatLadyCrochet  2 роки тому

      The tea towels I'm using are folded in half, but the crocheting is worked along the horizontal edge - in other words, if I fold a 20" x 30" tea towel in half, I'll work along the top edge of the fold, which is 20" long, leaving 2 sides of the piece that are 15" long. Hope that makes sense!
